Cazaquistão domina a Associação Mundial de MMA 2016 Campeonatos asiáticos

MONTE CARLO, Monaco (Agosto 12, 2016)- O Cazaquistão dominou a recente segunda Associação Mundial de Artes Marciais Mistas (WMMAA) Campeonatos asiáticos, conquistando as maiores honras em cinco das sete classes de peso, no Centro de Cultura e Esportes de Hwasoon, na República da Coreia do Sul.
Os vencedores individuais do Kazak foram peso galo Azama Markabayev, pluma Ismail Geroyev, welterweight Goyti Dazaev, meio-pesados Eerkinbek Injel e pesado Mohmad Sulimanov. O outro 2016 campeões individuais são peso leve do Quirguistão Ilias Chyngyzbek Uulu e Uzbequistão peso médioNursultan Ruziboev.
A competição individual por equipe foi realizada de acordo com o “Regras oficiais da competição de artes marciais mistas, sujeito à aprovação WMMAA. Incluindo revisões, adições e esclarecimentos de certas cláusulas. As lutas foram realizadas de acordo com o sistema olímpico, incluindo dois terceiros lugares em cada uma das sete categorias de peso.

Lewiston, Maine (Agosto 12, 2016) - Fights Nova Inglaterra (NEF) retorna para Lewiston em Setembro 10, 2016 com o próximo evento da promoção de luta, “NEF 25: HERÓIS & VILÕES.” The fight card will feature both mixed-martial-arts and professional boxing bouts. Hoje cedo, the fight promotion announced the first pro boxing bout signed for the event. Brandon Montella (4-0, 3 KOs) vai assumir Tollison Lewis (2-1, 1 KO) em um quatro-redonda concurso light-heavyweight.

 

Montella graduated from Carrabec High School in North Anson, Maine em 1998. Soon after, Montella entrou para o Corpo de Fuzileiros Navais dos Estados Unidos (USMC). He served in the marines until 2003 when he received an honorable discharge. After spending the better part of a decade in Virginia, Montella moved with his wife to the Boston, Massachusetts area in 2011. Tollison Lewis cut his teeth in the NEF MMA cage. He has found more success, contudo, in the boxing ring. “Each fight I feel like I’ve been growing. I’ve been learning and taking something from every experience in the ring. I’m a student of the game. I’m always training and I feel like I’m getting sharper and better.
“I know my opponent is an aggressive fighter. He’ll come forward and he comes to win. I know him from the amateurs where he has a great background like myself. I’m looking to pick him apart and prove myself.
“It’s hard for me to describe my style, but I make adjustments to opponents. I fight differently depending on my opponent. I’m a thinking fighter. He’s an aggressive fighter and I think it will bring the best out of me. I’m going to exploit his weaknesses and use his aggression against him.

GROUPE YVON MICHEL’S TOP FIGHTERS JOIN VADA/WBC CLEAN BOXING PROGRAM

MONTREAL (Agosto 10, 2016) – Groupe Yvon Michel’s (GINÁSIO) world-ranked boxers have enrolled in the new VADA/WBC Clean Boxing Program (CBP), created by Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (DAREI) and the World Boxing Council (WBC).
Adonis Stevenson, Lucian Bute, Eleider Alvarez e Artur Beterbiev will now participate in a serious new protocol in which they may be blood and/or urine tested anytime, 365 days per year. They must be available at all times for an unexpected test.
All of the WBC champions and WBC top 15-ranked fighters have until Setembro 9 to conform to the new protocol or they will be removed from the WBC rankings and suspended from any activity in the WBC.
”This is a step in the right direction but what will really be important in the next few years is for this structure to always keep improving in order to properly regulate professional boxing,” treinador Marc Ramsay dito.
”Felizmente, boxing is rarely the target of doping cases, but tightening the rules can only be beneficial to prevent tempted athletes to follow the wrong path,” added GYM vice-president, operations and recruitment, Bernard barré.
”I am fully in favor of these new measures so all of us in the program will be playing on the same plain field,” remarked Stevenson, the WBC world light heavyweight champion.

“There is no doubt that Eyubov is very strong and a tremendous puncher, but his lack of experience and quality of opposition leaves glaring question marks that will definitely be answered when he fights Karim,” disse Cohen. “Mayfield has fought at the highest level of the sport. Just take a snapshot of his last four opponents and their combined record of 73-14 com 44 KO’s.”
Cohen says that if Eyubov can steamroll his fighter like he has his previous ones, he’ll be the first to congratulate him.
“This is the classic matchup of a young stud vs. the established veteran. If Eyubov can knock out Karim like he has the opposition he has faced to date, I will be the first to take my hat off to him and would instantly consider him one of the top new contenders to burst onto the scene. On the flipside, if Karim beats Eyubov, this win should catapult him back to the top of the contender list and would immediately make him eligible for a world title bout or title eliminator. Truly a crossroads fight for both guys and one in which I really like Karim’s chances.”
“I’m training hard and getting prepared and sparring guys who come forward,” Mayfield said. “You haven’t seen a 100 percent Karim Mayfield. I’ve shown glimpses of it, but the past three fights, my training hasn’t been on point. I was training like a boxer. I’m not the boxer type. I bring it to you and I’m back to my original style. That wasn’t a good look for me. I was burning more energy moving around. I’m excited about this opportunity. After this win, I’ll be back in the top-tier fights. I’m excited I have a great opportunity and proper time to get prepared. I’m working hard and getting ready and I look forward to a sensational victory.”

