Lewiston, Maine (Janeiro 4, 2018) - Fights Nova Inglaterra (NEF) retorna para Lewiston emSábado, Fevereiro 3, 2018 com o próximo evento misto de artes marciais da promoção luta, “NEF 32: Super Sábado.” Hoje cedo, NEF announced the addition of a professional featherweight bout to the card. Aaron “Implacável” Lacey (4-1) assinou a cara Josh Parker (6-9) com um peso de luta de 145 quilos.

After making his professional debut in the spring of 2016, Aaron Lacey rose quickly through the ranks of the NEF featherweight division. With wins over veterans like Derek Shorey (4-9) and Taylor Trahan (8-9), the year belonged to Lacey. 2017, contudo, was filled with frustration. Lacey lost two scheduled opponents to injuries and had to pull out of one fight with an injury of his own. Late in the year, he took a fight in New Hampshire against Vovka Clay (8-2). Many felt Lacey was winning a close fight, but a deep cut on his head forced the doctor to stop the fight in the second round and the bout was awarded to Clay. It was the first loss of Lacey’s professional career. The product of Young’s MMA is looking to rebound from that loss and get back on track towards the major leagues of the sport beginning with “NEF 32.”

“I’m excited to be returning to the NEF cage,” exclamou Lacey. “Last year was not my year, but it’s over and I’m looking to start 2018 off with a bang! This fight is going to be fun and I love that I get to come home and perform in front of the NEF fans! The best ones around! I’m coming in prepared and looking for the finish!"

Josh Parker has been a mainstay of both the NEF MMA cage and boxing ring since his debut with the promotion back at “NEF I” em fevereiro 2012. Since turning his focus back to MMA from boxing in late 2016, Parker has had two solid victories in Lewiston. Em “NEF 26” em Novembro 2016, Parker submitted Derek Shorey. Lewiston, Maine (Janeiro 3, 2018) - Fights Nova Inglaterra (NEF) retorna para Lewiston emSábado, Fevereiro 3, 2018 com o próximo evento misto de artes marciais da promoção luta, “NEF 32: Super Sábado.” Hoje cedo, NEF announced the addition of an amateur lightweight bout to the card. Stacy Lupo (0-1) vai assumir David Hart (0-2) com um peso de combate de 155 libras-.

Stacy Lupo made his NEF cage debut in the summer of 2016, facing fellow forty-something athlete Dr. Steve bang (1-1). Lupo and Bang went deep into the third round in a grueling, back-and-forth battle before Bang was able to finish the fight by TKO. Prior to stepping in the cage that night, Lupo, a former wrestler at Nokomis Regional High School in Newport, Maine, already had more than three decades worth of martial arts experience. He holds black belts in both Taekwondo and Shotokan karate. Lupo competed in amateur boxing and kickboxing in the 1980s and 1990s. Atualmente, he is a member of The Outlet based in Dexter, Maine and also operates Lupo’s Mid Maine Karate.

“I’m very unhappy with my first showing in the MMA ring,” said Lupo. “I feel I let down my fans and my students. I’m hoping to redeem myself in this next match. I heard Mr. Hart wants a stand-up fight, and that’s what I’m hoping for too. I’d like to showcase my skills, so I look forward to 3 de fevereiro.”

“I look forward to fighting in Lewiston,” said Hart. “Lupo looks like a tough opponent and has good striking. I am up to the challenge and want to get my first win and the first win for Kenney’s MMA. It will be a great fight.”

BOYINGTON RETURNING TO NEF CAGE AFTER TWO-YEAR ABSENCE

Lewiston, Maine (Dezembro 29, 2017) - Fights Nova Inglaterra (NEF) retorna para Lewiston em Sábado, Fevereiro 3, 2018 com o próximo evento misto de artes marciais da promoção luta, “NEF 32: Super Sábado.” Hoje cedo, NEF announced the addition of a professional catchweight bout to the card. Bruce “Pretty Boy” Boyington (14-11) assinou a cara Taylor Trahan (7-8) com um peso de luta de 150 quilos.

The fight will be the first for Boyington in the NEF cage since February 2016 when he successfully defended the NEF Lightweight Title against Jon Lemke (7-8). It was Boyington’s third defense of the belt since winning it in the late summer of 2014. After the Lemke defense, Boyington relinquished the championship in order to sign with the World Series of Fighting (WSOF).

While he has fought on many of the largest stages in the world over the past two years, including Madison Square Garden in New York City and halfway across the globe in Russia, Boyington is looking forward to his homecoming and the opportunity to once again fight before his many Maine fans.

