Danny Garcia opened up about his father Angel, his challenging childhood, and not getting the respect he deserves in an intimate conversation with award-winning reporter Mark Kriegel. Garcia on his father’s incarceration while he was a child:

Garcia on his father’s approach to tough parenting and coaching following a loss in the amateurs:

“I love him for that because we have a perfect chemistry. I needed him, he needed me. I was a talented kid, but he made me believe in myself. I just loved boxing, I was just having fun…but to him, he was working, he was providing for the family. This was our way out. And once he told me that I never looked at it like that again. I took it serious and I just became the best fighter I could be.”

 

Garcia when asked by Kriegel who is the most dangerous fighter in the division:

“Danny Garcia. Sabes por qué? Danny Garcia has always been the underdog and overlooked his whole career. And I’ve never been given the credit I deserve ever since I was a little kid. Dat Nguyen vs Miguel Flores este martes en PBC Toe-To-Toe Tuesday en FS1 y Fox Deportes

Vero Beach, Florida (Febrero 20, 2017)–Este Martes noche en el Estudios Silver Street en Houston, Texas, súper pluma Dat Nguyen (19-3, 6 Nocáuts) buscará derrocar invicto Miguel Flores (21-0, 9 Nocáuts) en el evento principal de una PBC TOE-TO-TOE MARTES en FS1 & FOX Deportes.
Nguyen de Vero Beach ha estado trabajando duro en el campo de entrenamiento en un esfuerzo por asegurar una victoria que defina su carrera.
“El campamento ha sido genial. Nunca he tenido uno mejor,” dijo Nguyen. “Esta vez, Puedo configurar el campo de entrenamiento de la manera en que quería que me entrenaran, así que todo ha sido perfecto.. Conseguir un buen combate era mi principal preocupación, y tuve uno de los mejores compañeros de entrenamiento para esta pelea. He estado entrenando con un luchador de clase mundial, Samuel Neequaye. Es un superligero y un luchador muy fuerte que lanzaba puñetazos en racimos y no dio un paso atrás.. Creo que es el mejor luchador de Ghana en este momento.. Hacer sparring con un luchador de alto calibre como él me ha convertido en un luchador más astuto y fuerte.. He luchado 10 rondas dos veces, pero siempre fue con poca antelación. Nunca estuve preparado para eso, pero este campamento lo he entrenado 10 rondas varias veces contra un compañero de sparring de clase mundial que dijo que ya estaba en forma de pelea cuando comenzamos a entrenar.”
Por ese tipo de campamento, Nguyen siente que tiene la mejor oportunidad para esta victoria.
“Me siento fuerte y mentalmente fresco y de buen humor.. Sé que el trabajo duro ya se hizo en el gimnasio., sparring y el trabajo en la carretera. Dios tiene un plan para mí y parece que todo está encajando en las últimas semanas del campamento.. me siento bendecido, y listo para brindarles a los fanáticos un gran espectáculo, así que sintonicen.”
Nguyen, quien ha sido un profesional para 13 año, sabe que una victoria sobre Flores lo pondrá en posición de la gran pelea que ha estado codiciando durante años,
” Una victoria significaría mejores cosas para mí y mi familia.. He luchado toda mi carrera para llegar a este punto, así que no voy a perder el enfoque ahora.. Jr.Middleweight prospect Daquan Arnett partners with AC Sports Management

Daquan Arnett (15-1, 9 Nocáuts) has hired Adrian Clark, owner of AC Sports Management, LLC as his primary representative. Arnett has been out of the ring for 15 month (and counting). He is counting on Clark to get the ball rolling and get his promising career on track.

“I know I am going to be world champion, its just a matter of when. Once an opportunity presents itself, I am going to take full advantage. Bringing on AC is a plus because of how young and ambitious he is. He works in the best interest of the fighters,” said Arnett
Clark, 30 de Dallas, Texas is known for his work with Jerry Belmontes, James de la Rosa, Will Tomlinson (Australia) y más recientemente, Willie Monroe Jr.. He is also the author of the book, Protect Yourself at All Times: A Guide for Professional Boxers.
“Daquan is a world class fighter and a guy who understands the business of boxing. He will be in contention for something big by early next year. I am honored that he thought to hire me.”
Despite the lay-off, Daquan is still young (24 años) and has stayed in the gym. He is now training in Dallas, TX with friend, Errol Spence Jr.
The fighting pride of Orlando (Florida), Arnett was a decorated amateur and since turning pro in 2011, he has put together a solid resumè. En su última 8 peleas, four of Arnett’s opponents were undefeated. The only loss of his career came in 2014 against Eddie Gomez.
Arnett is looking to make his return to the ring in April or May.