“Foxwoods has become a terrific venue for Broadway Boxing and I am thrilled to deliver this lightweight crossroads battle between two once-beaten prospects as the main event,” dito Lou DiBella, Presidente da DiBella Entertainment. “Cowart fought well in his ShoBox appearance last year, but he will be returning to his natural weight class on September 1. A native Floridian from Groveland, Cowart (foto acima) is coming off his first loss as a professional, suffered just over one year ago in Atlantic City. O ataque, televised live as part of Showtime’s ShoBox: A Nova Geração série, saw the hard-hitting Cowart move up in weight to challenge fellow undefeated prospect Regis Prograis. Cowart went on to lose a very entertaining eight-round decision to the still undefeated contender Prograis, who was chosen as one of this year’s ESPN.com’s “Perspectivas para prestar atenção”. Following the loss, Cowart was forced to sit on the sidelines as he nursed an injury suffered in the bout. “This is a huge fight for me at this stage of my career,” said DeLomba. “Cowart’s only loss is to Prograis and he is considered one of the best young 140-pounders in all of boxing. If I can beat Cowart more convincingly, that is a major statement. I am not only going to be the bigger guy in the ring on fight night, but I am the better boxer. He is coming off a year layoff, and I know that he is eager to get back in that ring, but this is the biggest fight of my career, and I plan on putting on a show come September 1.”
Belgium super featherweight Dardan Zenunaj (12-1, 9 KOs), a former World Boxing Association (WBA) International champion, and undefeated Cuban amateur standoutLuis “O Leão” Garcia (14-0, 11 KOs), fighting out of Peekskill, Nova Iorque, are also scheduled to be in action on the Sept. 1 Broadway Boxe card in separate eight-round bouts.

Bellator 93 REMATCH TO FEATURE PROMINENTLY ON NEF 25 CARTÃO DE LUTA

Lewiston, Maine (Agosto 11, 2016) - Fights Nova Inglaterra (NEF) retorna para Lewiston em Setembro 10, 2016 com o próximo evento da promoção de luta, “NEF 25: HERÓIS & VILÕES.” NEF executives announced earlier today that Jesse “The Viking” Erickson (7-5) e Jon Lemke (5-6) will square off for the second time in their respective careers. Lemke won the first meeting at NEF’s co-promotion with Bellator, “Bellator 93,” in the spring of 2013. The bout will take place in the 155-pound lightweight division.

 

Originally scheduled to take place earlier this month at “NEF Presents Dana White: Olhar dentro’ for a Fight” em Bangor, Erickson-Lemke II was postponed when Erickson suffered an injury in training. Devin Powell (8-1) stepped in to replace Erickson in the bout. While he was stopped late in the first round, Lemke put on a valiant performance, shattering Powell’s nose in the process. Lemke hopes to get back on the winning track at “NEF 25.”

 

“My last couple of performances have been a bit disappointing for me as a fighter, so I wanted to fight again as soon as possible and figure this out,” disse Lemke. “I am incredibly grateful for another opportunity to fight for NEF. I am learning how to separate who I am as a person and man versus who I am as a fighter when I step in to that cage. This will enable me to stop holding back and really leave it all in the cage. Jesse is a fighter through and through and this will be a great battle for sure.”

 

Erickson, por outro lado, is coming off a brutal knockout victory over Amos Collins (4-5) em junho passado. It was just the latest in a string of improved striking performances from Erickson in the past couple of years. He says that he will welcome the opportunity to stand and exchange with Lemke should the opportunity present itself.

Team Perrella Reflects on Commission Cancelling Ugas Fight

Fort Myers, FL (Agosto 10, 2016) – With his grueling training camp completed, undefeated welterweight rising star Bryant “Goodfella” Perrella was ready to fly to Verona, NY and enter the ring Sexta-feira evening for a nationally televised fight against 2008 Olympic Bronze Medalist Yordenis Ugas.
Infelizmente, his fight with Ugas was unjustifiably cancelled by the Oneida Indian Athletic Commission.
During Perrella’s Junho 4 second round knockout of David Grayton, he suffered a thumb injury. While receiving a standard post fight visit from Quebec Athletic Commission officials, they took note of the injury. When the Ugas fight was scheduled, Quebec’s notes on Perrella were sent to the Oneida Commission. In order to face Ugas, Perrella was told that he must receive approval from a doctor. The 27-year-old twice visited a hand specialist, receiving formal written clearance to fight August 12. Team Perrella submitted the paperwork to the Oneida Commission and were prepared to put on a show Sexta-feira noite. Surprisingly, the commission refused to license him even with formal clearance.
"I’ve been involved in combat sports most of my adult life and thought I’d seen it all but this is without question a first,” said Perrella’s trainer Michael Nowling. “Bryant had a really good camp and we were both confident that this performance would get him to the next level but now we’ve got to wait for another fight date. This is extremely unfair because Bryant had medical clearance like they had requested but the commission inexplicably decided to cancel the bout on a few days notice. I’m looking forward to getting out next date and even with this mishap I’m still a believer that everything happens for a reason.”
Perrella, who was looking to go 15-0 and become the first man to stop the crafty Ugas, is disappointed but took the high road.
"I was ready to go. I was approved to fight by a hand specialist but the commission’s doctor had the ultimate decision and decided otherwise. We feel that this would’ve been my most spectacular performance to date but I’m no stranger to obstacles being put in my path. It develops character. I believe everything happens for a reason and God has other plans for me. This only added fuel to the fire. A beast just got released and cannot be tamed. I’ll be bigger, badder and better than ever when I get back in that ring!"
Team Perrella is expecting their next fight date to be announced shortly.
