The bout is historic in that it will not only determine the first NEF women’s champion, but the fight will represent the first female MMA title matchup ever held on Maine soil.

Our women’s division has grown so much in the past couple of years,” ladite NEF co-propriétaire et promoteur Nick DiSalvo. “It was time to add a title picture to the mix. This is the first of what we hope to be many female title fights between superior athletes in the NEF cage.

She dropped a hard-fought decision to Rachael Joyce (3-0) last September atNEF 25.Borga returned to Maine a few weeks later to win a decision over Brianne Genschel (0-1), delivering an impressive, dominant performance against the black belt. Borga trains out of Champions MMA in Lakeland, Florida and is currently on a three-fight win streak. She is the holder of two regional titles won in her home state, and she is looking to add a third belt to her collection on Avril 29.

If I haven’t already done so, this fight will solidify that I am the best in the Northeast, and I’ll be coming for the rest,” Kenneson declared. “She’s all for show. She’s about to feel what I’m capable of and she’s not going to like it.

Introducing Austin “The Dream” Dulay

Nashville, TN (Mars 16, 2017) – On paper, lightweight Austin “Le rêve” Dulay’s record is parallel to many up and coming fighters.

The Henderson, TN native is 8-0 avec 6 KO, five of which came in the opening round. He’s been matched properly as he continues to gain experience in the paid ranks. What sets the skillful Dulay apart from other prospects from the south however is his success as an amateur and time spent in the gym with some of boxing’s best trainers and fighters.

Comme un amateur, Dulay won more than 120 combats, losing just 13 fois. He was a two-time Regional Golden Gloves champion, former Regional Boxer of the Year and captured a silver medal at the Junior Olympics. Plus récemment, Dulay got tremendous experience during a six month stint in California where he trained at the Robert Garcia Boxing Academy.

Pendant ce temps,, he sparred with then featherweight champion Jesus Cuellar, current pound for pound star Mikey Garcia and lightweight contender Ivan Redkach. He also worked out with Virgil Hunter while on the west coast. He considers his time with Garcia and Hunter, both Trainer of the Year winners, invaluable.

Vendredi soirée, Dulay looks to run his record to 9-0 when he meets hard-nosed Cincinnati, OH based veteran Micah Branch in a six round contest. The fight headlines Tri-Star Boxing’s “St Paddy’s Day Fight at the Fairgrounds” at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds Sports Arena in Nashville, TN.

Branch has never been knocked out and faced a plethora of quality fighters, making each of them work for a victory. A knockout over Branch would be nice however the ultimate goal is for Dulay to separate himself from other up and comers by showcasing his all-around skills.

“I have no doubt that Austin is a very good prospect," a déclaré Matt Young, CEO of Tri-Star Boxing. “While it is true that some fighters build their records for an extended period of time because they haven’t developed their skills, Austin’s got a great amateur pedigree. He sparred with multiple world champions and took instruction from two of the best boxing trainers on the planet. I believe once the fans see him fight any stigmas attached to being a boxer based in the south go out the window.”

The Dulay-Branch fight tops a six bout card beginning at 7 h. Billets à partir de $25 are on sale now by going to tristarboxing.com/tickets.

She made her amateur boxing debut last year.

The heavyweight brawlers Kauffman and Mansour will look to go through each other on their way to the top of the division. Here is what the fighters and their trainers had to say Jeudi à Reading:
TRAVIS KAUFFMAN
This is a fight that has been building for a while. There will be fireworks in the ring vendredi nuit.
I accepted this fight because of the caliber of fighter that Amir is. Come fight night, it is going to be a war.
I made a lot of sacrifices for this fight. We have prepared for the best Mansour to show up in the ring. I can’t fall asleep for five seconds in this fight or else I can get stopped. I think that Amir is one of the most feared and avoided heavyweights in the world.
AMIR MANSOUR
I got myself a bottle of anti-aging juice. I’m ready for this fight and excited to give the fans another show.
“Je adore la boxe. I don’t fight bums. I love to make sparks fly every time I step in there. Everyone knows what they’re going to see vendredi nuit.
This is a great opportunity for me as I continue my quest for the heavyweight championship of the world. Travis is a tough guy, and he has a scientist in his corner, but it won’t be enough vendredi.
Naazim RICHARDSON, Kauffman’s Trainer
Mansour is one worddangerous. He is dangerous at all times.
This is not a comfortable fight. You have to be prepared to deal with a man like Mansour. We put together a plan to negate his attributes.
I am trying to fine tune Travisweapons. The Arreola fight opened eyes, this fight will open doors.

