Three-Hour Premier Boxing Champions Show Features Jamal James Delivering Second Round Knockout of Mahonry Montes in Front of Hometown Crowd Friday Night on FS1 & FOX Deportes from The Armory in Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (Awst 24, 2018) – Welterweight contender Jamal James (24-1, 11 Kos)gave his hometown crowd a treat as he sent Mahonry Montes (35-8-1, 24 Kos)to the canvas for a second round knockout in the main event of a jam-packed three-hour night of Hyrwyddwyr Bocsio Premier action Friday fromthe Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

I came out here to make a statement and I’m even happier to be able to do it right here at home,” said James. “The support in Minnesota is amazing and it gave me the extra motivation to get the job done in spectacular fashion. Everyone knows I attack the body and tonight I was able to use it to get the finish

In his second straight fight at the Armory, James made a statement by quickly dispatching Mexico’s Montes with a punishing left hook to the body that left his opponent crumpled on the canvas.

James broke through in the last 30 seconds of the second round, landing numerous unanswered right hands that put Montes in immediate trouble. James finished the show with the devastating body shot that eventually forced referee Mark Nelson to halt the bout at 2:58 o'r cylch.

I feel like I’m ready for the elite welterweights and tonight proved it again,” said James. “I’m going to keep working hard and taking down anyone they put in front of me. It’s time for me to make my mark in the division.

Yn y digwyddiad cyd-main, contender Canol Willie Monroe Jr. (23-3, 6 Kos) showed off his boxing skill and picked apart Javier Francisco Maciel (33-7, 23 Kos) to score a unanimous decision in their 10-round bout.

Monroe was dominant with his jab, movement and an array of offensive attacks. He was able to vary his punches enough to keep the aggressive Maciel from landing anything that caused damage.

Maciel looked to score with power punches and body shots, but the former title challenger Monroe was comfortable on the outside and mixing it up inside on his way to winning the fight by scores of 99-91 ac 100-90 ddwywaith.

The opening bout of the telecast featured fast-rising prospect and 2016 Olympiad o Lithwania Eimantas Stanionis (7-0, 5 Kos) as he earned a unanimous decision over Levan Ghvamichava (18-4-1, 13 Kos)in their eight-round welterweight matchup.

Stanionis rode a powerful jab and sharp combination punching to the dominant victory as he faced the toughest opposition of his pro career to date. Ghvamichava was game and tried to counter the hard-charging Stanionis but was too often taking the worst of exchanges on the inside. At the end of the action all three judges saw the bout in favor of Stanionis by scores of 80-72 ac 79-73 ddwywaith.

Additional action saw Jeison Rosario (16-1-1, 11 Kos) score a unanimous decision over Jamontay Clark (13-1, 7 Kos) in their 10-round super welterweight bout.

Rosario scored a highlight reel knockdown with a counter right hand in the third round that saw Clark tumble out of the ring. Clark was able to return to the ring and beat the count, but he took more damage throughout the bout before losing the decision by scores of 99-90, 98-91 ac 97-92, all in favor of Rosario.

A scheduled heavyweight bout ended in shocking fashion before it ever began, as heavyweight prospect Efe Ajagba (6-0, 5 Kos) was awarded a victory by disqualification against Curtis Harper (13-6, 9 Kos) when Harper exited the ring moments after the opening bell rang, opting not to face Ajagba.

Prelims on FS1 and FOX Deportes saw rising super welterweight prospect Sebastian Fundora (10-0, 6 Kos) stop Antonio Urista (10-3, 2 Kos)yn 2:22 of the fourth round, undefeated super welterweight Leon Lawson (8-0, 4 Kos) ennill penderfyniad unfrydol dros Brandon Adams (4-7-1, 2 Kos) in their six-round fight and unbeaten prospect Gary Antonio Russell (12-0,10 Kos) score a first round knockout of Nick Otieno (31-15, 13 Kos) dim ond 1:18 i mewn i'r rownd.

Gostyngiadau grwpiau ar gael drwy ffonio 844-BKLYN-GP.

