The championship bout is the first major sanctioning body championship bout in Atlantic City in almost three years. (Kovalev vs Hopkins, Ноември 8, 2014).
LaManna will be looking to win his first belt in the welterweight division. A win will propel him into the rankings as he looks for a high profile bout later this year.

“I respect all fighters, but he’s talking a little smack,” Smith said right after both fighters weighed in at exactly 140 фунти. “It doesn’t matter where we fight. I’ll fight him in his own backyard if I have to.”

Former national amateur champion Kenneth Sims Jr. (12-0, 4 КО) will look to remain unbeaten when he meets aggressive five-year pro Roland Chinea (14-1-1, 6 КО) in the eight-round co-feature.
