Fighters spoke to media and posed for cameras at the Paradise Live Theater before moving into the Hard Rock Live Arena for media workouts.
Esto es lo que los combatientes tenían que decir Miércoles:
Rances Barthélemy
I’m very excited to be fighting here close to Miami. This is a second home for Cubans and I’m really motivated to put on a great performance for the fans.
Ismael Salas is one of the top trainers in the world and our whole team has been fantastic. We’re ready to get in the ring and fight.
I come prepared with a few strategies. I never stick to one game plan because us Cubans were taught to have a few up your sleeve so that you can adjust according to whatever presents itself to you in the ring.
If we don’t get the knockout, then we are ready to go the distance. My team is prepared to go the distance if we have to, but also to give an entertaining fight.
You’re going to see a new Rances Barthelemy in 2016.
“No te pierdas esta lucha. Get there early, because it might not go five. Get ready for a great night of boxing.
MICKEY BEY
I want to give Rances props for stepping up and taking the fight. This is the beautiful thing about boxing, la mejor lucha contra los mejores.
You have a two-time champion fighting a world champion that never lost his belt in the ring. That says it all right there. We’re two elite fighters. We’re both going for glory.
No matter what anybody says today, it comes down to the action el viernes.
I’m in there with the same mindset no matter who I’m fighting. I’m coming in there to do what I do no matter what. It’s just another day for me.
You’ll see a throwback fighter in there. I’m like the fighters from back in the day. I’m here looking for the victory. I don’t care how I get it and I can’t predict. But we want to have our hand raised.
I’m coming to get what is rightfully mine. No te lo pierdas.”
EMMANUEL RODRÍGUEZ
I feel great and ready for Viernes. I’m not worried about mañana at all, we’re right on weight, so we’re just looking forward to stepping into the ring at this point.
We’ve been in training camp for six months as we had a tentative fight date scheduled prior to this so I was already in the gym getting ready. We’re in the best shape.
We have seen footage of him and saw he makes a lot of mistakes. We analyzed those defaults and are using them as a strategy against him. We’ve put those into practice and think we will be able to execute them to come out victorious at the end of the night.
He’s not your typical Mexican warrior fighter, he’s the total opposite actually so we’re not worried about what he does.
ALBERTO GUEVARA
I’m ready for this big opportunity and I’m ready to fight. This is a big card and it’s very exciting.
I know what I have in front of me. Emmanuel Rodriguez is a good fighter, but he’s just another opponent to me.
I’m well prepared and I believe I’m going to win this fight.
CALEB PLANTA
I’m thankful to have this stage to perform on. I’m glad the media could come out and get a sneak peek of what I’m going to bring Viernes noche.
The game plan is to go in there and look sharp, be slick, make adjustments and dictate the pace. He’s going to be uncomfortable because we’re going to dictate the pace. We’ll see if he can keep up.
I’ve seen enough tape on, which wasn’t very much. I let my coaches breakdown the film and let me know what I need to do.
This is my only job and I do it well. I’m not into getting ready, Me quedo listo. We’re here to show out.
“He tenido un gran campo de entrenamiento. I worked hard and I’m ready to put on a show este viernesnoche. I’m going to do what I always do in there.

DARRION CALDWELL LOOKS TO SOLIDIFY HIMSELF AS NO. 1 CONTENDER AGAINST JOE TAIMANGLO DURING MAIN EVENT OF ‘BELLATOR 159: CALDWELL VS. TAIMANGLO’ – FRIDAY, Julio 22 – LIVE AND FREE ON SPIKE

HOMETOWN HERO DAVE RICKELS SET FOR ACTION AGAINST MELVIN GUILLARD IN CO-HEADLINER

SANTA MONICA, California. (Junio 1, 2016) – Bellator MMA returns to Kansas with a pivotal matchup between undefeated phenom, Darrion "El Lobo" Caldwell (9-0) y Joe Taimanglo (22-6-1) to determine the No. 1 contender for the Bantamweight Title in the main event of "Bellator 159: Caldwell vs. Taimanglo” en julio 22 inside Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane, Kansas.

En el evento principal de la noche, local hometown hero Dave “Caveman” Rickels (17-4) se reunirá Melvin "El Asesino joven" Guillard (32-16-2) in a lightweight matchup that will surely provide fireworks. Concursos adicionales se anunciarán en breve.

