Alexander Shlemenko (R) is as tough as they come

SINT PETERSBURG, Rusland (April 24, 2018)) – One of the greatest middleweights in mix martial arts history, Alexander “Storm” Shlemenko, returns to The Rage on June 1 aan de kop M-1 Challenge 93 versus Brazilian power-puncher Bruno Silva (17-6-0, M-1: 0-0-0), at Chelyabinsk, Rusland.

A hand-to-hand combat sports and kickboxing specialist, Shlemenko (56-10-0, 1 NC, M-1: 6-0-0) is a former Bellator champion, who took top honors in the 2016 M-1 Grand Prix, using a choke hold for a second-round submission of Vyacheslav Vasilevsky in de M-1 Challenge 68 Fight of the Night.

In his last M-1 action, “Storm” alleen nodig 25 seconds to stop Brandon Halsey, avenging his Bellator title-fight loss, last June at M-1 Challenge 79.

An aggressive striker who has had registered 56 career pro victories, Shlemenko is known as a crowd pleaser, and the gifted Russian star still shines bright.

Kharitonov (27-6-0, M-1: 5-0-0) faces his fellow countryman, upset-minded Anton Vyazigin(9-2-1, M-1: 4-1-0), in this Heavyweight SuperFight.

De 6′ 4″, 258-pound Kharitonov is undefeated in five M-1 Challenge events having defeated Geronino dos Santos (SUB1 – ankle lock), Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou (KO1 – stempel), voormalige M-1 Challenge zwaargewicht kampioen Kenny “Drommel” Graanzolder tweemaal, at M-1Uitdaging 59 in 2015 at Kazakhstan (WTKO1 – stoten) en M-1 Challenge 53 in 2013 at China, (KO/TKO3 – letsel), en naar Alexei The Money bij M-1 Challenge 43 in 2013 Rusland (KO2).

The 37-year-old Kharitonov, has defeated some of the greatest heavyweight MMA fighters of all-time, inclusief Alister Overeem, Andrei Arlovski, Fabricio Werdum en Pedro Rizzo. Kharitonov has also fought in Strikeforce, K-1, Bellator and PRIDE.

Vyazigin, who stands 6′ 5″ and weights 250-pounds, is coming off a sensational 16-seconds knockout of Zaur Gadzhibabayev this past March at M-1 Challenge 89.

One other main card fight has been announced as striker Giga Kukhalashvili (9-3-0, M-1: 2-0-0) meets undefeated Khadis Ibragimov (3-0-0. M-1: 1-0-0) in a battle of undefeated Russian light heavyweights.

Op de voorlopige kaart, Franse lichtgewicht Mickael “Ragnar” Lebout (17-8-2, 1 NC, M-1: 1-0-0) meets rising Russian prospect Pavel Gordeev (10-1-0, M-1: 4-0-0). Lebout vs. Gordeev was scheduled to happed at M-1 Challenge 87, but Lebout was injured during training camp, forcing the Frenchman out of that fight. Lebout’s M-1 debut at M-1 Challenge 89 resulted in a win by first-round knockout of Sergey Faley. Gordeev is riding a three-fight win streak, all ending in unanimous decisions.

De oorspronkelijk geplande M-1 Challenge 91, April 21 in Sint-Petersburg, aanbevolen M-1 Challenge vedergewicht kampioen Khamzat Dalgiev tegen Amerikaanse uitdager Nate “De trein” Landwehr, is geannuleerd. Dalgiev vs. Landwehr wordt verplaatst tijdens 2018.

Doskalchuk (8-1-0, M-1: 2-0-0), uitvechten van Oekraïne, won afgelopen september zijn titelriem bij M-1 Challenge 83, toen hij een Guillotine Choke gebruikte om zich te onderwerpen Vadim Malygin in de tweede ronde.

Ongeslagen in M-1-competitie, Doskalchuk won afgelopen mei een meerderheidsbesluit tijdens zijn M-1-debuut, over Binh Son Le bij M-1 Challenge 78.

Zayats heeft gevochten in Bellator, Magalhaes in de UFC. SINT PETERSBURG, Rusland (Maart 31, 2018) – M-1 Challenge welterweight champion Alexey Kunchenko improved his professional MMA record to a perfect 18-0-0, stopping Russian challenger Alexander “Iron Capture” Butenko in the third round of last night’s M-1 Challenge 9- main event, bij M-1 Arena in Sint-Petersburg, Rusland.

The 33-year-old Kunchenko (17-0-0, M-1: 10-0-0), also fighting out of Russia, has been the M-1 Challenge welterweight champion for nearly two years, toen hij knock-out Murad Abdulaev in de vierde ronde op M-1 Challenge 65. Kunchenko notched his 13^th knockout against former M-1 Challenge lightweight champion Butenko (45-13-3, M-1: 11-3-1) in the third round on punches in his fourth successful title defense.

In de co-featured evenement, American veteran Joe “Diesel Riggs (47-18-1, M-1: 2-0-1) and Ukrainian middleweight Boris Polejay (18-6-1, M-1: 2-1-1) battled to a three-round split draw.

Braziliaans vlieggewicht Raphael Dias (15-5-0, M-1: 1-1-0) used an arm triangle choke to defeated former M-1 Challenge flyweight title challenger Vadim “slechte Kerstman” Malygin (12-4-1, M-1: 2-3-1), van Rusland, for a second-round victory by submission.

