For 29-year-old Young, the fight against Gaballo represents him getting one step closer to his dream of a world title after years as a contender.

Argentinian WBA super welterweight interim champion Brian Carlos Castaño (14-0, 10 КО) travels to France to make his first world championship title defense against challenger and former EBU titleholder Cedric Vitu (46-2, 19 КО) live from La Seine Musicale, Парижде, Франция.

Back in July, Castaño got his biggest win to date when he defeated Michel Soro in Evian, Франция. Castaño is arguably the most gifted Argentine boxer to come along in many years. Prior to turning pro in 2012 he was highly regarded as an amateur.

I prepared for little different things to fight Mikey but once I get in the ring, it’s going to be Mikey and me and you’ll see how it’s going to go down.
“My hand injury took place over the course of sparring. We were changing sparring partners two rounds at a time. I hit one of them at some point and the next morning [the injury] blew up. I didn’t really feel it at the time when I hurt it.

“I studied [Relikh] a lot so I expect the same type of performance that I’ve studied, based off what he’s done in his past fights and what he did with me in our last fight. I know he’s going to come with all those tools in to the ring so I expect that and my team has prepared exactly for that.

The 10-round main event between extremely aggressive junior welterweights O’Connor and Claggett figures to be a barn-burner from the opening bell to the end. Neither fighter takes a step backwards, nor do they ever stop firing punches, which makes for an incredibly entertaining, can’t miss showdown.
“I’m going to pick Claggett apart,” the 32-year-old O’Connor predicted. “A lot is at stake and that’s why I pushed for this fight. I could have fought an easier opponent, but I didn’t want to. I’m going to break into the elite level of boxing and this is a step towards that.”

USA Boxing Announces Rosters for USA vs. IRL Northeast Boxing Tour

New York’s Premier Amateur Boxing Tournament “New York Metro Qualifier: The Road to the Garden” Opens with a Bang!

World champion Iran Barkley and five-time Golden Gloves champion David Villar were among the luminaries witnessing the events, along with former New York State Athletic Commissioner Melvina Lathan.