En 28 años, “The Wolf” may very well be the brightest young star in Bellator MMA’s deep bantamweight division. The New Jersey native has begun his career with nine consecutive victories, including five blistering first round finishes. Caldwell will be tasked with the headlining role for the second consecutive time after an impressive first outing at "Bellator 151: Warren vs. Caldwell " in which he had his way with former two-division Bellator champion Joe Warren, ganadora via rear-naked choke submission. The former NC State standout wrestled to a National Championship and two All-American accolades before joining the Bellator MMA fray in 2014. The undefeated Caldwell is reinvigorated after recently re-signing a seven-fight contract with the Scott Coker-led promotion. For a closer look at Caldwell’s most recent technical submission victory over Joe Warren in the main event of“Bellator 151,” Clickea aquí.

A native of Yona, Guam, Taimanglo has emerged as one of the most prolific bantamweight fighters in MMA. Having gone 13-2 over his last 15 bouts dating back to 2009, it’s difficult to find a fighter more consistent than “The Juggernaut.” Since signing with Bellator in 2013, Taimanglo has accumulated a 5-2 record including a current string of three consecutive victories. Standing at 5’4,” Taimanglo will once again be squaring off against a much taller opponent in the 5’10’’ Caldwell. Haga clic en en este lugar to see exclusive footage of Taimanglo’s unanimous decision win over Sirwan Kakai en “Bellator 151.”

As is usually the case when Bellator rolls through Kansas, Rickels will be the center of attention when he fights Guillard on July 22. “The Caveman” delivered the proverbial “Fight of the Night” back in February with a first-round knockout of Bobby Cooper durante el evento co-principal de "Bellator 150: Kongo vs. Spartan.” A native of Derby, Kansas, Rickels hará su 17º appearance under the Bellator MMA banner, a promotion with which he has accrued 11 victories over the course of a six-year period. The 27-year-old recently re-signed with the Scott Coker-led promotion, ensuring his exciting fighting style will be seen exclusively in the Bellator cage for years to come.

Con 52 career fights under his belt, 33-year-old Melvin Guillard will have a lot to prove when he takes on “The Caveman.” Guillard seems to have made a full recovery from his brutally broken hand that occurred during his Bellator MMA debut last year. Throughout his MMA tenure, “The Young Assassin” has displayed a knack for ending fights early, con 23 de su 32 professional victories coming before reaching the judges’ scorecards. En Julio 22 the New Orleans native will have an opportunity to take down another experienced lightweight in Rickels and reassert himself as a top 155-pounder.

HE BUZZSAW ARRIVES IN NEF TO CUT THE COMPETITION DOWN

Lewiston, Maine (Junio 1, 2016) – Just one day removed from the announcement that Russell Lamour, Jr. (13-2, 6 KOs) would make his debut on a New England Fights (NEF) tarjeta, the fight promotion announced that Lamour’s teammate Casey “The Buzzsaw” Incómodo (4-0-1, 2 KOs) would also be featured on the “NEF 24: PROMISED LAND” evento de boxeo profesional. En Junio 18, 2016 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisée, Kramlich will face Zenon “K-Bar” Herrera (0-1) in a four-round super welterweight contest.

Along with Lamour, Kramlich trains at the Portland Boxing Club in Portland, Maine. Incómodo, hasta la fecha, has yet to taste defeat in the boxing ring as a professional. Earlier this spring, Kramlich handed Boston’s Jason Kelly (5-1) the first loss of his professional career on a fight card in Salem, New Hampshire. He dominated the first two rounds of the fight before the previously-undefeated Kelly was unable to answer the bell to open round three.

Last fall, Kramlich fought to a draw against Antonio Chaves Fernandez (6-23-2) on a card in Portland, Maine. It is the only mark outside of the win column on Kramlich’s record. En Junio 18, Kramlich plans to add another notch to that win column at the expense of Zenon Herrera.

I’m very excited to be fighting on an NEF card,” said Kramlich. “Looking forward to putting on a great show for the fans. He estado entrenando duro, I’m hungry and I’m looking to come out on top victorious and stay undefeated.

Zenon Herrera is one of only a small handful of athletes to have competed in both the NEF MMA cage and the boxing ring. Herrera made his boxing debut last fall in a losing effort to Tollison Lewis (2-1). En Junio 18, Herrera will be looking for his first win in NEF. He is a veteran of both the United States Army and Marine Corps, después de haber servido un total combinado de nueve años entre las dos ramas militares.