Ugas, (22-3, 11 Kos), returns to the SHOWTIME stage for the second time. In February, he handed Ray Robinson his first defeat since a 2010 decision to Shawn Porter. Barrionuevo, (34-3-2, 24 Kos), making his U.S. cyntaf, wedi ennill 10 fights in a row and has only lost once since 2010 as he looks to follow in the footsteps of Marcos Maidana and Lucas Matthysse, elite welterweights from Argentina.

Here is what the 32-year-old Ugas and 29-year-old Barrionuevo had to say from their respective camps about their September 8 matchup:

YORDENIS UGAS

Ar y cyfan, how is your training going in Las Vegas and who have you sparred with?

We have been training at Fernando Vargas’ campfa, the Feroz Fight Factory gym. We’ve been sparring with Jose Benavidez Jr. and Diego Magdaleno, and a few other locals. Nothing is really different with this camp compared to others. Rwy'n 100 percent committed to training for this fight.

What are the advantages of training in Las Vegas?

I’ve been in Las Vegas for the past two and a half years. This place has changed my life. I came out here and started training with Ismael Salas, who has trained many of the best Cuban boxers. There is such good sparring out here, and there’s also mountains. I love running up Mount Charleston. This is just a perfect place for a fighter to train.

How are you preparing to face a southpaw like Cesar Barrionuevo?

We are sparring with lefties and trying to mirror exactly what we think we’ll see. The Argentine fighters always come to fight and are well prepared. They always go to war. Luckily I like to go to war too. So I think we have good styles that will give the fans a great fight.

What else do you know about your opponent?

I’ve seen some footage and that’s it. It’s not really about what he does or brings, it’s all about staying focused on what I do best. I don’t take much time off so I’m always in the gym training. I did go down to Miami a few weeks ago and actually trained in Barrionuevo’s gym and met some guys he works with, but we never crossed paths.

You are returning to fight on SHOWTIME for a second time. Does that give you an advantage?

Everyone who knows boxing knows I’m the more experienced fighter. This is one of his first times he’s fighting outside Argentina. I know he’s a big deal there, but he’s never seen a stage like this, with all the bright lights. I’m going to be prepared for the best Argentine fighter that shows up that night.

What is your prediction of the Garcia-Porter fight?

I think they are two great fighters and whoever is the most prepared on that night will win the fight. Because this is a WBC eliminator, I know there’s a chance I could fight one of them if I win my fight. I would love to fight either of them.

CESAR BARRIONUEVO

How is your training camp going in Miami and who have you sparred with?

Technically, everything is strong and with my coaches Carlos [Morgan] and Pablo [Martinez] we feel good about where we are and what we’re doing. I want to be 100 percent ready on September 8 for the fight of my life. I feel like I will be and am so grateful for the support of my team and everyone here at Caicedo Sports’ campfa. I have been sparring with a bunch of local prospects, young guys with undefeated records and guys that are in the same boat as I am looking to become a world champion.

How are you preparing for an aggressive fighter like Ugas?

I’m formulating my plan and intensifying my training so I’m 100 y cant yn barod. I’m focusing on my cardio and increasing my strength. That’s why I’m here in the U.S., because the level of competition is better than back home. I feel that everything I’m doing is a step up. I’m having the best training camp of my life. I’m not worrying about my opponentsstyle.

What do you know about your opponent?

We have watched some film, but that doesn’t always help you. Split-second adjustments will be made if needed. I’m a fighter at the end of the day, and will be ready for whatever he puts in front of me. I have never met him, but I know he came and worked out at my gym. I don’t know him, but maybe after the fight we can be friends. Right now it’s kill or be killed.

What are your thoughts about fighting on the big stage at Barclays Center?

I know I have a huge fan base in Argentina and can’t wait to go back there and celebrate a win with them. I’m so proud of all the past world champions that have come from my country, but I’m not coming to Brooklyn as a tourist. I’m coming to fight and get the victory in spectacular fashion and to put Argentina back on the map in the sport of boxing. The objective is to look good and win and to leave a good impression fighting on SHOWTIME and for everyone watching.

What is your prediction of the Garcia-Porter fight?

