“I just want to keep moving myself up and establishing my legacy. I want to distinguish myself from the other welterweights. The winner of this fight will get the spotlight over everyone else in the division.
“I’m doing this for my career, for my legacy and for the fans. Without the fans, there’s no legacy. I’ve been boxing for 21 years of my life and I look forward to having some more great years. I’m proud to be living my dream.
“To get two tremendous fights back-to-back is evidence that I’m on the right track and you could say we’re gaining more power in the sport. I’m getting what I want out of the sport, which are big fights like this.

Antonio Nieves vs. Nikolay Potapov – 10-Round Bantamweight Bout
The co-main event will feature a 10-round battle between top-10 ranked bantamweight contenders Antonio Nieves (17-0-2, 9 Kos) ac Nikolay Potapov (16-0-1, 8 Kos). Nieves is ranked No. 4 yn y WBO, while Potapov is ranked No. 9 gan y WBO, A oes Ddim yn. 10 by WBA and No. 13 gan yr IBF.
Nieves, a top amateur, was a five-time Cleveland Metro Golden Gloves Champion. Yn 2011, he was the National Golden Gloves runner-up and U.S. Nationals Bronze Medalist at 123 bunnoedd.

Potapov had a 14-fight winning streak ended when he boxed still-undefeated prospect Stephon Young (13-0 mynd i mewn) to a 10-round majority draw on April 15, 2016, ar ShoBox. Potapov, who felt he had done more than enough to earn a victory, entered the ring ranked 10fed yn yr IBF, rare for a fighter at that point in his career.
Since the disappointing result against Young, Potapov has fought twice, leaving nothing in the hands of the judges by winning both by early round knockout. He’s coming off a fourth-round TKO over Alexander Saltykov last Rhagfyr. 15.

Wesley Tucker vs. Ed Williams – Eight Round Welterweight Bout

James Gordon Smith vs. Joshua Greer, Jr. – Eight Round Bantamweight Bout

Greer suffered the lone loss of his career in the fifth fight of his career, a majority four-round decision against fellow unbeaten Stephen Fulton ym mis Rhagfyr 2015.

That is the elite company welterweight champions Danny Garcia and Keith Thurman will join when they meet in just the 10fedunification in division history on Dydd Sadwrn, Mawrth 4 on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING on CBS, presented by Premier Boxing Champions, gan Barclays Center, cartref BROOKLYN BOCSIO ™, live on CBS from 9-11 p.m. A/6-8 p.m. PT.

Garcia, the WBC titleholder, and Thurman, the WBA champion, will unify the exact same titles that Leonard (CLlC) and Hearns (WBA) unified in their 1981 Ymladd y Flwyddyn.

GRANADOS: “Definitely. I know I did. He may not admit it. Yeah, I know I had him bloodied a couple times. I know I had him backing up a couple of times. You just know as a fighter when you crack somebody.”

On the passing of top prospect and friend Ed Brown…

GRANADOS: “I believe it was a Dydd Sul. I was in a barbershop…They were like, ‘I heard about your boy.’ And I’m … trying to keep it together. I just called George, our coach. He told me, ’Yeah man, Ed has died. Ed is dead.’ And right there I broke down and cried and screamed to coach, ‘I’m going to win this fight. I’m going to win this fight for him.’”

Shields won her first Olympic Gold when she was 17 years old in the inaugural women’s boxing competition at the London Games in 2012. She defended her title at the 2016 Olympics in Rio, becoming the only American boxer to defend amateur sports’ premier championship.
“Detroit City Gold” marks the return of big-time boxing to the Detroit area, something promoter Dmitriy Salita is proud to be part of.

Szabados challenged for a world title in July 2015 in her ninth professional fight, losing a decision to undefeated WBC Super Middleweight Champion Nikki Adler yn yr Almaen. The native of Miskolc, Hungary has faced two former world champions, Mikaela Lauren ac Noni Tenge, and has won via knockout in three of her last five victories.
