NOVA YORK – Maig 24, 2016 – The weekend of June 11th, boxing’s most influential women will gather for brunch in the Big Apple for the 7th Raging Babe event of its kind, dubbed New York, Nova York. Attendees will include promoters, network executives, public relations representatives, referees, fighters and others, and come from diverse backgrounds, cultures and levels of experience. Women who have attended Raging Babe events have networked, forged business and personal relationships and have been inspired by the stories of success and persistence shared by the hundreds of attendees over the past few years. There may be no woman that better personifies a story of success and persistence than Kathy Duva, who will be honored with the Raging Babe Luminary Award at the brunch.

Duva, the CEO of Main Events, and a mother of three, has been involved with boxing for nearly forty years, entering the business while in college with her then boyfriend Dan Duva. The Duvas teamed up to promote some of boxing’s top talent over the years under the Main Events banner, including Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis, Pernell Whitacker, Arturo Gatti and Fernando Vargas, all while cultivating powerful relationships with HBO and other networks. Kathy continued her husband’s legacy after his passing in 1996, becoming one of the most recognized figures in boxing. Més recentment, Duva and Main Events have developed one of boxing’s most avoided superstars in Sergey Kovalev.

En June 11th, the heels of Raging Babes from across the East Coast and beyond, hit the pavement in the “Concrete Jungle,” Nova York, New York for the first New York eventen tres anys.

An intimate, exclusive affair, this spring’s Raging Babe Brunch, dubbed New York, New York will once again bring together boxing’s most influential women to network, and honor the sport’s trailblazers: those women who have broken the glass ceiling and transcended traditional gender roles in business, and in particular, en la boxa.

WBO Champion Amanda Serrano calls out IBF Champion Jennifer Han for a world title unification bout

A l'abril 22, 2016, history was made in Puerto Rico’s professional boxing, when a female boxing match was the featured bout of the evening, held in the city of Trujillo Alto, where the four-time world champion in three divisions, Amanda ‘The Real Deal’ Serrano ( 28-1-1, 21 Nocauts ) defeated the number 6th ranked, Edina ‘DNA’ Kiss of Budapest, Hungary by TKO in the fourth round.
Just a week later, IBF featherweight world champion, Jennifer Han of El Paso, Texas, was also in a main event match in front of her people from El Paso, and defeated Colombian, Calixta Silgado via unanimous decision in a ten round fight.
“I think the timing is perfect!” Amanda Serrano said, “We both come from recent fights, both of us scored victories and are uninjured and in great condition. Women’s boxing and our fans deserve to see who is the best featherweight in a unification bout”.
Han ( 14-3-1, 1 Nocauts ) has fought her last four fights in her hometown of El Paso, Texas.
“It’s funny because a few weeks ago I had my first fight in Puerto Rico, and have fought in the United States, Suïssa, Argentina and Dominican Republic. True Champions often leave their comfort zone to prove they are the real deal in boxing. Sempre estic a punt,” va dir Serrano, who is the current WBO featherweight World Champion.

Marston to Challenge Tshabalala for Her World Crown on July 2nd

Over the past week or so the World’s press have been focusing heavily on the recently announced 9º July Tyson Fury-Wladimir Klitschko WBO-WBA-IBO Unified Heavyweight Championships rematch. Quite rightly so, it’s a huge fight, however just one week earlier, an equally World significant unification bout is also set to take place right here in the United Kingdom.

 

Al juliol 2nd, at the Arena UK in Grantham, Lincolnshire, Món #15 and British #1 ranked Marianne Marston will not only be challenging South Africa’s World Boxing Federation (WBFed) Super Bantamweight World Champion Gabisile Tshabalala for her coveted crown, but will also be aiming to secure the World Boxing Union (UMC), Women’s International Boxing Association (WIBA) and Universal Boxing Organization (UBO) World accolades.

 

London based Marston, who was originally due to challenge Unathi Myekeni for the Bantamweight version of the WBFed strap back in December, that was until Myekeni was forced to withdraw following a hand injury, is cleary relishing the belated opportunity, com va fer clar quan va parlar anteriorment.

 

“I cannot thank WBFed President Howard Goldberg enough for making this happen, like me he was so dissapointed when Unathi (Myekeni) pulled out injured last year.

 

In addition to Howard, I would also lke to thank WIBA President Ryan Wissow, WBU President Don Lewis and Sebastien Pitois from the UBO, as they have been so supportive throughout my career, so to also challenge for their Championships really is so special for me.