Russische vooruitzicht Magomedkamil Malikov (5-0-0, M-1: 2-0-0) kept his perfect pro record intact, ponsen Sado “The Panther” Ucar (5-5-0, M-1: 0-1-0), of Turkey, in the second round of a match contested at a catchweight.

In the main card opening fight, Russische middengewicht Oleg Olenichev (10-5-0, M-1: 1-2-0) took a unanimous decision over Salmar “Sombra” Nunes (35-13-1, M-1: 0-1-0), van Brazilië.

Most of the preliminary card action took place on that mat with five eight matches ending in submissions. SINT PETERSBURG, Rusland (Maart 19, 2018) – American mixed-martial-arts star Nate “De trein” Landwehr will compete for his first M-1 Global title, when he takes on red-hot M-1 Challenge featherweight champion Khamzat Dalgiev, in de M-1 Challenge 91 main event at the new M-1 Arena in Saint Petersburg, Rusland.

The 29-year-old Landwehr (10-2-0, M-1: 2-0-0), who fights out of Clarksville, Tennessee, made his M-1 Global debut last September at M-1 Challenge 83, toen hij stopte Mikhail Korobkov op stoten in de tweede ronde. Landwehr’s last fight was this past November at M-1 Challenge 85, at which he won a split decision over Viktor Kolesnik.

Since his first fight in Russia, Landwehr has developed into one of M-1 Global’s most popular fighters, largely due to his fan-friendly fighting style, as well as his showmanship. He made his own promo video, talks trash at press conferences, and broke out into an “ass whooping” song after his fight.

“De trein” never takes a step backwards, trading punches with his opponent from the opening bell, which often results in spectacular fights for MMA fans.

Landwehr (boven) is an all-around fighter who can ground or pound

Dalgiev (10-1-0, M-1: 7-1-0), van Rusland, heeft gewonnen 10 fights in a row since he lost his pro debut in 2014. Last November at M-1 Challenge 86, Dalgiev turned in a shocking performance, knocking out longtime M-1 Challenge featherweight champion Ivan Buchinger in the opening round with a thunderous punch that made him an instant star.

Able to defeat his opponent in a variety of ways, Dalgiev has won five fights by submission with three knockouts, including five opening-round stoppages. If rising to the occasion is his forte, Dalgiev should be sky high to fight Landwehr in one of the most anticipated M-1 Global showdowns in years.

Russian Bantamweight Contender Nikolai Potapov Returns with TKO over Saltykov

Former NABO Champion and #2-rated WBO bantamweight contender Nikolai Potapov returned to action last Saturday night with a TKO 3 over his Russian countryman, Alexander Saltykov.

Fighting at the Floyd Mayweather Boxing Academy in Zhukovka, Rusland, Potapov looked sharp while forcing Saltykov to stay on his stool after two rounds of pounding.

The 28-year-old Potapov holds a victory over former world title challenger Antonio Nieves and fought to a draw with Stephen Young, who is fighting for WBA Interim title this weekend.

“I am excited to get the win and look forward to challenging the best bantamweights in the world,” said Potapov, post-fight. “Every experience is a lesson and I keep improving with each fight and training camp. Training in Detroit at the Kronk Boxing Gym with Javan Sugar Hill Steward has taken my game to the next level. I am grateful to my promoters Salita Promotions and PBL. I know this is going to be a big year for me.”

Potapov’s co-promoter, Dmitriy Salita, says his Russian bantamweight is a force at 118 lbs. “Nikolai is one of the best bantamweights in the world. His dedication, discipline in training and constant improvement make him a real threat in his exciting division.”

The 33-year-old Kunchenko captured his M-1 Challenge welterweight title nearly two years ago, bij M-1 Challenge 65, toen hij knock-out Murad Abdulaev in de vierde ronde. Kunchenko has made three successful title defenses. He won two decisions in a rematch with Abdulaev and against Maksim Grabovich, and he stopped Sergey Romonav in de openingsronde.

The Russian-born Kunchenko is a legitimate knockout artist, stoppen 12 zijn 17 pro victims, and he is 9-0 in in M-1 Global competition.

Butenko (45-12-3, M-1: 11-2-1) is an experienced fighter, who is attempting to become a two-division M-1 Challenge champion. The battle-tested Ukrainian won his M-1 Challenge lightweight crown at M-1 Challenge 67, back in June of 2016, toen hij een beslissing van vijf ronden won Artem Damkovsky voor de vacante titel.

American middleweight and former UFC fighter,Joe “Diesel” Riggs (47-17-0, 1 NC, M-1: 2-0-0), uitvechten van Phoenix, DE, neemt Boris Polezhay (18-6-0, M-1: 2-1-0), van Oekraïne, in de co-featured event.

Riggs is riding a six-fight win streak, including a pair of victories in M-1 Challenge events, in which he knocked out Oleg Olenichev en Dmitry Samoilov. Polezhay has won 13 van zijn laatste 14 gevechten.

Also fighting in the main card is Brazilian flyweight Rafael Dias (14-5-0, M-1¨0-1-0), die wordt geconfronteerd met Vadim Malygin, van Rusland. Dias has lost only two of his last 10 gevechten, both of those in bantamweight matches. Malygin lost his only M-1 Challenge title fight last September, wanneer Alexander Doskalchuk submitted him in the second.
