NEW YORK (Août 2, 2021) – Three more exciting matchups have been finalized for the highly-anticipated Jake Paul contre. Tyron Woodley SHOWTIME PPV fight card. The 23-year-old from Manchester is 6-0 avec quatre coups de grâce, having most recently earned a unanimous decision over Jordan Grant in June. Fury will be opposed by Alameda, California’s Taylor, an experienced MMA competitor who dropped his sole pro boxing appearance in 2017 by split-decision. Since losing the title to unbeaten champion Caleb Plant in January 2019, Uzcategui has rebounded to win three of his last four fights, including knockout wins in 2021 over Jaime Hernandez Lopez and Josue Obando.

A native of boxing-rich Buenos Aires, Argentine, Torres (17-3, 5 KOs) enters this fight the winner of his last nine contests dating back to 2018. The 31-year-old will fight in the U.S. for the third time on August 28, having scored stateside victories over Cleotis Pendarvis in August 2020 and Louis Hernandez in February of this year. Torres most recently won a unanimous decision over Alexi Rivera in June as he prepares for his toughest fight to date against Benavídez.

“I’m very pumped up for this fight,” said Torres. “I want to thank my whole team for this opportunity to participate in such an important fight. This is a great chance for me to go to the next level against a great fighter who’s had an exceptional career. I will work very hard to get the victory on August 14 and raise high the flag of Argentina.”

Castro (26-0, 11 KOs) has climbed the rankings since turning pro in 2012 as he seeks a shot at a super bantamweight championship. The Phoenix-native added two victories in 2020, defeating Jesus Ruiz in February before stopping longtime contender Cesar Juarez in four rounds in July. Castro was coming off a 2019 campaign that saw him score three victories, including 10-round unanimous decision triumphs over former title challenger Genesis Servania and veteran contender Mario Diaz.

“I’m very grateful for this opportunity to fight an excellent opponent in Oscar Escandon,” said Castro. “I’m very motivated to put on a great performance in front of my hometown fans. The three-division champion had previously captured titles at flyweight and light flyweight in a career that dates back to 2007. This will be his third career fight in the U.S. and his second to take place at Dignity Health Sports Park.

Olympian Gary Antuanne, Antonio Russell (18-0, 12 KOs) announced his arrival amongst the bantamweight division contenders with a technical decision over former world champion Juan Carlos Payano in December 2020 sur Showtime. The 28-year-old Rodríguez (19-2, 12 KOs) returns to action after dropping a controversial split-decision to Reymart Gaballo last December on SHOWTIME. Fighting out of Manati, Puerto Rico, Rodríguez won the IBF Bantamweight World Title with a unanimous decision victory over Paul Butler in 2018 and successfully defended it against then-unbeaten Jason Moloney. Rodríguez went on to lose the title to unbeaten champion Naoya Inoue in their May 2019 title bout.

The 24-year-old southpaw Vázquez (15-2-1, 7 KOs) was born in Thornton, Col. and now fights out of Las Vegas. The younger brother of former two-time champion Israel Vázquez, he most recently lost to super bantamweight champion Brandon Figueroa last September after having previously scored a stoppage win over Alejandro Moreno in February of 2020. Vázquez turned pro in 2013 and reeled off 14 consecutive wins to begin his career in the paid ranks.

“This is a great opportunity for me,” said Vázquez. “I turned pro at sixteen-years-old, so I took a much needed break after the Brandon Figueroa fight. Now I’m back and more ready than ever. "Pour le moment, je ne suis pas inquiet de ce qui se passe après ce combat. Je ne peux que me concentrer sur ce qui est devant moi. Je suis visionné en tunnel en ce moment. C'est ce que je veux et je ne vois rien en dehors de la victoire en juillet 17.

"Vous allez voir un Jermell Charlo plus développé en juillet 17. Je vous garantis que vous allez voir un meilleur combattant livre pour livre. A tout moment, ce combat pourrait être terminé avec.

This is a big fight, and we are going to box smart. This is a blessing to have an opportunity like this. Fighting onShoBoxis something that I have always dreamed of.”

Martino Jules vs. Aram Avagyan – 8-round Featherweight Bout

The 23-year-old southpaw Jules from Allentown, Pa., is coming off his best victory to date in an ESPN bubble fight last July, earning a majority-decision win over Aleem Jumakhonov. Jules is a 2015 Olympic Trials qualifier and had a 60-15 amateur record since turning pro in 2016 and slowly climbing up the featherweight rankings. Jules was scheduled to make hisShoBox débuts en Janvier, but his opponent fell ill the morning of his fight and the fight was called off.

