MIXED MARTIAL ARTS BOUT SET VOOR Bellator 194 ON Februari 16

 

LOS ANGELES - Een vlieggewichtfunctie die vecht tegen bekende bokskampioenen Heather Hardy (1-1) tegen Ana Julaton (2-3) is toegevoegd aan de hoofdkaart van Bellator 194: Nelson vs. Mitrione op Vrijdag, Februari 16 in Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. Het evenement wordt live en gratis uitgezonden op Paramount Network op 9 p.m. EN.

 

 

 

De wedstrijd zal het eerste deel zijn van een scenario met twee evenementen waarin van de vechters wordt verwacht dat ze op een later tijdstip ook deelnemen aan een bokswedstrijd.. Terwijl de MMA-wedstrijd wordt gehouden onder de vlag van Bellator, DiBella Entertainment en Orion Sports Management zullen de promotionele taken voor het boksevenement afhandelen.

Haar derde verschijning maken in de Bellator MMA-kooi, Hardy hoopt het spelplan te dupliceren dat haar een indrukwekkende overwinning op Alice Yauger opleverde tijdens haar professionele debuut in Madison Square Garden.. Afkomstig uit Brooklyn, N.Y., Hardy bouwde een imposant bokscv op voordat hij de krachten bundelde met Bellator, waar ze een paar titels verzamelde in meerdere gewichtsklassen, inclusief de WBC International Female Super Bantamweight belt en WBC International Female Featherweight belt. "The Heat" beschermde een smetteloos teken van 20-0 door een periode van vijf jaar in de boksring.

 

 

 

Zelf een ervaren professionele bokser, Julaton voegt ook een unieke stijl toe aan de Bellator-kooi terwijl ze zich voorbereidt op haar zesde MMA-gevecht in haar carrière. De voormalige WBO en IBA wereldkampioen super bantamgewicht maakte in mei de overstap naar mixed martial arts 2014, het verzamelen van een overtuigende knock-out over Aya-Saeid Sabre. LOS ANGELES - De derde openingsronde matchup in 2018 de Bellator Heavyweight World Grand Prix zal de grootste zwaargewicht van alle tijden zijn voorzien Fedor Emelianenko (36-5, 1 NC) nemen op de voormalige wereldkampioen Frank Mir (18-11) in Bellator's terugkeer naar Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Ziek. op Zaterdag, April 28.

 

 

Een exclusieve online voorverkoop voor dit evenement plaatsvindt woensdag januari 24 en donderdag januari 25, met tickets gaan in de verkoop aan het grote publiek op vrijdag januari 26 bij 10 a.m. CT. SPORTS TV VETERAN JAY GLAZER JOINS BELLATOR BROADCAST TEAM

DEBUT SET FOR Bellator 192 DEZE Zaterdag, JAN. 20 - LIVE OP PARAMOUNT NETWORK

 

 

LOS ANGELES – Bellator announced today that sports television mainstay Jay Glazer will join the Bellator broadcast team. Beginning with Bellator 192, Glazer will host the broadcast desk as Bellator kicks off 2018 op Paramount Network (voorheen Spike) Zaterdag, Jan. 20 bij 9 p.m. EN.

 

 

 

Glazer joins reporter Jenn Brown, play-by-play men Mike Goldberg en Mauro Ranallo, as well as color commentators “Big” John McCarthy enChael Sonnen. In addition to his broadcasting duties, Glazer will also appear in upcoming original content produced by Bellator’s digital team.

 

 

 

“I’m excited to welcome Jay Glazer to the Bellator family,'Zei Bellator-president Scott Coker. “Jay’s knowledge and experience in sports television speaks for itself and he will be a great addition to our incredible broadcast team. As Bellator moves to Paramount Network, I look forward to having him involved with some of the biggest fights of the year.”

 

 

 

“I have always had a tremendous passion for MMA, where the relationships you develop are unlike any other sport, said Glazer. “And I am very fortunate to be able to continue these relationships with an incredible organization like Bellator. I’ve been friends with Scott for many years, and am ecstatic that he brought me into the Bellator family.”