“Cara, I couldn’t possibly be more excited to get inside the NEF cage, where I have molded my career, built my fan base and learned so much about myself over the years,” Disse Boyington. “I am so hungry to entertain people that I can guarantee everyone will want to see what’s going down! Taylor Trahan is a familiar face to NEF fans. He has competed twice for the promotion in the past. Trahan submitted Matt Denning (5-7) in the first round of their meeting at “NEF 25.” He returned to Maine just weeks later at “NEF 26” in a losing effort to Aaron Lacey (4-1). Trahan is coming off a win over Conor Barry (3-2) last month in New Hampshire. He represents Team Link of Hooksett.

“I’m looking forward to returning to NEF,” said Trahan. “They always put on a good show and treat the fighters right. I’m really looking forward to fighting Bruce. He definitely is the most experienced fighter I’ll be going up against so far.”

Lewiston, Maine (Dezembro 28, 2017) - Fights Nova Inglaterra (NEF) retorna a Lewiston no sábado, Fevereiro 3, 2018 com o próximo evento misto de artes marciais da promoção luta, “NEF 32: Super sábado.” Hoje cedo, NEF anunciou a adição de uma luta pelo campeonato profissional ao card. CJ Ewer (3-0) se reunirá Kemran Lachinov (5-2) para o título vago NEF MMA Professional Welterweight.

 

 

A luta colocará Ewer em uma posição única – para manter títulos simultaneamente em duas divisões de peso. É um feito que já foi tentado, mas nunca realizado no NEF. Ewer é o principal detentor do título profissional de peso médio da organização. Ele conquistou o título com uma vitória sobre Mike Hansen (5-8) último verão em “NEF 30” em Bangor, Maine. Ewer levou menos de dois minutos para finalizar Hansen com um estrangulamento em triângulo de braço. A vitória não só rendeu a Ewer o título dos médios, mas também uma indicação para “2017 Apresentação do ano.” Se Ewer sair vitorioso sobre Lachinov em fevereiro 3, ele ficará no topo das categorias de meio-médio e médio. Jayda “Lil Killah” Colherão(1-0) está programado para enfrentar Amanda Gallo (0-1) com um peso de luta de 135 quilos.

Jayda Bailey ganhou as manchetes este ano quando se tornou a mais jovem atleta a competir em uma luta de MMA sancionada no Maine. Apenas oito dias após seu 18º aniversário, a idade mínima legal para um participante MMA no estado, Bailey montar um desempenho dominante em sua estréia contra Danae Dostie (0-1) em “NEF 31.” Demorou pouco mais de 90 segundos para atingir a vitória por TKO. Lewiston, Maine (Dezembro 5, 2017) – No, you have not been transported back to the 9th century. There will be no longboats, no battleaxes, and no shield maidens present on 3 de fevereiro em Lewiston. The fight will be Erickson’s twentieth in the NEF cage, a record number for any one fighter in the promotion, but it will be a year since his last NEF appearance. He lost to Jon Lemke (7-8) in the semi-finals of the NEF Lightweight Title tournament last February at the Colisee. Erickson, an instructor with Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ), and a homegrown talent of Lewiston-Auburn, will be looking for a triumphant return after a recent loss in Canada.

“It will be a year since I’ve fought in Lewiston,” said Erickson. “The NEF cage is like home to me. I’m really looking forward to hearing my friends, família, and CMBJJ team as I enter the cage. Hansen challenged Erickson to add a stipulation to the bout when they announced the fight publicly at “NEF 31” in Portland last month. Hansen would like the loser to receive a tattoo with the design chosen by the winner.

LEAR VACATES AMATEUR TITLE TO TURN PRO AGAINST JONES AT NEF 32

Lewiston, Maine (Dezembro 1, 2017) - Fights Nova Inglaterra (NEF) retorna para Lewiston em Sábado, Fevereiro 3, 2018 com o próximo evento misto de artes marciais da promoção luta, “NEF 32: Super Sábado.” Hoje cedo, NEF announced the addition of a professional bantamweight bout to the card. Fred Lear (0-0) vai assumir Dom “Domnation” Jones (1-1) com um peso de luta de 135 quilos.

The bout will be Lear’s debut in the professional ranks after a successful amateur career that saw him amass a 6-2 registro. He is riding a three-fight win streak into the showdown with Jones. Lear’s last appearance in the NEF cage saw him capture the amateur bantamweight title with a second-round technical knockout over Jones’ teammate Walt Shea (2-1) verão passado. He will now vacate that championship upon turning professional. Lear is a member of Young’s MMA of Bangor, Maine. He has competed regularly in the amateur ranks for more than four years.

