FAN-FAVORITE DREAM MATCH MORE THAN JUST FANTASY

Lewiston, Maine (May 19, 2016) – Since long before the dawn of the internet, sports fans have debated the outcome of fantasy meetings between beloved teams and athletes. What would happen if Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali met in their respective prime? Could the ’96 Bulls beat the ’86 Lakers? How would the bats of the ’27 Yankees fare against the starting rotation of the ’98 Braves? In mixed-martial-arts (MMA), presumably because the sport is so young, fantasy matchups are usually separated by weight classes as opposed to time.

Such is the case with the professional middleweight bout recently signed by New England Fights (Wiro sableng) for the fight promotion’s Juni 18 acara, “Wiro sableng 24: PROMISED LAND,” Lewiston. Jesse “Viking” Erickson (6-5) will move up two weight classes to face Crowsneck Boutin (2-2) ing 185-mina. It is a fight that fans of both popular athletes never imagined they would see, and now it is happening.

Jesse Erickson was unsuccessful in his attempt to capture the vacant NEF MMA Pro Lightweight Title last month atNEF22.The loss to Devin Powell (6-1) put a halt to Erickson’s three-fight win streak. The upcoming bout with Boutin offers not only a chance for redemption, but a chance for Erickson to fight without going through the rigors of a strenuous weight cut.

Crowsneck is someone who always puts on a good show,” said Erickson. “I’m excited for the challenge and look forward to the cage door being locked with us inside. I truly enjoy getting in that cage and this show I’ll be doing it without the misery of cutting weight. Aja kantun perang iki!”

After losing two-in-a-row in the MMA cage and coming up with a draw in a pro boxing bout, Crowsneck Boutin scored a big victory last weekend over Ruben Redman (0-1) in Hyannis, Massachusetts. The win brought Boutin’s record back up to the .500 tandha. Ing Juni 18, he will have the opportunity to add another notch to the win column.

The fight fever is aboard me,” ngandika Boutin. “I’ll be ready to battle. Erickson is a bad ass, so I love this fight. From my perspective, it appears that our dark towers is one in the same.

