Rich Bergeron opens this week’s FNU Combat Sports show by giving his unique take on the Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson feud with the UFC brass, namely Dana White. Upon refusing to take a fight with T.J. Dillashaw without getting certain assurances and conditions met, many fans on social media insisted DJ was running scared. Even Dillashaw took the opportunity to blast the move by the flyweight champ as “chickenshit.” Dana White even reportedly threatened to shut down the entire flyweight division if Johnson refused to fight TJ. “Mighty Mouse” didn’t blink and didn’t cave to the organization’s demands, and Rich explains in his opening dialogue why DJ should be respected and given the benefit of the doubt for his decision rather than being criticized and dragged through the mud for standing up for himself.

 

During the rest of the broadcast, Tony “O Tornado” Penecale details his night out at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia for a fight card headlined by Hank Lundy. He also recaps Fonfara vs. Stevenson II and calls the fight “a disgrace.”

 

“Psíquico” Tom Padgett chips in with some post-fight analysis of Aldo vs. Holloway. He also predicts Mark Hunt will benefit from home cage advantage in his battle with Derrick Lewis this weekend at UFC Fight Night 110 na Nova Zelândia.

NEW YORK – June 2, 2017 – Relevent Sports, a division of RSE Ventures, and Combate Americas today announced a groundbreaking partnership to produce “Combate Clasico,” a spectacular, de classe mundial Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) live television event in Miami, Fla. em Quinta-feira, Julho 27.

In the main event of a 10-bout affair that takes place at Mana Wynwood, the two premier, pound-for-pound fighters from rival cities in Spain – Abner “Skullman” Lloveras (20-9-1) of Barcelona and Javier Fuentes (9-4) of Madrid – will face off two days before the El Clasico Miami, a meeting between global soccer powers Real Madrid and FC Barcelona at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. The match, which marks the clubs’ first meeting in North America and the first outside of Spain since 1982, is part of the International Champions Cup presented by Heineken.

The “Combate Clasico” live MMA event will be part of a nearly week-long extravaganza that will begin with a match between marquee soccer clubs Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain at Hard Rock Stadium on Julho 26 as well as concerts, parties and other interactive events prior to El Clasico Miami on Julho 29.

The pride of Barcelona, the 34-year-old Lloveras is a 2010 Spanish Olympic boxing tournament Gold Medalist and three-time national boxing champion. Lewiston, Maine (Junho 1, 2017) - Fights Nova Inglaterra (NEF) retorna ao Androscoggin Bank Colisee em Junho 17 com um card de luta apresentando artes marciais mistas (MMA) e lutas de boxe profissional. Hoje cedo, a promoção anunciou o cartão de luta completo para o evento. O cartão de luta está sujeito à aprovação da Autoridade de Esportes de Combate do Maine (CSAM). A parte de encaixotamento do cartão começará em 7 pm EDT com o cartão MMA para seguir imediatamente.

 

Em um tão esperado “Superfight,” Estrela do Maine MMA Bruce “Pretty Boy” Boyington (14-9 MMA, 1-0 boxe) enfrentará o melhor boxeador do Maine Russell “A sensação haitiana” Lamour, Jr. (15-2, 7 KOs) em uma luta de boxe de seis rounds. A luta será uma partida dos sonhos para os fãs que nunca esperaram ver cada esporte’ os melhores atletas do estado se enfrentam. Boyington e Lamour foram apresentados em combates transmitidos pela televisão nacional na NBC e ESPN nos últimos anos. “Quando você considera os dois lados, esta é provavelmente a luta de mais alto nível que já aconteceu no NEF,” disse NEF co-proprietário e promotor Nick DiSalvo. “Essa luta poderia facilmente ser inserida em qualquer card do UFC no FS1 ou Fox e roubar o show. Qualquer um desses atletas poderia ser convocado após essa luta. Nossos fãs estão prestes a ver algo especial.”

 

O card amador do MMA será encabeçado por uma luta pelo título com Rafael “Deez Nuts” Velado (4-0) defendendo o campeonato amador dos leves contra o Maine Amateur Wrestling Alliance Hall of Famer Pat Kelly(3-0). Na idade 52, Kelly será a lutadora mais velha a lutar por um título do NEF.

 

Além das lutas, boxeador lendário James “Buster” Douglas (38-6-1, 25 KOs) fará uma aparição em “NEF 29” como o convidado de honra. Douglas fará um meet-and-greet de uma hora com os fãs no Colisee de 6 pm para 7 pm antes do sino de abertura. LOS ANGELES — Bellator MMA is proud to announce the signing of heavyweight knockout artist Roy Nelson (22-14) a uma exclusiva, contrato multi-luta.