 

 

 

A trailblazer in the sports media world who broke onto the scene as an NFL reporter for the New York Post, Glazer went on to serve as the NFL Insider for CBS Sports in 1999, and later joined Fox Sports where Jay is currently in his 14th year as the NFL Insider on their award-winning NFL studio show, Fox NFL Zondag. In 2007, Jay was named Sports Illustrated’s “Media Person of the Year.” Glazer also became one of the first mainstream media members to cover MMA when he hosted Pride Fighting Championships on FSN.

 

 

 

Jay is also set to begin shooting his fourth season on the HBO comedy hit Ballers, where he has a recurring role.

 

 

 

A longtime athlete and martial artist, Glazer owns the high profile Unbreakable Performance Center in West Hollywood, where the gym has become the home to many elite athletes, actors, musicians and business people, including Demi Lovato, Wiz Khalifa, Chris Pratt, Chuck Liddell and Randy Couture.

 

 

 

Jay also started the first MMA-training program for professional athletes with hundreds of athletes having utilized his training program. In just the last few years, Jay and his team have trained All Pros Von Miller, Aaron Rodgers, Odell Beckham, Bobby Wagner and Andrew Whitworth.

 

 

 

Daarnaast, Glazer began a new foundation in 2015 called Merging Vets & Players, which works to match up former combat veterans and former professional athletes in order to help each other through the transition into their new lives away from the playing field and away from the battlefield. DE ENGELEN - Bellator is pleased to announce that it has come to an agreement with John McCarthy to serve as color commentator during broadcasts on the soon-to-launch Paramount Network, which kicks off with Bellator 192 op Zaterdag, Januari 20.

 

“With the addition of ‘Big’ John to our broadcast team, we have put together the premier group of MMA commentators ahead of our Jan. 20 debut on the Paramount Network,'Zei Bellator-president Scott Coker. “With John and Chael providing analysis, you’re getting two people who have spent more time in the cage than they have spent with a headset on, and that will translate to a positive viewing experience for Bellator fans.”

 

Over the past 20 jaar, “Big” John McCarthy has set the bar when it comes to officiating in MMA, a sport where he has overseen countless fights promoted by Bellator and other promotions all over the world, serving as the referee for some of the biggest bouts in the history of the sport. A former Los Angeles Police Officer, and a Self-Defense Instructor at the Los Angeles Police Academy, McCarthy is also the founder of “C.O.M.M.A.N.D.,” a program that trains and certifies hopeful MMA referees and judges. McCarthy’s regulatory work is equally as impressive, as he was a key figure in the writing of the sport’s Unified Rules, which are recognized by the ABC and athletic commissions all across North America.

 

Along with his broadcasting duties, the man behind the catchphrase “Let’s get it on!” will also provide a unique level of first-hand insight to the plethora of original content produced by Bellator’s digital team.

 

“I first want to say how grateful I am for the opportunity I have been given to work with the incredible team Bellator has assembled. It is always so hard to leave something you love, but I have always wanted to step away based on my terms rather than someone else’s. My goals are to work as hard as I can to meet the expectations everyone will have for me and to hopefully someday exceed them.” McCarthy said. “I cannot think of anyone I would rather be working with than Scott Coker. Scott has always been a person I admire because of his honesty, loyalty and love for the martial arts. Bovendien, Chael Sonnen has signed an extension to remain a part of select Bellator broadcasts, breaking down all the action alongside Bellator announcers Mike Goldberg en Mauro Ranallo.

 

Chael Sonnen spent a majority of his 44-fight career with the UFC and WEC, a run that saw him defeat former middleweight champion Michael Bisping, and compete against the likes of Jon Jones, Anderson Silva (tweemaal), Rashad Evans, "Shogun" Rua, Demian Maia and Brian Stann. In addition to his in-ring action, the West Linn, Ore. native has mastered the art of being in front of the camera, having done broadcast work for both ESPN and Fox Sports. Following a three-year hiatus from active MMA competition, Sonnen returned to the cage against Tito Ortiz bij Bellator 170 in January and then went on to defeat Wanderlei Silva during the main event of Bellator: NYC.

 

Bellator and the soon-to-launch Paramount Network open 2018 with a bang when Bellator 192: Lima vs. MacDonald emanates from The Forum in California on Jan. 20. Caldwell has been on a steady ascension to championship status since signing with Bellator in 2014.
