The championship bout is the first major sanctioning body championship bout in Atlantic City in almost three years. (Kovalev vs Hopkins, Listopad 8, 2014).
LaManna will be looking to win his first belt in the welterweight division. A win will propel him into the rankings as he looks for a high profile bout later this year.
The 25 year-old LaManna has a record of 23-2 z dziewięciu nokautów, and he is currently riding a two fight win streak, and is undefeated in 2017.

“I respect all fighters, but he’s talking a little smack,” Smith said right after both fighters weighed in at exactly 140 funtów. “It doesn’t matter where we fight. I’ll fight him in his own backyard if I have to.”

Former national amateur champion Kenneth Sims Jr. (12-0, 4 KO) will look to remain unbeaten when he meets aggressive five-year pro Roland Chinea (14-1-1, 6 KO) w kooperacji z ośmioma rundami.
