The main event of LFA 51 will bring a highly-anticipated women’s world title fight to the San Joaquin Valley. The headliner will see undefeated LFA women’s flyweight champion Sabina “Colombian Queen” Mazo defend her title against LFA women’s flyweight top contender Jaimee “Queenie” Nievera. Mazo (5-0) is the 21-year-old LFA women’s flyweight champion that took the MMA world by storm in 2017. The Colombian wunderkind signed with LFA when she was 19-years-old and quickly burst onto the global scene at LFA 9. This happened when she knocked out 82nd Airborne Army veteran Jamie Thorton with a jaw-dropping head kick that went viral on mainstream media and MMA media outlets alike. The Kings MMA product doubled-down in her sophomore appearance for LFA by knocking out Minnesota National Guard member Linsey Williams with a nearly identical first round head kick at LFA 23. די “Colombian Queen” finally received her crown this past April. The title winning performance came courtesy of a unanimous decision over Shannon Sinn at LFA 37, which saw Mazo provide a brilliant display boxing and clinch work, as well as her signature Muay Thai skills. The Medellín, Colombia native now looks to begin her reign as champion with another masterful performance at LFA 51.

Nievera (7-4) earned her shot at LFA gold this past June with a dominant LFA debut win against the 2016 RFA Fans’ Choice Awards “ויסקוק פון די יאר” winner Katy Collins. The unanimous decision win came in Collins’ hometown of Branson, Missouri at LFA 42 just a few months after Collins had been ranked #4 on AXS TV’s inaugural women’s pound-for-pound rankings. The win immediately caught the attention of UFC matchmakers and Nievera was offered a main event spot on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series against Antonina Shevchenko. The 33-year-old Bellator veteran showed her gameness by accepting the fight on a week’s notice against Shevchenko, who is an undefeated MMA prospect, Muay Thai world champion, and the older sister of UFC #1 contender Valentina Shevchenko. Nievera displayed a ton of heart and skill, but did not get the result she wanted. The Union City, California native now has a chance to flip the script with a title winning performance in front of her home crowd at LFA 51.

Team USA Advances 3 to Youth World Championships Finals

BUDAPEST, אונגארן (ויגוסט 28, 2018) – On the eighth day of competition at the 2018 Youth World Championships in Budapest, אונגארן, Team USA advanced three boxers to the championship bouts, ווייַלע Isamary Aquino(Universal City, טעקסאַס) picked up her second Youth World Championships bronze medal.

פליוועיגהט Asa Stevens (Waianea, האַוואַיי) started the Americans off on a winning note with a 3-2 win over Bhavesh Kattimani of India to advance to the championship bout. Stevens will be looking to become the first flyweight Youth World Champion for Team USA since Shakur Stevenson won in 2014 when he steps into the ring on Friday against England’s Ivan Price, די 2018 European Champion.

2015 Junior World Champion Heaven Garcia (El Monte, קאַליף.) revenged her quarterfinal loss to Kazakhstan’s Zhansaya Abdraimova at last year’s Youth World Championships by taking the rematch with a 3-2 באַשלוס. Garcia will join Stevens on the second day of finals, as she will face Anamika Urang of India, די 2018 Asian Confederation silver medalist.

The third American to advance to the finals, Iyana Verduzco (לאס אנדזשעלעס, קאַליף.), continued her impressive World Championships debut with a 4-1 victory over Aycan Guldgai of Turkey. Verduzco will be the first member of Team USA to box in the finals, as she will take on Aizada Yeslyamgali, די 2018 Asian Confederation silver medalist, אויף דאנערשטיג.

Aqunio, the final member of Team USA to box in the semifinals, fell short of advancing to the championship bouts against Sakshi of India. This marks Aquino’s second Youth World Championships bronze medal after taking home the bronze at last year’s Youth World Championships.

Team USA will leave these World Championships with four medals total and have been under the leadership of National Junior and Youth Coach Augie Sanchez(לאַס וועגאַס, נעוו.) throughout this tournament, מיט Timothy Back (Cincinnati, אָהיאָ), Eliza Olson (Redwood, קאַליף.) און Rosario Solis (Irving, טעקסאַס) serving as assistant coaches.

World-Rated Super Middleweight Aslambek ‘The Hulk’ Idigov Returns to the Ring on September 5 in Grozny, Russia against Daniel Wanyonyi

World-rated Russian super middleweight prospect Aslambek “The Hulk” Idigov will return to action on Wednesday, סעפּטעמבער 5, in his hometown of Grozny, רוסלאַנד, against former African champion Daniel Wanyonyi for the WBA Asian Championship.