Punika apa kong wis ngomong Wednesday:
ERISLANDY LARA
I’m not surprised that I’m fighting Vanes again. It’s my job to fight whoever they put in front of me.
I felt that I was a better fighter than him the first time and I’m a little better in almost every area since. One of the most important things is my way of training and my way of getting prepared. I feel that I am much more mature.
I like being back in Las Vegas again. I’m definitely prepared to do what I doand that’s win.
After I win Setu, I would love to fight GGG or Canelo, but I would prefer GGG. It’s not frustrating that I’m not fighting the biggest names all the time. I’m a headliner.
I don’t feel any pressure. I’m just going to do my job and just keep winning. Anggere aku tetep menang, everything will take care of itself.
Vanes Martirosyan
I’ve been fighting as a pro for over 10 taun. This is definitely the most important fight of my career. It’s do or die. Win and I move 10 steps forward, lose and I go 10 steps backwards.
Beating Lara this time is 10 times bigger than if I had won the first time. Lara has gotten better, maybe his style hasn’t changed much, but I feel that I’m much better too.
There has been lots of changes in my camp. All for the better. I’m more focused in training. We’ve gone back to doing things the way we used to. I’ve really been dedicated. More than ever.
I’ve given 100 percent every single day in the gym. Iki arep dadi perang angel. I hope he comes to me. It makes for a good fight. Bener, I think he is going to come forward a little more than people expect, but I’m prepared to chase him. Whatever it takes to be effective.
If he is aggressive, once he feels my power, he is going to go back to what he does bestrunning.
I’m coming to give my all.
Charlo JERMALL
All of the lost opportunities were part of my journey to get to this point. I know people aren’t going to give me my credit for fighting Trout because people will feel like he has had his time in his career, which we all do, but now it’s my time and I’m taking every opportunity I can.
I look back at the situations I’ve had to get here and it’s exciting. I have a big name opponent in Austin Trout and I feel like the underdog. I’m the young buck in the game who’s trying to be the lion. Although I do have the belt, its because I had to take it from someone that didn’t deserve it.
Every time Austin Trout gets to this level, he fails. He didn’t fight the same Miguel Cotto, he just wasn’t himself that night. I have to come in there and take what’s mine.
“Apa mengkono, Aku bungah. We train, we prepare for 12 babak. I’m prepared for whatever I need to be.
I’m excited to be here and fight and be able to support my brother. We’re able to roll through anything and keep looking forward. The good and the bad.
Everything I’ve been through; I try to move forward every fight. I got the belt from Cornelius Bundrage, I defended the belt and now I have the opportunity to fight Austin Trouta bigger name.
AUSTIN TROUT
I take my hat off to him. Kang suwé. Kang juara. I’ve been through more to get to where I’m at. I’m more of a dangerous fighter.
He’s not one to shy away from a challenge. I feel like I’m a better fighter. I’m shocked that I got a title shot this fast. I thought I was going to have to go back to the drawing board. The opportunity came and I’m so excited.
I’ve been working on my inside game. The things outside of the ringtightening up myself as a person. It’s been helping me in the ring.
On Jermall predicting a knockout:
He’s dreaming. Everyone has dreams, but I’ve been known to bust people’s bubbles. No one has been able to knock me out. He thinks he’s a great man. A better man than Canelo or Lara? He’s tripping.
I’m probably his toughest test to date.
The next chapter would be to fight my mandatory, unify and be undisputed champion.
JERMELL Charlo
This is history in the making. It’s extremely exciting. We never really thought about it like this. We knew we would be boxing and winning titles, but this is special. We have the opportunity to both be world champions at the same time.
We don’t know what to expect on Saturday, but we’re excited to put on a show and make a mark.
I have to get in there and prove to my opponent and the rest of the world that I’m dangerous and I will be victorious.
We always wanted to fight. We always want to prove ourselves to each other. About everything. We caused trouble but found ourselves in boxing.
I thought my opportunity would come first, but everything happens for a reason. Look at this moment. It’s motivated me and now it’s paying off.
The new training camp has been an adjustment, not being with my brother every day. I’ve been able to define who I am and my brother is able to do his thing.
My motivation is that I was once with my brother everyday. What pushed me so much in camp was knowing that I’m not with my brother everyday, but I’m still in the same shape, even better and stronger. Not through coaches, but in general. Mentally I’m the same or better. We didn’t get worse because we split. The point is what we are doing to stay in shape physically and mentally to be the best we can be.
YOHANES Jackson
This is going to be a good fight. It could be the best fight on the card. I’m an explosive fighter so expect fireworks.
My dad has given me advice my whole career. I have a lot of great insight about how to manage my emotions. He’s instrumental in my corner. Aku 100 persen siap.
There is a lot of pressure on Jermell, but I’m sure he’s not over thinking it. I’m expecting the best Charlo in there.
I go in there to go to war. Apa mengkono, happens. I’m going to leave it all in the ring and give the fans a great show.
I’m happy to be the underdog. I like to be the underdog and prove people wrong. I’m happy to be in this position. I was an underdog in the Olympics. I love the pressure. He has more to lose than I do.
I’ve been dreaming about this moment my whole life. Aku 100 percent ready for this and I can’t wait to perform under the lights.
Make sure you tune-in, because I’m going all out for the belt.
Leonard ELLERBE, CEO saka Mayweather Promosi
We’re very busy. We are going full steam ahead. We are doing events, putting butts in the seats and promoting our fighters.
This is a great card. Anytime you can put the top fighters in a single weight class on the same show, it is bound to be a great event for the fans and for the sport in general.
We’re happy to be working with SHOWTIME once again to put on another tremendously competitive fight card for the fans.