It’s a tough fight. Maybe 50-50, but I’m leaning toward Danny Garcia. I think his experience as a world champion will show.

Is it hard not to look ahead to a possible future fight with one of those guys?

I haven’t thought about it for even one second. I’m focused on my next task, and that’s Ugas. I’m coming to do what needs to be done to get the win. And I’ll get that win with blood, sweat and tears. I’ll focus on Danny Garcia or Shawn Porter when the time comes.

Gostyngiadau grwpiau ar gael drwy ffonio 844-BKLYN-GP.

Porter was joined by his father and trainer, Ken Porter, as the two discussed the highly-anticipated welterweight showdown presented by Premier Boxing Champions. Here is what the Porters had to say Wednesday:

Shawn PORTER

I love being in training camp and grinding every day. We’re just 100 percent focused on what we have to do. I’m seasoned enough where I know how to excel through these stages of camp. Rwy'n teimlo'n wych.

We always work on the jab to start our training session. Everyone knows that everything I do comes off of my jab. It’s all about the fundamentals. My dad is smart and knows my athletic potential is there. He’s focused on all the technical and strategic parts of the game.

Whether we look to box or not will be a game-time decision. We’ll have to read the fight. I think we’re going to start trying to mix it up and then take it from there. It’s up to me to see the adjustments and make them. Whatever it takes to win this fight, I am prepared to do it.

Danny’s counter-punching I think plays into my hands. I’m a combination puncher. There’s more than one coming. If there is only one coming, you don’t know where it’s coming from. I think it’s going to take care of Danny’s strength, but I don’t take it lightly. I know that he’s a strong fighter and that’s what I expect in the ring.

I don’t believe that he’s going to stand toe-to-toe with me, but I do believe that’s where he thinks he can win the fight. The point is to hit and not get hit, so we’ll try to keep it as clean as possible. It gets rough in there sometimes, but if you can’t handle the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Once upon a time I probably would have that thought that I could just beat Danny with activity. But I know that I have to be sharp, precise and land most of my punches. I want to throw 60 a round and land 40 y cant.

I’m going go out there and be aggressive, be sharp, be quick and let the rest take care of itself. This is a humungous fight that I’ve been looking forward to for a long time.

KEN PORTER, Shawn’s Father & Hyfforddwr

Any fight that Shawn is in, you’re going to have action. If Shawn went in there and laid back, I doubt that Danny would go after him. I just don’t think Danny is going to go forward like that.

We have to continue to do what we’ve done to get this far. But we’re not going to go after him the way he expects us to.

Danny is trying to pump himself up like he’s some kind of one-punch knockout artist. But I’m a one-punch artist if it’s against someone who can’t box anymore or who’s coming way up in weight. If you hit Shawn Porter with one of those punches, he’s going to hit right back, and with Shawn, it’s going to be more than one.

My focus is on making sure that Shawn is prepared to do the things I need him to do. I have to get him where I need before I focus too much on what Danny is going to bring. We’re making sure Shawn is 100 percent first.

BETH: Chwaraeon Showtime® Emmy-award winning reporter Jim Gray sat down with the fathers of Danny Garcia ac Shawn Porter as the two former world champions prepare to meet September 8 for the vacant WBC Welterweight World Championship on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING.

Angel Garcia ac Kenny Porter, who both also serve as their sons’ trainers, are asked by Gray how they react when they watch their sons take punishment in the ring.

“As a dad, I have to separate the boxing,” Angel Garcia said. “So when Danny’s in there I’ve got to look at him as a coach. I can’t look at it as a dad.”

Said Kenny Porter: “As a former boxer, I felt what it’s like to be in that ring… So I feel differently when he’s in the ring. I have a more competitive spirit towards winning than maybe someone who’s kid is in there and they’re looking at whether the kid is getting injured. I’m looking at it like, let’s win.”

Gray gets Porter and Garcia to open up about challenges, regrets and the aspirations they’ve carried for their progeny both in the ring and outside of it. “I do [have regrets],” Angel Garcia said. “I said my faults. I’m not perfect.”