Idigov (13-0, 5 קאָס), רייטאַד #14 דורך די וובאָ, will face the experienced Kenyan Wanyonyi (27-12-2, 22 קאָס) at the five-star Grozny City Hotel in Grozny, and televised live in Russia on Match TV.

In his 11-year career, Wanyonyi has held the Kenyan Middleweight, interim East & Central African Professional Boxing Federation Middleweight, and African Boxing Union Light Heavyweight Championships.

Undefeated Idigov, who trains in Detroit with Javan SugarHill Steward and co-trainer Rick Phillips, at Kronk Gym, was last seen winning an impressive unanimous 10-round decision over once-beaten Detroiter James Ballard. He won the IBO Youth Super Middleweight Championship in December 2016 with a unanimous decision over countryman Igor Selivanov.

The 22-year-old says he’s closing in on his dream of a world championship.

“I am in great condition for this fight, training at the Kronk Gym in Detroit has done wonders for me,"ער האט געזאגט. “I am very excited about my next fight in September, climbing up the ranks and challenging for the world title some time next year.”

Idigov’s promoter, Dmitriy Salita, says that the Idigov’s remarkable strength and power make him a serious force at 168 לבס.

Popular welterweight up and comer Mark Reyes Jr. of Tampa challenges experienced Panamanian Edwin Gamboa in an eight rounder for the ABF Continental Americas welterweight title.

A multi-time champion as an amateur, Reyes has shined thus far in the pros, compiling a perfect 7-0 רעקאָרד מיט 5 ווינס דורך נאַקאַוט. Reyes appears to be a star in the making however he’ll be facing his toughest foe to date.

Former world champion and St. Petersburg native Noemi “La Rebelde” Bosques returns to her hometown for the first time in more than two years to face ultra-tough Crystal Hoy in a six round super flyweight contest for the ABF Continental Americas title.

Among his many distinctions, Pulev is a former two-time European and IBF International Heavyweight Champion. He stands 6’ 4 ½” and weighs in around 240 לבס. Fury hails from Manchester and is the current BBBofC British Heavyweight Champion and is trained by his father, Peter Fury. The 23-year-old stands 6’ 6” tall and also weighs in around 240 לבס. Ukrainian Korean Puncher Arnold Khegai Sets His Sights on WBO Champ Isaac Dogboe

Based on his performance this past weekend, it would be understandable for most of the world’s 122-lb fighters to want to avoid UK-based WBO Super Bantamweight Champion Isaac Dogboe… Not Arnold Khegai.

Khegai, the ethnic Korean, Ukrainian-born #12-rated WBO contender, is calling out Dogboe.

“I feel I am the best super bantamweight in the world!” said the confident Khegai. “I want to prove my point by fighting the most avoided fighters in the division. Bring on Dogboe!"

Last Saturday night at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, קאַליפאָרניאַ, the undefeated Dogboe (20-0, 14 קאָס) scored an eye-opening TKO 1 over challenger Hidenori Otake of Japan. Dogboe looked to be a serious force while dominating his foe and dropping him twice with relative ease.

CRADLE OF CHAMPIONS chronicles three inspiring fighters—James Wilkins, Nisa Rodriguez, and Titus Williams—as they navigate the 10-week tournament and fight their way among 500 boxers from the five boroughs, all vying for the coveted title of Golden Gloves champion. Through the three intertwined yet unique narratives, the film explores the pressures and sacrifices on the arduous journey toward boxing greatness.

Shot in a cinema verité-style with no voice-over narration, the character-driven narrative examines what it means to “fight for your life,” not only for the boxers, but also for their coaches, mentors, teammates and loved ones. CRADLE OF CHAMPIONS includes genuine characters and intimate revelations set against the gritty urban landscape of New York City to create a powerful and layered account of the 2015 טורנאַמאַנט.

Ruben Villa Remains Unbeaten After Friday NIght’s Unanimous Decision Win

Villa used his signature quickness to batter Gonzalez throughout the 8-round fight.

“I was able to find the range from the outside and also get inside a little bit,” said Villa after the fight. “He was a little bit awkward, but I still found ways to land combinations.”

The southpaw from Salinas, קאַליף. hammered Gonzalez with accurate jabs and punishing left hands. In nearly every round, Villa, 21, rocked Gonzalez on his heels with a variety of punches from all sorts of angles.
