LACEY TO TAKE ON BELLATOR VETERAN AT NEF 28

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Lewiston, Maine (Lub peb hlis ntuj 7, 2017) – New hais Fights (NEF) presents its next mixed-martial-arts eventNEF 28: INVINCIBLE” Rau hnub Saturday, Tim 29, 2017 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, Maine. Earlier today, the fight promotion announced the addition of a professional featherweight bout to the card. AaronRelentlessLacey (4-0) has signed to face WalterAll-DaySmith-Cotito (4-5) at a fight weight of 145-pounds.

Aaron Lacey, undefeated as a professional, has won seven in a row going back to his amateur career. He was prepared to compete atNEF 27last month, but Mother Nature had other plans when a snowstorm prevented his opponent from making the trip to Lewiston from Florida. The setback has made Lacey even hungrier to return to action, but the Young’s MMA standout knows that he has his toughest test to date in front of him in the form of Cotito.

This is going to be an amazing fight,” said Lacey. “Walter is a skilled and dangerous opponent, and he is realistically one of the most dangerous people I have fought to date. That’s alright with me thoughthe tougher the opponent, the harder I work. After what went down in February, I’m chomping at the bit to get back in there.

The fight for Cotito will represent a rubber match of sorts with Young’s opponents. In the spring of 2013, Cotito took Ray Wood (8-3) deep into the third round before Wood, then Young’s standout featherweight prospect, was able to finish the fight. Cotito would gain a measure of revenge against the Bangor gym when he submitted Bruce Boyington (14-10) tom “NEF Xlater that year. Between a pair of recent appearances for global fight promotion Bellator, Cotito scored a second-round submission of Elias Leland (3-2) tom “NEF 25last September.

I’m super excited to fight this kid that they’re all talking about,” exclaimed Cotito. “He has a lot of potential, they keep sayinggood, this just makes it more exciting for me! Nobody has seen the real Walter Cotito in the cage yet. Don’t miss this fight because ‘All-Dayis coming for you!”

New England Fights returns to the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, Maine with its next mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF 28: INVINCIBLE,” Rau hnub Saturday, Tim 29, 2017. Tickets are on sale now at the Colisee box office 207-783-2009 x 525 and online at www.TheColisee.com.

JULIA BUDD WINS INAUGURAL WOMEN’S FEATHERWEIGHT TITLE AT BELLATOR 174 — MARLOES COENEN CALLS IT A CAREER

Julia Budd (10-2) defeated Marloes Coenen (23-8) via TKO (punches) tom 2:42 of round four

Quotes: “I have dreamt about this moment forever. When I was 21 and first started kickboxing, I dreamt about being a champion and I didn’t make it, I lost.Budd said. So, this is my dream come true. The moment I signed with Bellator, I saw all the champions up there on the banners and I said to myself that i want to be up there with them some day. Now it feels like everything has come together.

Theres only one message that I want to give out to all the fighters out there and that’s please listen to your body. I’m very proud of all the women in MMA and I’m very grateful for Bellator,” Coenen said. This company picked me up when I was in a dark place and Scott Coker has given me so many opportunities throughout my career. Bellator MMA will always be my home.

Fernando Gonzalez (26-14) defeated Brandon Girtz (14-6) via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-27, 30-26)

Quote: “Everything I thought was going to happen hmo no, happened. Every time he was going to go for a take down, I wanted to make him pay for it.Gonzalez said. I had to keep him busy and make him scramble. My plan was to box with him and then keep him away with the leg kicks. I wanted to make him work and get him tired and it proved to be effective in the third round. My next fight, I want Andrey Koreshkov. He is one of the best and Bellator’s former champion. I think I will win that fight, which will put me right in line with Douglas Lima next.

Justin Wren (13-2) defeated Roman Pizzolato (8-9) via submission (arm triangle) tom 2:35 of round one

Quote: “I’m so grateful for Bellator and Spike to be able to come out here, do what I love and perform. But, for me, it’s about so much more than the competition, it’s all about knocking some dude out, so that we can knock out the water crisis with my team out there in the Congo,” Wren said. They are so incredible. I just train them and put the tools in their hands. They are much better fighters than I ever could be in this cage, so I want to be as good as I can, so that I can give them a voice.

Rafael Lovato Jr. (5-0) defeated Charles Hackman (4-5) via TKO at 0:13 of round one

DUBLIN MAIN EVENTERS SOUND OFF AHEAD OF CAGE WARRIORS 81 TITLE CLASH

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Hnub peb, March 1st, 2017

Ireland’s Karl Moore and America’s Josh Clark will do battle for the vacant Cage Warriors light-heavyweight world title on Saturday night

Cage Warriors 81 will see a new light-heavyweight world champion crowned as Ireland’s Karl Moore takes on American TUF veteran Josh Clark in the main event at the 3Arena.

Moore heads a cast of Irish fighting talent looking to claim victory on home turf this weekend, and says he’s ready to step up and deliver a performance to not only send the Irish fans home happy and capture the light-heavyweight title last held by current UFC middleweight world champion Michael Bisping.

“I’m honoured to be able to fight for such a prestigious belt,” said Irish challenger Moore.

“The last guy who wore this went on to win the UFC belt as well. That’s what I plan to do also.

“I’ve been waiting for this opportunity all my life and no matter who Cage Warriors put in front of me, I’m going to steamroll over them.

“No one is going to take that belt from me in my own country and when I win it I will go on and conquer the world!

Moore’s opponent Clark also told Cage Warriors he was excited for the opportunity to compete on the Emerald Isle this weekend.

“I can’t wait to fight Saturday night,” he enthused.