Angel called himself the “most underrated trainer” in boxing today, and Danny the “most underrated fighter.”

At the end of the interview, Kenny unveils a Garcia “DSG” T-shirt that reads: “Showtime Destroys Garcia” and both fathers shared a big laugh.

Originally from the nation of Georgia but now fighting out of California, Ghvamichava (18-3-1, 13 Kos) has had his last four fights appear on FS1 and FOX Deportes broadcasts as he’s challenged former champion Sergey Lipinets and top contender Yordenis Ugas, while picking up victories over Oscar Molina and Breidis Prescott. The 33-year-old was unbeaten in seven straight fights after his first defeat in 2013.

Coached by renowned trainer Ronnie Shields in Houston, Ajagba (5-0, 5 Kos) has been impressive since turning pro after representing his native Nigeria in the 2016 Gemau Olympaidd. The 24-year-old has five knockout victories in five pro fights so far, with only one opponent reaching the second round.

Truax (29-4-2, 18 Kos) became just the third Minnesota-born fighter to win a world title when he went on the road to the UK last December and defeated James DeGale in one of the biggest upsets of 2017. The Osseo-product lost a close decision in the rematch to DeGale in April and will return to action to take on the 30-year-old Pena (15-10-1, 11 Kos), who has faced numerous top contenders including Jose Uzcategui, Joe Smith Jr. and Tureano Johnson to name a few.

Trawodd Alecsander yn gyntaf gan fod ei safiad paw de yn ymddangos fel pe bai'n achosi trafferth i Berto yn gynnar. Cysylltodd Alexander â chyfres o fachau dde pwerus yn rownd dau cyn dilyn i fyny yn rownd tri gyda hawl syth a laniodd ar Berto a chaniatáu i Alexander sgorio ergyd gyda bachau dilynol.

“Roedden ni'n gwybod bod gennym ni ddigon o bŵer i'w frifo ac roeddwn i'n teimlo fy mod i'n gwneud hynny yn gynnar yn y frwydr,” meddai Alexander. “Arafais yng nghanol yr ymladd, ond nid oes unrhyw esgusodion. Daeth y ddau ohonom i ymladd.”

Gwelodd y bout nifer o wrthdaro a chlymau, ond wrth i’r rowndiau fynd rhagddynt roedd di-ildio Berto yn caniatáu iddo sgorio yn erbyn Alecsander blinedig. Cafodd Berto lwyddiant yn y seithfed rownd yn tagio Alexander ar y tu mewn wrth iddo ddechrau torri trwy amddiffyn ei wrthwynebydd.

“Rydw i wedi bod i ffwrdd ers tro ond roeddwn i'n teimlo'n dda yno,” Said Berto. “Roedd yn tynnu'n ôl ar lawer o'i punches felly camais i mewn ar gyfer fy nghyfuniadau a gwneud iddo dalu.”

Daeth yr ornest yn ôl ac ymlaen i ben gyda'r ddau ymladdwr yn gwthio'i ben tan y gloch olaf ac yn ymddangos fel pe baent wedi treulio'i gilydd i lawr o'r 12 rownd.. Roedd y sgorau'n adlewyrchu natur agos y gornest fel yr oedd y barnwr wedi ei sgorio 114-113 am Alexander, ond cafodd ei orchfygu gan ddau farnwr yn sgorio'r ornest 115-112 dros Berto.

“Roeddwn i'n meddwl fy mod yn ymylu arno, ond brwydr agos oedd hi,” meddai Alexander. “Rydyn ni'n dringo'n ôl yn llonydd. Mae hyn yn digwydd. Rydw i'n mynd i siarad â fy nhîm a gweld beth yw'r cam gorau i'r dyfodol.”

“Mae hwn yn deimlad aruthrol,” Said Berto. “Rwy'n edrych ymlaen at fynd i mewn yno a'i wneud eto.”

Gwelodd y cyd-brif ddigwyddiad ar FOX a FOX Deportes cyn bencampwr pwysau canol y byd Peter “Siocled Kid” Quillin (34-1-1, 23 Kos) ennill penderfyniad unfrydol fuddugoliaeth dros J'Leon Cariad (24-2-1, 13 Kos) ar ôl 10 rownd o weithredu ganol super.