Undefeated featherweight prospect Toka Kahn-Clary continues to develop

Pictures courtesy of Mikey Williams
Providence (May 18, 2016)) – Undefeated blue-chip featherweight prospect Toka “T-Nice” Kahn-Clary (17-0, 11 KOs) continues to show improvement in each and every fight. Last weekend, the 23-year-old Liberia-native knocked out seasoned veteran Orlando Rizo (19-7) in the fourth round at Sportsman Lodge in Studio City, California.
Kahn-Clary, onomatopia saking Providence, may still be flying under the radar but he’s getting closer to becoming a breakout star. His most recent fight was his first scheduled 10-rounder.
I put in a lot of hard roadwork, running seven miles a day, lan (his head trainer) Peter (Manfredo, Sr.) really pushed me,” Kahn-Clary talked about preparing for his last fight. I got some good work from Javier Fortuna, sparring him a few times, and he’s a good southpaw.
I wasn’t looking for a knockout but it just happened. I stepped left and threw a left. I didn’t load up but it was accurate, hitting him right on his chin. I was happy to get the knockout but I was looking forward to getting in some more rounds.
Nothing Toka does really surprises me because I’ve known since the beginning that he’s special,” Manfredo commented. “Toka continues to improve with each fight and he’s hungry to get to the next level. There’s no rush, he doesn’t turn 24 to next year. He’s still maturing. The kid he knocked out was Nicolas Waltersmain sparring partner.
I just don’t want to put him in with the big names just yet. He’s maturing but he’s not all the way there. He’s improving all of the time, putting his combinations together better each fight. I’ve also noticed that he’s nice and relaxed in the ring now. He’s becoming a good boxer who always had power. Top Rank is doing a great job moving him. Everybody’s happy.
A amatir Amérika decorated sing wis 131-11 rekaman, disorot kinerja emas-medali ing 2010 Gloves Golden National Tournament, Kahn-Clary liwati ing dijupuk kanggo nggawe 2016 U.S. Olympic Boxing Team to turn pro three years ago.
I’ve been boxing 10 taun saiki,” Kahn-Clary added. “Knowing what I’ve already accomplished, I also realize that I’m still improving. I’ll be back in the gym Senen to get ready for the next call we get about my next fight. (Top Rank’s) Brad Goodman is one of the best matchmakers in boxing. He and everybody at Top Rank are doing a great job positioning me for a big opportunity. That may not happen this year but, hopefully, it will sometime next year. I’m boxing so much better now than I ever did. I used to fight like I was in a fog but, saiki, my eyes are wide open.
Not bad for a kid who left his mother and siblings in Liberia when he was six, only to have his father murdered a year after he arrived in the United States. He’s overcome many difficult obstacles in his young life, most of them tougher than any opponents he’ll every fight, including a stretch in which he was homeless. It’s only made him tougher and an even better overall person.

World champion Beibut Shumenov to defend title vs. Junior Wright this Saturday night in Las Vegas

Las Vegas (May 18, 2016) – World Boxing Association (WBA) juara Cruiserweight World Interim Shumenov Beibu (16-2, 10 KOs) makes his first title defense Setu iki wengi (May 21) against WBA No. 11-rated Junior “Hurricane” Wright (15-1-1, 12 KOs) at The Chelsea inside of The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
I’m happy to get the opportunity to fight Setu iki wengi,” Shumenov ngandika, “but I wish that I could fight more often. I’ve been ready since January. Every training session I gain new knowledge. I am a completely different fighter than in my last fight.
Shumenov’s last fight was back in July, in which he defeated B.J. Bunga (31-1-1, 20 KOs) by 12-round unanimous decision in Las Vegas to capture the vacant WBA Interim title, making the former WBA light heavyweight champion Shumenov the first professional boxer from Kazakhstan to be a two-division world champion.
By becoming the WBA Interim cruiserweight champion, Shumenov also became the No. 1 ranked mandatory challenger for WBA Super cruiserweight titlist Denis Lebedev (28-2, 21 KOs), who also fights Setu iki in Russia against International Boxing Federation (IBF) juara Victor Emilio “Tyson de Abasto” Ramirez (22-2-1, 17 KOs) in a unification match.
The WBA has already mandated that the Lebedev-Ramirez must fight Shumenovwithin 120 dina. The WBA, Nanging, has failed to explain why it also declared a WBA “biasa” cruiserweight world title fight iki ana night in France between No. 2 yunier Dorticós lan Ora Ana. 5 Youri Kalenga (since upgraded to No. 3), especially after announcing that it would work this year to have only one world champion in each weight class.
Shumenov, mesthi, is risking his mandatory position by fighting Wright, the former 5-time Chicago Golden Gloves champion. “I need to stay active,” Shumenov explained why he’s taking such a risk. “Saben perang, I gain experience and it also helps me develop my fighting skills.
The 12-round Shumenov vs. Wright title fight is on the non-televised portion of The Cosmopolitan show.

