John Vera stops Cleotis Pendarvis in opening round

Vera vs. Pendarvis suddenly and surprisingly ended midway through the opening round, when Pendarvis (21-8-2, 9 Kos), a former USBA champion, stopped throwing punches and went to his knees. He was counted out with what is believed to be a hand injury.

“Well,” Vera (20-1, 12 Kos) said after the fight, “the way my fight ended was anticlimactic. I was feeling really good and calm in there. I was just finding my range, establishing my jab and calculating. He threw a jab to the body and I blocked it with my elbow. I felt his knuckle hit my elbow. Vera has now won his last two fight since suffering his only loss as a professional back in 2018, when he traveled to France as a world rated fighter to take onMichel Soro(31-2-1) for the WBA Interim junior middleweight title, in which Vera lost a 12-round unanimous decision.

In Vera’s previous fight this past in August, “The Phenom” won a 6-round unanimous decision in Las Vegas overRavshan Hudaynazarov (17-2), a former world-rated fighter from Uzbekistan.

“I would like to get in the ring as soon as possible,” Vera added. “I wanted rounds, so it’s time to get right back in there. I’m unscathed and in shape.”

LAS VEGAS (Lapkritis 12, 2020) – An undefeated trio of Cuban prospects will be showcased Thursday night, Lapkritis 20oji, on another installment of RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS®, at Marinaterra Hotel Spa & Event Center in San Carlos, Sonora, Meksika.

The 10-round main event pits undefeated Californian Juan “Tiesiog verslas” Baradžas (11-0, 7 Kos) against Mexican knockout artist Bruno “Tiburon” Sandoval (21-4-1, 17 Kos), į laisvą Pasaulio bokso tarybą (WBC) Latino super middleweight title.

Baradžas, who won 27 apie 30 amateur matches, takes advantage of his unusual size for a super middleweight, stovi 6′ 3″ with an 80″ REACH. Sandoval was the Interim WBC Latino super middleweight champion after defeating 24-8 Deivas Casseres (24-8) į 2 ½ years ago by way of a first-round knockout.

The three unbeaten Cuban fighters on the Nov. 19th card, all living in Guatemala, are middleweight Yoevel “La Joya” Gomez (2-0, 2 Kos), Super Gaidys Ariel Perez De La Torre (3-0-0, 3 Kos) ir sunkiasvoris Geovany “L Bestia” Bruzon (2-0, 2 Kos).

Undefeated lightweight prospect Jamaine “The Technician” Ortiz Set for Friday’s homecoming fight

WORCESTER, Mišios. (Vasaris 26, 2020) – Undefeated World Boxing Council (WBC) Youth World lightweight championJamaine “The Technician” Ortiz (12-0, 6 Kos) plans to make a major statement this Friday when he fights at home in Worcester, Masačusetsas, for the first time as a professional boxer.

Ortiz will headline aCES Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS® įvykis, promoted by Classic Entertainment and Sports (BEE), at the historic Worcester Palladium.

To me, I only have one job – win!  And I’d like to win in spectacular fashion. I want to show everybody at the Palladium and those watching on UFC FIGHT PASS that it’s all real, no hype behind my name. Everybody watching Friday night will know what I bring into the ring.”

Ortiz, 23, is a lightning-quick, gifted lightweight with tremendous upside. A decorated amateur, Ortiz is a rising star in what many believe will be a breakout year for him.

“Jamaine certainly hasn’t reached his full potential,” Ortiz’ head trainerRocky Gonzalez commented. “He’s still young and all he really needs is more experience. He’s a good listener with great hand speed, and he switches (stances) easily. And he really believes in himself and it’s hard to beat somebody like that. I can’t teach heart, but he has that as well. I don’t know how far he can go, dar ne, but he’s talented and nowhere close to being a finished product.”

The 23-year-old will not be defending his WBC Youth World title, because he will relinquish his belt in April, when turns 24 and becomes ineligible in terms of the age requirement (23 and younger).

“The Technician” is fine tuning his game and he’s already looking ahead to the not too distant future.

Fighting for the first time as a professional in the United States, the 24-year-old Bornea (15-0, 1o KOs) went into the fight rated No. 10 Tarptautinės bokso federacijos (IBF) ir Nr. 15 Pasaulio bokso asociacijos (WBA).  He is a former IBF World Youth and World Boxing Oriental Youth super flyweight champion.

Last night on a show presented by Roy Jones Jr. (RJJ) Boxing Promotions, Bornea made a name for himself outside his native Philippines with an impressive victory against Delgadillo (11-1-2, 2 Kos), a former World Boxing Council (WBC) United States super flyweight titlist.

The 10-round main event was split into almost two different fights: Delgadillo effectively jabbed his way to take the early rounds, and he registered a somewhat questionable knockdown in the sixth round. Bornea successfully closed the distance after three rounds, sitting in the pocket and becoming more aggressive as the fight went on.

Bornea won a split decision (96-93 X 2 & 93-96) to become the new NABF super flyweight champion.

“My opponent has smaller but quicker hands,” Dominguez added. “I assume he will try to move rather than stand in front of me. I am working with some faster guys right now to prepare. He is really open to an over-hand right.

“In 2020, I plan to fight often and train hard in the USA. There are many great fighters in the division, but I am preparing and ready to win a championship if given the opportunity”