“Roedd yn bwysig iawn i mi fynd i fyny yno a thorri ei ysbryd,” Said Quillin. “Sefydlais fy ewyllys yno, ond arhosaf i farnu sut edrychais nes i mi weld y tâp.”

Profodd allbwn pŵer a dyrnu Quillin i fod yn wahaniaeth wrth iddo ganolbwyntio ar fynd i mewn i ystod Cariad wrth gyflwyno punches pŵer i gefnogi Cariad.. Gyda'i hyrwyddwr, gwych erioed Floyd Mayweather, eistedd wrth ymyl, Canolbwyntiodd cariad ar strategaeth a welodd yn symud trwy gydol y 10 rownd wrth geisio adeiladu ei drosedd oddi ar ei bigiad.

“Weithiau nid ydych chi'n cael eich noson orau, ond dwi ymhell o fod wedi gwneud,” meddai Cariad. “Mae gen i lawer o frwydrau da ar ôl o'm blaen. byddaf yn ôl. Gallwn i fod wedi pwyso ychydig yn fwy, ond dyrnwr yw e. Nid oeddwn yn ceisio ei droi yn ffrwgwd. Es i ato ac yna llithro i'r dde allan. Dyna oedd cynllun y gêm.”

Dechreuodd rownd wyth gyda Quillin ar y sarhaus wrth iddo binio Love yn y gornel a dadlwytho cyfres enfawr o ergydion, llawer ohonynt wedi glanio'n wan. Roedd cariad yn gallu osgoi unrhyw berygl difrifol o'r ymosodiad, ond ni lwyddodd erioed i lanio dim a oedd yn poeni Quillin dros yr eiliadau oedd yn weddill o'r ymladd.

Sgoriodd y beirniaid y bout 99-91 ac 98-92 ddwywaith, i gyd o blaid Quillin.

“I bobl sy'n meddwl bod gen i rwd modrwy, rydym wedi bod yn y gampfa yn hyfforddi'n galed i fod yn barod am her fel hon,” Said Quillin. “Rydyn ni'n mynd i adeiladu o hyn a'i ddefnyddio o sylfaen. Dim ond amser a ddengys beth ddaw nesaf, ond byddwn yn defnyddio hwn fel ffon fesur.”

Roedd y gornest agoriadol ar FOX a FOX Deportes yn cynnwys cyn-bencampwr y byd Lipinets Sergey (14-1, 10 Kos) wrth iddo ennill penderfyniad mwyafrif drosodd Erick Esgyrn (20-6, 8 Kos) ar ôl 10 rowndiau o weithredu pwysau welter.

“Rwyf bob amser yn cymryd cwpl o rowndiau i ffigur y dyn allan, ond unwaith i mi lacio roeddwn i'n teimlo'n eithaf da,” meddai Lipinets. “Yr wyf yn llwytho i fyny ar fy punches ychydig yn fwy nag oedd yn rhaid i mi, ond roedd y frwydr hon yn union yr hyn yr oeddwn ei angen i baratoi fy hun ar gyfer her fawr arall yn fuan.”

Treuliodd y ddau ymladdwr y rhan fwyaf o'r ornest yn cyfnewid punches pŵer sengl, gyda Lipinets yn dangos ei allu rhagorol i chwalu trwyn Esgyrn yn y rowndiau cynnar ac achosi i waed arllwys ohono trwy weddill yr ymladd.

Parhaodd Lipinets i daflu punches pŵer i'r diwedd, cysylltu â bachyn chwith hanner ffordd drwy'r ffrâm olaf a achosodd Bone i neidio yn ôl tuag at y rhaffau. Sgoriodd un barnwr y frwydr a 95-95 gêm gyfartal ond cafodd ei drechu gan ugeiniau o 99-91 ac 98-92.