CARVALHO AND MANHOEF MEET WITH MIDDLEWEIGHT TITLE ON THE LINE THIS ana AT ‘BELLATOR 155’ – LIVE AND FREE ON SPIKE

CONFERENCE CALL HIGHLIGHTS

UFC Presiden Scott Coker, along with “UFC 155: Carvalho vs. Manhoef” main and co-main event fighters Rafael Carvalho (12-1), Melvin Manhoef (30-12-1), Pat Curran(21-7) lan Georgi Karakhanyan (24-5-1) all joined this afternoon’s official media conference call to promote iki ana kang acara.

Scott Coker

“We’re excited to be in Boise, fighting at the Century Link Arena. I think this is a fight town that has been hungry for a big MMA promotion and we’re proud to be the first to do it. We’ve got a great middleweight world title fight between Carvalho and Manhoef… Carvalho is coming off of a big win with a KO over Brandon Halsey and undoubtedly this fight is going to have a bunch of fireworks between both of these guys.”

On the fight between Curran and Karakhanyan…

“I definitely think that this fight has some title implications but we always like to see how the fight pans outhonestly if this is something that’s exciting and a barn burner and if this fight can stand on its own feet, it very well could be.”

On if a Bellator bonus structure is going to come to fruition in the future…

“It is something we’re working on but we’re just a little bit different, because we’re a premium TV model so it’s something that has been considered, but right now it’s something that is still just in dialogue.”

Rafael Carvalho

“I am excited and really think this could be historical. It’s going to be a lot of strikes and it’s going to be a kickboxing fight with MMA gloves.”

“Every fight you’ve got to show what you got. In this fight, it’s going to be no different [now that I’m a champ]. I’m going to show everything I’ve got and I am always looking forward to the next fight.

“People recognize me more now and I have gained more respect now as the champion…Winning the belt for the first time is one thing, but the real deal is when you defend the belt and keep the belt. That’s when you become the real champion.

On overcoming challenges of living in Rio…

“There are good people as well as bad but the only thing that is going to dictate your future is you and how hard you work for it. It doesn’t matter where you live or what kind of clothing you wear, if you put your mind into it and are willing to work hard for it.

Melvin Manhoef

“I look forward to making a kickboxing with small gloves. I am prepared for anything so it doesn’t matter what’s going to happen. I am looking forward to being there and doing what I do best, which is the striking, so for me it’s very nice that he wants to do the kickboxing in the cage with me.

Do you feel like people are counting you out heading into this fight?

“I don’t know what people are thinking but it all depends on what me and my team think and the fans who are supporting me think. I feel like the fight is still in me and I showed it at my last fight. I trained real hard for this fight and my goal is to show it again that you cannot count me out… You know my fight style; I do everything to knock people out so I am glad if [Carvalho] wants to make a kick boxing fight out of it.”

What would winning the Bellator title mean to you?

“It means a lot, with all of the hard work and a lot of people writing me off, but I think this is like a new era or new beginning for me and I could become a world champion. I think that being a fighter that’s been in the business so long, it has been an achievement already.”

Pat Curran

“I am really excited to step in there on Friday and put on a dominant performance. I have made a lot of changes in my life, in my camp and everything is falling into place right now and I’m excited to showcase that on Friday."

Do the stakes of this fight change for you as they would for a title?

“I feel like every fight at this point in your career, especially in this division is do-or-die and if you win you’re going to get that much pull-through coming or having the chance to fight for the title again and I feel like over and over George and I have been that much closer to another title shot.”

Georgi Karakhanyan

“I can’t wait for Ana wengi. I am going out there with nothing to lose, just going 100 percent and fighting my fight and come out with a victory.”