Undefeated and number-one ranked Julian “J Roca” Williams ready for Jermall Charlo next

FILADELFIA (MAYO 31, 2016)–En mayo 21, three of the four world championships in the hot junior middleweight division were contested as Erislandy Lara defended his WBA title with a unanimous decision over Vanes Martirosyan; Jermall Charlo defended his IBF title with a unanimous decision over former champion Austin Trout and Jermell Charlo scored a come-from-behind stoppage over John Jackson to capture the WBC belt.
Sitting ringside was IBF number-one ranked contender, invicto Juliano “J Roca”Williams. Williams was a very interested observer and was interviewed on the TIEMPO DE LA FUNCION® broadcast with his thoughts on the happenings of the evening.
Jermell did his thing. I thought he was losing but Jermell has a clutch gene. He comes through in close fights. He knows what it’s like to be in tough. He’s doing well under Derrick James. He looked better on TV than he did live at the fight. He was losing but he was walking Jackson down. The sand was running out of the hour glass for Jackson. Jermell can punch better than his record indicates. And that style would be better for him because people always called him boring but it was nothing boring about the KO,” dijo Williams.
Lara did what he always does. He boxed and moved and he won.

I honestly didn’t think Trout would last with Jermall. I was surprised at how competitive that fight was. Jermall has every advantage over Trout on paper but fights aren’t won on paper. Trout proved something. I was actually going to congratulate him but I heard him say to Jermallsmack J Rock for me”. I don’t know what’s up with these guys. He had a chance to fight me for a whole year and he asked another man to smack me. But that’s old news Trout is out of the picture.

With that being, said the undefeated fighter from Philadelphia is focused in bring back the hardware back to theCity of Brotherly Love.
My focus is on Jermall Charlo. Va a ser una gran pelea. I think he’s a heck of a fighter. This is legacy defining. This is a real number-one contender against a real champion. This is a real mandatory. This is like Bernard Hopkins having to defend against Jermain Taylor. Or Jermain Taylor having to defend against Kelly Pavlik. Or Felix Trinidad having to fight Oba Carr. This is a real fight and I’m excited. I’m excited to test my skills against one of the best young fighters in the game.
Aunque, Williams was ringside, he just wanted to observe and take mental notes of the perspective future opponents.

I didn’t get in the ring like Charles Hatley did because that’s not my style. Hatley is a talented fighter. I remember him from the amateurs but to each his own. Jermall and Jermell deserve respect and most importantly I know the difference between the two brothers. Hatley got in the ring with Jermall who has to fight me, instead of Jermell who has to fight him. That was Jermall’s moment to shine he had just won a tough fight. Everybody knows he has to fight me. There would be no need for me to get in the ring.

Even though Williams has been avoided, the powers that be in boxing can not keep Williams from realizing his dreams, and that opportunity will be coming sooner rather than later.

From my understanding we have to come to an agreement in June. I believe in the IBF. They seem to enforce their mandatory bouts. The IBF did not rank me number-one, not to have me fight for their belt. Jermall said making weight wasn’t that bad. He hired a chef. I know he’s prideful. Él es un campeón. He feels he’s better than me, I feel I’m better than him. There is only one way to prove it. Let’s fight.

I can’t get into details but I believe the fight will be in September as the co- main to a BIG card. I’m super excited to finally get this opportunity.

HAITIAN SENSATION WILL MAKE NEF DEBUT ON JUNE 18

Lewiston, Maine (Mayo 31, 2016) – The Androscoggin Bank Colisée has a storied history of professional boxing inside the arena’s four walls. En Junio 18, Russell “The Haitian SensationLamour, Jr. (13-2, 6 KOs) will add the next chapter to that story when he enters the New England Fights (NEF) ring for the first time. En “NEF 24: PROMISED LAND,” Lamour will make his NEF debut in a middleweight bout against Mexican veteran Roberto “El Viejo” Valenzuela (69-71-2, 56 KOs).

Definitely excited to be making my NEF debut,” said Lamour. “NEF does a lot of shows here in Maine, and from what I hear it’s always a packed show. So I’m looking forward being on this card. I am excited about fighting at the Colisée ’cause I can then say that I fought in the same building that Muhammad Ali fought in and also that it’s right here at home in Maine. Fighting here at home again is always a great feeling, especially when you’re fighting in front of the people that support you the most. Can’t ask for anything better than that when fighting here in your backyard.

Un nativo de Brooklyn, Nueva York, Lamour entered the Portland Boxing Club shortly after graduating from Deering High School in Portland, Maine. He had a stellar amateur boxing career, finishing with a record of 79-16. Among his numerous amateur accomplishments, Lamour was a five-time New England regional Golden Gloves champion. He competed in the semi-pro World Series of Boxing (WSB) where he was the number-one ranked middleweight in the Americas.