“Os gwelodd unrhyw un unrhyw ddiffygion yn fy mherfformiad heddiw, yna mae croeso iddynt gamu i fyny a dod i ymladd yn fy erbyn,” meddai Lipinets. “Mae pawb yn gwybod fy mod i'n mynd i ddod i ddod â brwydr wych i bwy bynnag sydd o fy mlaen”

Roedd camau gweithredu ychwanegol FOX a FOX Deportes yn cynnwys rhagolygon diguro cynyddol Joey Spencer (4-0, 4 Kos) wrth iddo gyflwyno ergyd ail rownd drechaf drosodd Bruce Lutchmedial (2-5, 2 Kos) yn eu gwrthdaro pwysau canol.

Fe laniodd y cyn chwaraewr amatur 18 oed gyfres o ergydion corff hanner ffordd trwy rownd dau a orfododd ei wrthwynebydd i dynnu pen-glin.. Dilynodd Spencer gyda chyfuniad i'r pen a roddodd Lutchmedial i lawr a gorfodi'r dyfarnwr Arthur Mercante i roi'r gorau i'r ornest yn 2:59 yr ail rownd.

“Roedd ychydig yn galetach na'r dynion eraill rydw i wedi ymladd hyd yn hyn,” meddai Spencer. “Roedd yn rhaid i mi fynd i lawr at y corff ar ôl i mi sylweddoli yn y rownd gyntaf nad oedd y ergydion pen mor effeithiol. Yn y diwedd roedd yr ergydion corff yn ormod iddo.

“Rwyf am barhau i adeiladu fy nghofnod, daliwch ati i ymladd gwell gwrthwynebwyr a daliwch ati i dyfu fel ymladdwr. Ar ddiwedd y dydd rwyf am frwydro am deitl yn y blynyddoedd nesaf.”

Gwelodd y prif ddigwyddiad ar FS2 a FOX Deportes Marcus Browne (22-0, 16 Kos) gweithio trwy ergyd ganol rownd ar ei ffordd i fuddugoliaeth penderfyniad unfrydol drosodd Lenin Castillo (17-2-1, 12 Kos) yn eu 10-rownd bout pwysau trwm golau.

“Doeddwn i ddim yn ddigon cyson nac mor effeithiol ag yr oeddwn i eisiau bod heno,” Said Browne. “Ymladdais yn ormodol. Mae angen i mi fod yn fwy cyson i gael y perfformiad rwyf ei eisiau.

“Roedd y knockdown yn teimlo fel slip i mi, ond mae hyn yn bocsio. Roedd yn rhaid i mi gadw ffocws a symud ymlaen i gael y fuddugoliaeth.”

Dangosodd Browne sy'n frodor o Ynys Staten ei gyflymder trawiadol a'i bigiad trwy rowndiau cynnar yr ymladd, cadw trosedd Castillo dan sylw. Wrth i'r ymladd agor yn y rowndiau canol, Daliodd Castillo Browne â llaw dde yn ystod cyfnewid gwyllt a'i ergydiodd oddi ar ei gydbwysedd a pheri iddo daro'r mat..

Llwyddodd Browne i wella'n rhwydd a pharhaodd i ddangos ei sgiliau bocsio trwy weddill y noson, gan nad oedd Castillo yn gallu ailadrodd ei lwyddiant rownd pump. Gwelodd y beirniaid y frwydr i Browne gan yr ugeiniau o 97-92 ac 98-91 ddwywaith.

“Gwerthfawrogais bawb ddaeth allan i mi heno,” Said Browne. “Rwy'n barod i symud ymlaen i'r her nesaf. Rydw i'n mynd i gadw ffocws a bod hyd yn oed yn well y tro nesaf.”

Hefyd ar FS2 a FOX Deportes, cyn-bencampwr byd Luis COLLAZO (38-7, 20 Kos) wedi ennill buddugoliaeth dros benderfyniad y mwyafrif Bryant Perrella (15-2, 13 Kos) yn eu gornest pwysau welter 10-rownd.