 

I’m forty two now, so honestly thought after Unathi pulled out, that’s it for me, I’ll never get the chance to fight for a World title, OK that’s not quite true, I could have fought for a vacant title, but to me that’s just not good enough, Vull lluitar amb els millors, I want to beat the World Champion.

 

I’ve seen video of Gabisile, when she fought Shannon (O'Connell) a 2013, but would very much like to find any video of her when she won the World title last year. I know how much I have changed, fight wise, des 2013 so really want to see if there are any changes to her style or tactics.

 

From what I have seen, she’s a classy fighter, very quick hands. When she fought Shannon, she was mainly counter punching, which would suit me, but for some reason I have a feeling she will have a very different approach as a defending Champion.

 

De qualsevol manera, this will be a great fight for the fans, there’s such a contrast in our styles and in my view it’s those differences in style and tactical approach that will make this such a great fight to watch.

 

British boxing is booming, we have so many World Champions at the moment, Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, Kell Brook, Carl Frampton, Llegeix Selby, Liam Smith, Jamie McDonnell, Llegeix Haskins, De Tony Moran, Craig Docherty, Terry Flanagan, Anthony Crolla, James DeGale and of course my old gym mate at the TKO, Billy Joe Saunders.

 

Obviously they’re all men, so I want to redress the deficit a little and join them, as well as be the first British Female boxer to be crowned World Champion since Jane Couch beat Jaime Clampitt for the IWBF title in 2004.”

Amanda Serrano Sends an Ultimatum to All World Champions in her Division

Nova York – Campió del món en dos temps, Amanda ‘The Real Deal’ Serrano from Carolina, Port Ric, but now living in Brooklyn, will be fighting on Febrer 17 in Manhatthan for the vacant WBO World female featherweight title against former world champion, Olivia Gerula of Canada.
The ambitious Puerto Rican lefty wants to become the undisputed world champion in the featherweight division, and has a message to the current title holders.
“Ara, I’m only focused on Olivia, but at the same time I’m very confident about bringing that belt to Brooklyn and Puerto Rico on Febrer 17,” said Amanda Serrano, who is promoted by DiBella Entertainment.
“Once I get that beatiful belt, we will be looking to unify. There is Jennifer Han, who is the IBF world champion, Soledad Matthysse is the WBC and WBA champion, and she is fighting Jelena Mrdjenovich. I want the winner!”
“Unifying all four featherweight titles is the only thing we care about. If we fail to make that happen, I will go down to 122 to fight for another world title, and become a four division legitimate world champion just like Miguel Cotto”.
Serrano (26-1-1, 19 KO) vs. Gerula (17-15-2, 3KO) showdown will take place at the famed B.B. King Blues Club and Grill marking the first world title fight in the club’s history.

HILLYARD, Marston & Esdeveniment Khan títol mundial Batalles Co-Titular 6thDec Londres

Promotor de Londres Mark Lyons ha unit forces amb el Campionat campanya Marianne Marston per co-promoure una enorme abans de Nadal esdeveniment, ben anomenat LET comenci la batalla, a York Hall a Bethnal Green, Londres, diumenge, la 6º desembre.

 

Al capdavant de la targeta de quinze baralla són no menys de tres batalles del Campionat del Món;

 

De Bradford Tasif Khan fa la seva primera incursió en l'escenari mundial, quan davant al ghanès Isaac Quaye per al campionat pes súper mosca de la Unió Mundial de Boxa.

 

El vigent Mundial de Boxa Súper Campió Unió Internacional de pes mitjà, Jeezy, D'Essex George 'Hithard' Hillyard pretén afegir la corona vacant de la UMC Mundial a la seva col·lecció, quan s'enfronti a un rival encara no té nom.

A l'agost Marianne Marston, Shaunagh Brown i Sam Smith van fer història quan tots ells van lluitar en el mateix esdeveniment a York Hall, ja que era la primera vegada que els tres combats femenins van tenir lloc en un esdeveniment professional al Regne Unit, bé en el 6º Desembre aquest registre aconseguirà trencat, com unir-se a Marianne a la targeta serà exestrella de Gran Hermano i multi reptador Àngel 'The Entertainer' McKenzie, Campió de pes mosca British Masters súper i el Campionat Mundial reptador Juliette hivern i fent-la més benvingut retorn a l'esport Jamie Johnson.