Lamour’s success carried over to the professional ranks where he won his first 11 extremos. Over the course of that impressive run, Lamour would capture the vacant USA New England Middleweight Title with a TKO victory over Laatekwei Hammond (21-6) in Lamour’s hometown of Portland, Maine. Lamour has competed on ESPN’s Viernes Night Fights before a national audience. El mes pasado, he scored a TKO win over Borngod Washington (3-17) in Salem, New Hampshire. Lamour hopes to make it two in a row with a win over Valenzuela on Junio 18.

He is a journeymen,” Lamour said of his upcoming opponent. “He’s been fighting for a while and has seen many different styles, but to me he’s just someone else that’s in my pathway that I have to beat to get to where I want to be, so I have to get him out of my way.

Roberto Valenzuela is no stranger to Maine fight fans. He travelled from his home in Sonora, Mexico to Lewiston, Maine last fall to battle Brandon “El Cañón” Berry (11-1-1). Valenzuela would lose the bout via unanimous decision, but he impressed all in attendance with his gritty performance, roughing up Berry and cutting him above the eye in the process. Valenzuela has faced the likes of former world champions Andre Berto (31-4, 24 KOs) y Steve Forbes (35-14, 11 KOs) y actual campeón del mundo Zahir Raheem (35-3, 21 KOs). He held the Mexican Pacific Coast Super Featherweight Title from 2003 a 2007.

I am very excited to come back to Maine and fight again,” Valenzuela dijo a través de un traductor. “I love New England, and I’ve fought in Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont and Rhode Island during the course of my career. I’ve also worked corners in Connecticut and been pulled over for speeding in New Hampshire, so that must count for something. The last time I was in Maine, I busted open Brandon Berry’s eye and waged a bloody war. I’m ready to do the same with Russell Lamour. I hope he’s ready too.

LAS VEGAS (Mayo 31, 2016) – An old-time grudge match between lightweights Demond “Golpe en el cuerpo” Brock y Chuy “Huracan” Gutiérrez will headline the third installment of the “Knockout Night at the D” serie, Viernes noche, Junio 10, ventilación (11 p.m. Y / 8 p.m. PT) vivir CBS Sports Network desde el exterior El centro de Las Vegas Events Center (DLVEC).
La “Knockout Night at the D” serie, presentado por the D Las Vegas y DLVEC, es promovido por Roy Jones Jr. (JJR) Promociones de boxeo.
Brock versus Chuy has been a fight in the making for years and now the dream is a reality,” dicho Keith Veltre, CEO / Co-Fundador de Roy Jones Jr. Promociones de boxeo. “As Brock defends his title, Chuy will fight to the end to regain the title that he let lapse. This fight promises to be an all-out war and the winner will move into a national spotlight. Thanks to the ‘Knock out Night at the D’ serie, Derek Stevenson is giving Las Vegas prospects an opportunity to make a national presence.
Brock (11-3-1, 4 KOs) will defend his USNBC title against former USNBC lightweight champ Gutierrez (14-0-1, 4 KOs), who never lost his belt in the ring, which has set the stage for this Las Vegas showdown to determine who the USNBC belt truly belongs to. Adding fuel to the fire is the fact both fighters train in Las Vegas and have growing fan-bases.
Brock de 35 años, quien pelea con Kenner, Luisiana, learned to box in the Louisiana State Penitentiary, while serving his 14 ½ año de condena allí por robo a mano armada. In prison, he won 39 de 40 fights with 17 nocauts, eventually finishing his amateur career with an outstanding 54-3 registro.
Last November in El Paso, Texas, the RJJ-promoted Brock upset 9-1-1 Oscar Valenzuela, capturing the vacant WBC United States (USNBC) lightweight title by way of a unanimous 8-round decision.
Gutierrez is from Sinaloa, México, the home of Hall-of-Famer Julio Cesar Chavez among many other top fighters born there. A love of baseball kept Gutierrez occupied, hasta, as he says, “boxing found me.Gutierrez was attending college at South Nevada and working, still dreaming of becoming a major league baseball player, when he walked into the famed Johnny Tocco’s Ringside Boxing gym at the age of 21.
Bitten by the boxing bug, Gutierrez turned pro in in 2010 and he’s rapidly developed into a fan-friendly fighter, largely due to his aggressive, entertaining style. En 2014, Gutierrez won an 8-round majority decision over Rashad Ganaway(14-4-1) for the vacant USNBC lightweight crown.
The unbeaten Gutierrez wants his belt back and he’s determined to take it from Brock, quien, por supuesto, believes otherwise. They will settle the score Junio 10º in the 10-round main event that promises fireworks.