“My opponent is big, forte, and dangerous,” said Lear. “Styles are what make big fights, and the fans will be in for another barn burner here. I have dreamt of this opportunity and will work hard to ensure that it is not squandered.”

Dom Jones, a member of First Class MMA of Brunswick, Maine, made his NEF debut last spring as a professional after going 5-1 as an amateur in his native state of Florida. He dominated Tollison Lewis (1-6) that night, pounding out a technical knockout victory late in the first round. Jones returned to the NEF cage weeks later and suffered his first pro loss to Matt Denning (5-7). Not one to give up on his goals, Jones is using that loss as motivation to better himself in training.

“I’m glad to be back in NEF,” said Jones when reached for comment. “I missed the cage and the NEF fans! I’m excited for my upcoming fight against Fred. Last time I was in the cage, the fight didn’t turn out my way. I used that as a motivation to be better. I jumped right back in the gym and went 110%. I’m excited to be back at 135 and challenge myself. Fred is a great match up. He is great fighter with a future in the sport. I’m excited to see our wrestling skills compete. Josh Jones’ rise to the top of the NEF middleweight division in 2017 was nothing short of meteoric. A former basketball star at Erskine Academy in South China, Maine and draftee of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA Developmental League, Jones has honed his craft in the martial arts at First Class MMA of Brunswick. It took him a mere 24-seconds combined to knock out his first two opponents this past year. Jones’ four-second knockout of Anthony Spires (0-3) went viral worldwide and was featured on major websites like Bleacher Report. After back-to-back losses to finish the year, Jones is looking to rebound with a win to open 2018.

“I am very honored and blessed to have the opportunity to compete against Mark,” disse Jones. “Mark has shown to be an awesome competitor. I look forward to the challenge on 3 de fevereiro. MOUNTAIN VALLEY WRESTLING ALUM TO MEET IN NEF MMA CAGE

Ryan Burgess (2-2) vai enfrentar Nate Boucher (2-1) com um peso de luta de 125 quilos.

Ryan Burgess is wrestling royalty at his alma mater, Montanha Valley High School, em Rumford, Maine. Burgess is one of only four Mountain Valley wrestlers to ever win triple state crowns in wrestling. He amassed an amazing 151-23 overall high school record before graduating and turning his focus to mixed martial arts. He is currently a member of Berserkers MMA based in Rumford. Burgess is the former NEF amateur flyweight champion. NEF 32 will see him return to the cage after a year’s absence.

“I’m very excited for this opportunity to get back in the cage,” , disse Burgess. “I’ve taken some time off to make proper adjustments and focus on my career that started not long before my last fight. I’m ready to take my belt back and right now only one guy stands in my way. It’s not every day you can go to an MMA fight and watch two men who saw each other grow up scrap. He will be looking to rebound from a split decision loss to Justin Witham (4-4) earlier this month in an unsuccessful bid for the vacant flyweight title. It was a fight many in attendance felt Boucher had won.

PARA DIVULGAÇÃO IMEDIATA: Portland, Maine (Novembro 3, 2017) - Fights Nova Inglaterra (NEF) made its long-awaited debut in Portland, Maine no sábado night before a sold-out crowd at Aura.

No evento principal da noite, hometown favorite Paul Gorman (11-9) took on James Blair (5-2) in a 130-pound catchweight contest. The crowd was on the edge of its collective seat for a thrilling three-round war that will be a definite “a luta do ano” candidate for 2017. Gorman pulled off the unanimous decision on the judges’ scorecards.

The ever-popular John “First Class” Raio (3-8) returned to the NEF cage after a three-year retirement. Raio faced a game Zenon Herrera (0-6) and came out with the win in the third round when Herrera tapped out to a guillotine choke.

No lado da placa de amador, three new champions were crowned. Terrance Jean-Jacques (3-0) became the new NEF Amateur Heavyweight Champion with a unanimous decision victory over defending champion Nick Gulliver (4-1). Justin Witham (4-4) is the new flyweight titleholder after defeating Nate Boucher (2-1) por decisão dividida. Hilarie Rose (5-3) made history as the first women’s champion in promotion history by capturing the strawweight title against Alex Walker (4-2).

Two milestones were set early in the night as Jayda Bailey (1-0) became the youngest fighter to ever emerge victorious in the NEF cage, while Garry Carr (1-0) took the honor of the oldest fighter to ever win in the NEF cage. Bailey turned 18 just eight days prior to the event. Carr is 56 years young.

In addition to an evening of fights, fans were able to meet special guest Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza (24-5). Souza is currently the number-four ranked middleweight in the UFC.