“I am grateful for getting this fight,” said Jules, who is promoted by Kings Promotions and managed by Trifon Petrov. “This is something I have been waiting for a year now. “I agree that ‘King Tug’ might be better opposition than Yuriorkis Gamboa would have been. But it doesn’t matter if it was Gamboa, ‘King Tug’, or Arnold Schwarzenegger in there with me, it was always going to be the same outcome on Saturday night.

“My hair is orange this week as a dedication to the cause of fighting Multiple sclerosis. One of my friends, Dave, back in New Jersey has it and he told me his story of how he was paralyzed as a kid and also had MS. Then I saw him on the Stairmaster in the gym the next day for like an hour. I saw that and realized there’s no excuses I can make for not being in the gym. I do the different hair colors to make people feel special. I want them to know that I’m fighting for them.

“Nobody in the 130-pound division can beat me. I’m going to continue to prove that every time I step into the ring. I’m going to deliver a dominating performance. Don’t be surprised when I stop him.

“I don’t think this is going past 10 tours. I’m going to keep proving that I have power on Saturday night. I’m not discrediting his skills, but I’m just different.”

Tugstsogt Nyambayar

“I’m really excited for this fight. It’s my first fight at 130 pounds and I want to show what I can do. I’m ready for this opportunity.

“Just know this, we are here to win. My team is here to win. I’m ready for Chris Colbert. C'est tout.

“I don’t care that I’m fighting on short notice at a higher weight. I believe in myself. I can fight at 122, I can fight at 126 and I can fight at 130.

“Jon Fernandez is a good boxer and he’s a good puncher. I don’t know much about him, but I know that he’s Spanish and he’s a tall guy. He hits hard but I’m in the type of condition to be great in this fight.

“I’m sure that on July 3 when people are watching the fight, they will see who the best boxer is. I’m ready for everything. If he wants to fight instead of box, I will fight too. I have the skills. I believe that I am faster than him. I don’t have problems with his height. You can see in my past fights where I was fighting at 144, and I looked good with big boxers too. I don’t have a problem with it. Everybody will have to tune in July 3 sur Showtime, and they will see Michel Rivera beating Jon Fernandez.

“I’ve been waiting for this opportunity for a long time. I’m Dominican, and in the Dominican Republic you don’t get much opportunity. I came here and I am making my name. Everybody will know that I’m ready to fight the top names at 135 – the best boxers. I have the skills and the talent. I’m young and I’m pretty, trop.

“I’m very excited to be here for this fight. Training camp in Madrid and Mexico have been great. We’ve had an outstanding preparation. I’m facing a great opponent in Michel Rivera, but this is the door I need to open to be in the big leagues of boxing. I don’t plan on missing out on this chance.

Restez cohérent avec votre jab.’ Je suis bien plus rapide que lui et je savais qu'il avait une bonne puissance et il essayait de me contrer. Donc je le ferais disparaître et j'utiliserais mon jab de manière cohérente.

Au troisième tour, Lubin a failli mettre fin prématurément à l'action avec un énorme cadre qui avait Rosario sur le pied arrière. Dans les derniers instants de la manche, Lubin a décroché un crochet droit qui a fait vaciller Rosario dans son coin après que la cloche a sonné. Miraculeusement, au prochain tour, Rosario a pu récupérer et a complètement renversé la situation, vacillant Lubin avec un coup du gauche.

L'action s'est encore accrue au sixième tour. Lubin, sentant que Rosario était sensible à l'attaque corporelle, a décroché une combinaison de corps gauche-droite vicieuse qui a envoyé Rosario à genoux dans ce qui s'est finalement avéré être le tournant du combat. "J'ai commencé à lui faire mal au corps dès le début du premier round," les 2016 "Prospect de l'année" a déclaré Lubin. "J'ai commencé par le corps et je l'ai vu grogner. Donc j'ai pu le blesser au corps. Je voulais juste le distraire avec le jab, puis descends. Et j'ai pu le faire sortir. Je savais même s'il se levait après le renversement que le combat était fini. J'ai fait mon travail et suivi ma stratégie de A à Z et j'ai pu réussir comme je le voulais.

"Le moment clé du combat a été quand j'ai réussi à perturber sa concentration. Une fois que j'ai pu le faire, c'était facile pour moi.

“Je me sentais bien là-dedans et je pensais que je gagnais des manches," dit Salazar, dont la séquence de 15 victoires consécutives a pris fin avec un coup de poing. "Mais il a commencé à m'attraper et c'est là qu'il m'a eu avec un uppercut. Cela a fait basculer le combat. Je dois juste retourner au travail et continuer à chercher d'autres opportunités.

J'ai été hors du ring pendant longtemps, donc j'avais besoin d'obtenir ces tours. Mon plan est de me battre pour le titre mondial ensuite. Nous savions qu'il serait mal à l'aise de se battre et délicat. Il me donnait des coups de tête et des coups de coude. C'était une bonne expérience pour moi.