DANNY DAVIS, Mansour’s Trainer

Amir and Travis have sparred each other in the past and those sessions were very exciting and I’m expecting that same type of action in the ring vendredi nuit.

This is going to be a great heavyweight brawl. These styles are going to clash for something great for the fans.

FORMER WRESTLING STANDOUTS SET TO THROW DOWN AT NEF 28

POUR DIFFUSION IMMÉDIATE: Lewiston, Maine (Mars 15, 2017) – Combats Nouvelle-Angleterre (NEF) présente son prochain événement d'arts martiaux mixtes “NEF 28: INVINCIBLE” Samedi, Avril 29, 2017 au Colisée Androscoggin Bank à Lewiston, Maine. Plus tôt aujourd'hui,, the fight promotion announced the addition of a pair of amateur bouts to the card. Ken Dunn(0-4) is set to face Eddie DeRoche (0-1) in a catchweight bout and double amateur debut fighters Caleb Austin (0-0) of Rumford, Maine and James Ploss (0-0) from Kaze Dojo in Lancaster, NH are set to tangle in a feature flyweight bout.

Caleb Austin is a two-time Maine state wrestling champion and a member of the exclusive “200 Wins Club,” a rare feat in Maine wrestling. Austin recently completed his high school career with an overall record of 208-11. Caleb’s father, Eric Austin—also a former Maine state wrestling champion—is an undefeated veteran of the cage, having gone 2-0 in NEF back in 2012. Comme son père, Caleb is preparing to put his wrestling on display for the NEF fans in his debut on April 29e.

“I’ve wrestled my entire life and grown-up around the NEF community,” stated Austin when reached for comment. “I’ve been waiting a long time to turn 18 to become eligible to compete in the sport of mixed martial arts like my father did. I’m excited to put my skills to the test, represent Rumford and put on a show in the NEF cage. Je suis prêt. "

Austin’s opponent, James Ploss, trains with Greg Williams at the well-known Kaze Dojo in Lancaster, New Hampshire. Several NEF veterans with names familiar to fans, including Allan Josselyn, Mike Bezanson and Alex Walker, hail from the Kaze Dojo. Ploss is committed to carrying on the tradition of strong debuts from the White Mountains gym and following through on a personal promise in the process.

“Fighting is real personal to me,” Ploss stated when reached for comment. “I promised the man that raised me that I would fight. He died shortly after that. I want to prove to him and myself that I can be successful in this sport. My goal is to inspire others to achieve.”

Eddie DeRoche wrestled alongside Austin for Mountain Valley High School in Rumford, Maine. During his time there, DeRoche was a two-time state finalist. He made his NEF debut in June 2016 at “NEF 24: PROMISED LAND” in a losing effort against Skyler Bang. Reinvigorated at the opportunity to make up for his debut, DeRoche is committed to finding his first win in the NEF cage on April 29e at NEF 28.

“My first fight was a great learning experience,” stated DeRoche, when reached for comment. “I appreciated it for what it was and have made the necessary adjustments to make sure I come out on top when I step back into the NEF cage for the second time on April 29e."

DeRoche’s opponent, Ken Dunn, is also looking for redemption at NEF 28. Dunn has made three prior trips to the NEF cage since debuting with the promotion back in 2015 and is hungry for his first win inside the NEF hexagon.

“I want to show NEF fans that I’m worthy of a rematch and title shot at Velado and that strap,” stated Dunn when reached for comment. “Eddie Deroche is a worthy adversary. I’m excited to compete against him. It’s a long way to the top if you want to rock and roll—and I ain’t stopping until I get there.”