Aeth Perrella i mewn i'r cylch gyda'r fantais cyrhaeddiad ac uchder, ond fe strategaethodd y cyn-filwr Collazo yn gyflym i gerdded trwy bigiad Perrella i gyflawni punches pŵer. Dechreuodd Collazo achosi difrod gan ddechrau yn rowndiau tri a phedwar pan oedd Perella wedi syfrdanu sawl gwaith yn erbyn y rhaffau.

“Nid oedd gan Perrella lawer o bŵer, a oedd yn caniatáu i mi aros ar ei ben a mygu ei ddyrnod,” Said COLLAZO. “Roeddwn i'n gallu chwarae'r ymosodwr a rheoli'r ymladd.”

Bu'n rhaid i Collazo barhau i stelcian y Perrella sy'n mynd yn fwyfwy iasgar, ond llwyddodd i ddangos ei fodrwy drawiadol trwy dorri'r fodrwy i weithredu ei drosedd. Roedd Collazo wedi brifo Perrella yn wael yn rowndiau hwyr yr ornest, ond llwyddodd Perrella i ddangos digon o galedwch ac athletaidd i weld y gloch olaf.

“Rydw i wedi cael llawer o frwydrau sydd wedi fy mharatoi ar gyfer yr hyn roedd yn rhaid i mi ei wneud heno,” Said COLLAZO. “Roeddwn i'n teimlo'n gryf yno, ond byddaf yn gwybod mwy unwaith y byddaf yn edrych ar y tâp. Dwi eisiau un o'r pwysau welter gorau nesaf.”

LAS VEGAS (Awst 4, 2018) – contender ysgafn Ladarius Miller (17-1, 5 Kos) won a competitive unanimous decision over Dennis GALARZA (16-4, 9 Kos) in the main event of Premier Boxing Champions on Bounce Friday night from Sam’s Town in Las Vegas.

The 25-year-olds spent the first few rounds feeling each other out before the action heated up as Miller began to find some space inside with his speed. Miller’s southpaw attack saw him look to jab inside before darting to the right to deliver left hands.

I fought a tough opponent but I felt like I went in there and did what I was supposed to do,” said Miller. “I thought I controlled the fight the way I wanted to, but it wasn’t my best performance. I know that I can come back even better.

Galarza’s height was definitely difficult to deal with and I had to really work to get on the inside. He tried to use his range and I had to make adjustments. I tried to keep him off balance and fight my fight.

Galarza’s work rate began to increase with Miller’s upped aggressiveness as he found success with his jab and countering some of the movement Miller flashed. In a fight that appeared close throughout, Miller’s speed and effective straight left hands, combined with counter right hooks, gave him the decision in the eyes of the judges by scores of 96-94, 97-93 ac 99-91.

I’m ready to keep testing myself and move forward,” said Miller. “I’m ready for any opportunity that comes my way against the best of the division.

Additional televised action saw former title challenger Sharif Bogere (32-1, 20 Kos) win a hard fought unanimous decision over Chile’s Oscar Bravo (23-8, 11 Kos) in their 10-round super lightweight showdown.

Bogere showed off an impressive arsenal, stinging Bravo early with a check left hook and combination punching that left his opponent bleeding from his left eye from the early rounds. Bravo pushed forward and tried to trap Bogere against the ropes while throwing power punches, despite the impairment.

Even with the 10-round onslaught from Bravo, Bogere was able to consistently counter and hurt Bravo, never allowing the Chilean fighter to put him in any real danger. The judges all saw the fight for Bogere with scores of 99-91 ac 100-90 ddwywaith.

Yn yr ornest agoriadol y telecast, ddiguro Juan Heraldez (14-0, 8 Kos) rode a first round knockdown and impressive combination punching on his way to a unanimous decision victory over Kevin Watts (11-3, 4 Kos) in their 10-round super lightweight matchup.

Heraldez delivered a thundering counter left uppercut that sent Watts to the canvas in the opening frame of the fight. Watts was able to survive the round but it set the tone for what was to come, as Heraldez was consistently landed the cleaner and more powerful punches.

Watts attempted to get back in the fight leading with a power left hook but Heraldez was able to keep him at bay and deliver his own offense to earn the victory by scores of 100-89 ac 98-91 ddwywaith.