“I am willing to go through whatever to get my hand raised!

“I am going to find out how tough Karl Moore really is and I am going to leave with that belt!

The light-heavyweight title fight tops a packed fight card as Cage Warriors makes its long-awaited return to Dublin this weekend.

Tickets are available via ticketmaster.ie.

FORMER CAGE WARRIORS COMMENTATOR JOHN GOODEN SHARES HIS IRISH FIGHT NIGHT MEMORIES AHEAD OF CAGE WARRIORS’ RETURN TO DUBLIN

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Hnub, February 28th, 2017

As we look forward to our long-awaited return to Dublin this weekend, the former voice of Cage Warriors remembers the raucous atmosphere of the Irish fight fans and recalls the moment he took a knee from a man who would go on to become the biggest star in the sportConor McGregor.

Before he started calling fights for the UFC, British play-by-play man John Gooden was the voice of Cage Warriors.

And nobody knows the passion of the Irish fight fans quite like John who, during the now-famous rise to prominence of Conor McGregor, ended up right in the thick of it with the legendary Irish fight fans during both of ‘The Notorious’ one’s Cage Warriors championship victories.

We chatted to Gooden at CW80 in London where he shared his memories of his Irish fight night experiences ahead of our return to Dublin this weekend for Cage Warriors 81.

I think my first taste was the Helix when Conor won his first world title,” he began.

I got injuredConor kneed me in the face! But I stayed here to live to tell the tale!

He jumped the fence. His fans were going absolutely bonkers, and I think if he didn’t go out, they were coming in. So strategically he did the right thing, although he sort of ran through me to get to them!

But Josh (Palmer, Cage Warriors co-commentator) and I were covered in beer and it was just this melee of craziness. So that was really cool, because I can say I took a knee from Conor McGregorwhich he apologised for, as well!

The Helix was an interesting venue. It was on different levels and the last time I was there the Irish were having mixed results. Then Conor came out and, as he does, rouses everyone and came away with the victory in the fashion that he did. That just put the capstone on the night and just made it celebratory.”

After that fight both McGregor and Gooden were UFC bound, where they would reunite in Dublin at the 3Arena for UFC tua hmo ntuj: McGregor v Brandao, an event that has gone down in folklore as one of the most raucous in UFC history.

I’ve been over to Dublin twice (with the UFC) but the first time in 2014 – McGregor-Brandaoit’s gonna be difficult to top that,” Gooden smiled.

The fans were SO good. The Irish fighters went 100%. They won, they won, they won and the crowd loved it. They got behind every single one and it was just a big celebration.

Going back there, it was a sensory overload and I’m gonna take that to the grave with me.”

That event has been held up as the standard by which all fight night atmospheres are now judged, but there have been plenty of examples of the Irish fans’ passion since then, whether it’s at home for a host of different events, or on the road supporting their heroes overseas.

And on Saturday night the Irish fight fans have the opportunity to cheer on their boys on home soil once again at Cage Warriors 81. With a host of Irish fighting talent set for action, including Karl Moore bidding to capture the vacant Cage Warriors light-heavyweight title against American Josh Clark, we’re expecting another party atmosphere at the 3Arena.

Tickets are available via Ticketmaster.ie, priced €98, €38 and €24, with ticket holders also able to attend a special meet and greet session with our special guest fighters Neil Seery, Nicolas Dalby and the newly crowned Cage Warriors Welterweight Champion Karl Amoussou.

The bout will be televised live on eirSPORT 1 in Ireland, BT Sport in UK and Ireland, and streamed worldwide on UFC Fight Pass.

THE TIME FOR TALK IS OVER, NOW IT’S TIME TO FIGHT!

Lewiston, Maine (Lub peb hlis ntuj 1, 2017) – New hais Fights (NEF) presents its next mixed-martial-arts eventNEF 28: INVINCIBLE” Rau hnub Saturday, Tim 29, 2017 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, Maine. Earlier today, the fight promotion announced the addition of a professional featherweight bout to the card. MattKen DollDenning (3-6) will meet Josh Parker (5-8) at a fight weight of 145-pounds.

The fight will mark the culmination of months of trash talking on social media between Denning and Parker’s camp. Denning, a member of Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Auburn, Maine and a veteran of the World Series of Fighting (WSOF) cage, will be looking to rebound from a loss to Ricky Dexter (1-0) last month atNEF 27.

After Josh’s win over Derek Shorey, I wanted to fight him,” Denning said. “On paper, both of our last wins were against the same opponent (Shorey). I thought the fight made sense. We both have had a lot of fights against very tough fighters. Since that fight, there has been some Facebook bashing from Parker’s brother, and my response was for Josh to sign the contract. He was insulting me and trash talking, so I wanted to prove them wrong. There is no place in a fight where Parker can beat me and on April 29th, I’ll show that to the NEF fans. I’d like to thank (NEF owners) Nick (DiSalvo) and Matt (Peterson) for giving me another opportunity to fight for them. Tseem, I’d like to thank Kill Their Will and all my family at CMBJJ for their ongoing support.

Parker’s victory over Shorey last November marked his return to the MMA cage after a three-year absence. He spent the vast majority of that time competing in the boxing ring, yet it was a submission that Parker used to overcome Shorey. For Parker, the head of Ruthless MMA & Boxing based in Benton, Maine, the fight with Denning is not business as usual. The nature of the trash talking has turned personal, and Parker vows vengeance for what he sees as disrespect on Denning’s part.

There comes a time in every fighter’s career that the fight has nothing to do with records or money,” said Parker. “It’s to prove a point. My name has come out of this kid’s mouth too many times. Rau April 29th, I’m gonna shut it.