On this being a potential title eliminator and going up against two-time champ Curran…

“I know everybody is talking about the title but to me I don’t think about that, right now I have a good opponent in front of me with Pat Curran, a former champion and I can’t ask for a better opponent than him. I am very excited, I cannot wait and I am ready to put on a great show and I’m for sure coming out with my hands right.”

On coming back from surgery and making adjustments…

“I treat everything the same, I got about five surgeries last year and the last surgery was just a meniscus tear but after that, Bellator took good care of me. They put me in a very good rehab place and I’ve started my training and feel 100 persen. "

Baltimore Boxing’s Donald Wallace to make pro debut Saturday in Virginia

Baltimore, MD (May 18, 2016) – Baltimore Boxing middleweight prospect “Dangerous” Donald Wallace is slated to make his pro debut against fellow newcomer Brian Straus in a four round match up Setu evening at the ABC Sports Complex in Springfield, VA.

In the last year, Wallace went from a virtual unknown to a respected up and comer in the notoriously tough Baltimore-Maryland-DC region. A participant in the 2016 Olympic Qualifiers, Wallace exceeded expectations but ultimately came up short after dropping a debatable decision to well-regarded Sharif Rahman.

Since the defeat to Rahman, Wallace has been fighting with a chip on his shoulder and the kind of hunger necessary to make it in a sport brutal as boxing. Now that his brief but successful amateur career is behind him, Wallace is focused on his future in the paid ranks.

“I’m excited and have been working on getting my weight down,” said Wallace. “My last few amateur fights I fought too heavy but that’s no longer an issue. I’ve already had experience boxing without the headgear during the Olympic Qualifiers so I’m not worried about that aspect. I actually like that the gloves are smaller in the pros because I’m looking for a knockout or stoppage in the first round to enter the pros in style!"

Jake Smith, Wallace’s manager and trainer, has been involved in the fight game for more than three decades and is a firm believer in him.

“Donald came to me with no experience but the desire to learn and improve. He is an incredibly hard worker and has come very far in a short period of time. I believe his work ethic alone will take him places in this sport and I’m looking forward to Setu wengi. "

Tickets are available by calling 410-375-9175.

Finally back home and reunited with both his natural family and gym family, Bang is ready for his return to the cage.

After two years of amazing missionary service, I cannot begin to express how excited I am to reunite with my CMBJJ brothers,” Said Bang. “I have only spoken with my own family on Christmas and Mother’s Day, and to have the opportunity to rejoin the ‘Bang Clanin battle on June 18th is a fitting reunion. Since childhood our father has always told us, ‘The first rule of brothers is to stick together.’ Wekasanipun, it will be me alone in the cage to battle my opponent but it is family, both immediate and extended, that gets me there and beyond.

Lancaster, New Hampshire’s Mike Bezanson debuted in the NEF MMA cage one year ago atNEF 18.Early in the fight, it became evident that his opponent that evening, Jeff Dustin (0-1), was outmatched against the Team Kaze product. Although Dustin hung in there for almost two full rounds before the referee stopped the fight, Bezanson put on a striking clinic that left his opponent bloodied. Bezanson took his time and looked like a cat toying with its prey. Some in attendance saw his performance as showboating, while others were impressed by his pinpoint striking. Like it or not, no one could deny that Bezanson provided the entertainment that night.

I received a lot of mixed reviews from my debut fight at NEF,” recalled Bezanson. “Staying true to myself, Aku sing aku – in and out of the cage. Aku panghibur, keep people on their toes. Some might say my style of fighting is cocky and unorthodox, but it’s who I am, what I doand I’m comfortable fighting that way. It is in no way meant to belittle or disrespect my opponent, it’s merely a technique. I have a great deal of respect for all fighters, trainers and fans. One of the reasons I train to fight is the self discipline. I push myself to be the best I can be and I love to compete! Menang utawa ilang, I take away whatever I can from the experience to better myself and grow. You know what they say, ‘There’s no losing, you either win or learn.I’m excited to get in the cage in June, and put all my hard work to the test! It’s going to be an entertaining show!”
