EDMONTON, Kanada (April 25, 2018) – Super Channel has announced the formation of a new live boxing series, SUPERBOX LIVE, debuting Saturday, Maj 19, i association med KO Night Boxing LLC, from Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane, Kansas,

 

 

 

International Boxing Association (IBA) Americas flyweight champion Nico Hernandez (4-0, 3 Kos) kommer att ta på Szilveszter Kanalas (14-7, 9 Kos) for the vacant IBA World Flyweight Championship in the 12-round main event.

 

 

 

Wichita-native Hernandez captured a bronze medal at the 2016 OS. Två år sedan, Kanalas became one of the youngest (17) world champions ever, when he defeated fellow Hungarian boxer, Jozsef Ajtai, for the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) Super Flyweight World Championship.

 

 

The card will also feature two heavyweight showdowns as rising Canadian star Oleksandr Teslenko (12-0, 10 Kos) faces an opponent to be determined on the televised broadcast, while Russian heavyweight prospect Andrey Afonin (5-0, 2 Kos) meets veteran Cuban fighter Pedro “El Reguilete” Rodriguez (23-4, 19 Kos).

 

 

 

Additional bouts will soon be announced for the televised portion of the May 19th händelse.

The 10-round main event between extremely aggressive junior welterweights O’Connor and Claggett figures to be a barn-burner from the opening bell to the end. EDMONTON, Kanada (Februari 24, 2018) – This afternoon in the semifinals round finale of the incredibly entertaining World Boxing Super Series (WBSS) turnering, undefeated challengersCallum “värld” Smith (23-0, 17 Kos), den World Boxing Council (WBC) Diamond champion, and late replacement Nieky “The Natural” Holzken (13-0, 10 Kos), square-off in the 12-round super middleweight bout, at Nurnberger Versicherung Arena in Nuremburg, Tyskland.

Smith was the least tested WBSS semifinalist in terms of having faced quality opponents, as well as the youngest at 27. The undefeated Brit is one of four fighting Smith brothers.
I WBSS quarterfinalsna, Smith took a 12-round unanimous decision from previously unbeaten Erik Skoglund to capture the World Boxing Council (WBC) Diamond super middleweight title.
“I gave an interview last week and said it was great there have been no drop-outs,” Smith sade. “Looks like I spoke too soon. We got the call as we were boarding the plane. I am committed to fighting Lördag and will fight whoever the World Boxing Super series puts in front of me.”
The 34-year-old Holzken was preparing to fight Dmitri Chudinov i Lördagens WBSS Super Middleweight Substitute Fight. He has had only four scheduled 10-round matches during his five-year professional career, the most notable being a win by 10-round unanimous decision in 2016 över Farouk Daku (20-9-1) for the vacant BeNeLux super middleweight title.
Holzken is determined to make the most of this opportunity by upsetting Smith, despite his obvious leap in class. “I’ve been waiting for this chance to come,” Holzken commented. “I signed up as a substitute fighter, so I’m in great shape and prepared for Lördag. I’ve watched Callum fight many times. I study everyone in my weight class. He’s a good, fast jaktplan. We’re both big body punchers. It will make for an excellent fight. Callum, you better be ready, because I am, and I’m coming to beat you!”

EDMONTON, Kanada (November 15, 2017) – Double-barrelled boxing action is on tap this week for Canadian boxing fans when Super Channel airs back-to-back Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) händelser denna fredag night and Lördag kväll, live from separate venues in the United States.

Fredagens action is headlined by a 10-round super middleweight clash between former World Boxing Council (WBC) Super mellanvikt världsmästare Anthony “The Dog” Dirrell (30-1-1, 24 Kos), who will be fighting at home in Flint, Michigan, against the only active professional boxer trained by his mother, Denis “Momma’s Boy” Douglin (20-5, 13 Kos), fighting out of New Jersey. The action starts at 10:30 p.m. OCH / 7:30 p.m. PT.
“Douglin has fought a lot of good fighters and I respect him, but he’s standing in the way of my title shot,” Dirrell said. “This is a chance for me to showcase my skills. I’m going for a stoppage, and I think I’m going to get it in the middle rounds. I want to put on a great performance and give the fans something to see. I’m going to get the job done.”
“I’ve taken a lot of fights on short notice and that’s hurt me in the past, but I’ve had ample time and a great training camp to prepare for this fight,” Douglin commented. “I think Dirrell has a problem with guys who aren’t afraid of him and who will actually give him a fight. With my style and determination, I’m going to bring a lot more than he’s expecting. I’m going to bring it for 10 rounds and I know I’ll have my arm raised at the end of the day.”
Two exciting matches are on the “Dirrell vs. Douglin” kort, presented by Salita Promotions and TGB Promotion, kommer att sändas i Kanada uteslutande på Super Channel.

The following evening, commencing at 9 p.m. OCH / 6 p.m. PT live from the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, VM-titel utmanare Julian “J Rock” Williams (23-1-1, 15 Kos), av Philadelphia, will square off against former International Boxing Federation Junior Middleweight World ChampionÄr Han “Socker Shay” Smith (29-8, 12 Kos), who will be fighting at home.
“I took this fight just like I’ve taken every tough fight over the years,” Smith noted. “I constantly challenge myself to the best and I believe Julian Williams is one of the best in the division. If you look at my resume, all I’ve done is fight the best guys, in their prime, so this is nothing new to me. I’ve reached the point where I’ve seen it all. This fight will get me exactly where I need to be, closer to a world title shot.”
“We’ve been working hard for months and I’m ready to get back in the ring,” Williams remarked. “I could fight tomorrow. I know this is an important fight for my career. Ishe is a veteran and he is going to bring his ‘A’ game to try to prove he’s still got it. I’m not going to give him that opportunity. I will be victorious and show that I’m ready to fight the best in the world.”

I 10-runda co-feature, veteran light heavyweight Lionell Thompson (18-4, 11 Kos) takes on unbeaten prospect Earl Newman (10-0-1, 7 Kos).
Thompson is on the trail of a 175-pound world championship and he hasn’t taken the easy road, having challenged the likes of Sergey Kovalev och Radivoje Kalajdzic during his pro career. The 32-year-old out of Buffalo, N.Y.. is coming off a knockout victory over Steve Lovett in his last fight Februari 24. The last time he fought at the Cosmopolitan, he defeated Donovan George by unanimous decision on Sept. 16, 2016.
Newman will be taking a big step forward in taking on his toughest competition to date in Thompson. The 26-year-old Brooklyn-native is coming off a split draw against Paul Parker påSju. 19 after winning his first 10 pro slagsmål.
In the other televised fight a pair of undefeated super featherweight prospects, 2012 Olympisk silvermedaljist från Mongoliet, Tugstsogt Nyambayar (8-0, 8 Kos), who now fights out of Carson, Kalifornien, and Filipino Harmonito “Hammare” Dela Torre (19-0, 12 Kos), battle in a 10-round match.
