Ivan Buchinger is back!

S. PETERSBURG, Russia (March 10, 2018) — Former M-1 Challenge featherweight champion John “Hoc est” Buchinger rebounded from his title loss last November with an impressive win over Andrey Krasnikov in tonight’s M-I provocare 89 principale eventus, at M-1 Arena in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

The judges had an uneventful evening as only one of a dozen fights on the overall M-I provocare 89 card went the full distance for a decision in this true International event. Fighters represented 11 different countries: Russia, Slovacia, Ucraina, Brazil, Adrabigania, Gallia, Belarus, Georgia, Bulgaria, Israel and Spain.
Buchinger (33-6-0, M, I: 7-2-0), pugnatorum de Slovakia, originally captured the M-1 Challenge featherweight title on October 17, 2014, cum stetissent Tural Nizami on punches in the fourth round, in M-I provocare 52 De proelium Nocte. HOUSTON, Texas – Alliance legatum Pugnans (LFA) and the two promotions that merged to create it, RFA and Legacy FC, saw several more alum show up in full force and shine on the biggest stage when the UFC hosted UFC 222 in Las Vegas this past weekend.

Seven former fighters competed, which included three former champions. The seven fighters included Brian Ortega, Sean O’Malley, Mackenzie Dern, Alexander Hernandez, Pedro Munhoz, Zak Ottow, and Jordan Johnson. That group made up 29.16% of the entire card. Six of the seven fighters were victorious with the lone loss coming via controversial split decision.
“I am always excited to watch the many fighters from LFA, RFA, and Legacy show what they can do in the UFC,” stated LFA CEO Ed Soares. “What we saw on Saturday night at UFC 222 is further proof that we are are producing the top prospects in MMA.”

In cooperatione consectetur, former RFA featherweight champion Brian Ortega, stole the show with a first round knockout of former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar. The undefeated contender known as “T-City” is widely regarded as one of the most dangerous submission masters in the sport, but it was an uppercut that allowed him to become the first person to finish the future Hall of Famer. The win also earned Ortega a shot at the UFC featherweight title and a $50,000 UFC “Performance of the Night” bonus.
The “Sugar Show” was also in full effect on the main card as Sean O’Malley continued to wow fans with his creative and wildly entertaining striking arsenal against Andre Soukhamthath. The LFA standout unleashed a flurry that nearly finished his opponent at the end of Round 1. Soukhamthath was literally saved by the bell as he was stumbling around as the round ended. The second round saw O’Malley impress on the ground with his underrated submission attack. Autem, it was the third and final round, that etched O’Malley’s name in MMA lore. After badly injuring his right foot, to the point he couldn’t stand on it, O’Malley finished out the fight by grappling. The huge lead he had built on the score cards through the first two rounds gave him the Unanimous Decision win. It resulted in a $50,000 UFC “De proelium Nocte” bonus and the first time Joe Rogan interviewed a winning fighter while he was lying on his back.
Mackenzie Dern made the most anticipated UFC debut of the year in the final fight of the preliminary card. The multiple-time jiu-jitsu world champion got her start in MMA with LFA and Legacy FC. Dern has since seen every step of her progression in the sport followed closely by media and fans alike. The daughter of legendary jiu-jitsu and judo black belt Wellington “Megaton” Dias, Dern possesses the greatest grappling skills of any woman to compete in MMA. Dern used those skills in her UFC debut to close out the final round on her opponent Ashley Yoder’s back. She was unable to finish the Rear Naked Choke, but it was enough to earn her the Split Decision win.
Alexander Hernandez made his UFC debut on a week’s notice against #12 ranked Beneil Dariush. Like the old adage states, “with great risk comes great reward.” The Texan powerhouse, who made his mark under the LFA and RFA banners, wasted no time in dispatching his heavily favored and much more experienced opponent. “Alexander The Great” connected with a big left hand to knock out Dariush in just 42-seconds. The win earned him the other $50,000 UFC “Performance of the Night” bonus.
Zak Ottow also picked up a quick first round win. The RFA and Legacy FC alum earned a TKO win over UFC mainstay Mike Pyle midway through the opening round. The bout served as Pyle’s retirement bout and Ottow gave a touching show of respect to Pyle in his post-fight interview. This was Ottow’s third UFC win and the first after signing a new extension with the promotion.
Jordan Johnson got things moving in the right direction for the LFA alum at UFC 222. The former RFA light-heavyweight champion kept his undefeated record intact with a Split Decision win over former UFC heavyweight Adam Milstead. The win should set up a marquee matchup for the man who was victorious in the final bout under the RFA banner.

Buchinger (32-6-0, M, I: 7-2-0), pugnatorum de Slovakia, captured the M-1 Challenge featherweight title on October 17, 2014, stopping Tural Ragimov on punches in the fourth round, in the M-1 Challenge 52 De proelium Nocte. “I did not suffer any injuries,” Buchinger reflected on his loss to Dalgiev. “Physically I felt good, but I was extremely disappointed because my opponent was so lucky to deliver a nice punch. It was just a lucky punch that knocked me out. Everything went as planned up until that moment, when I made a single fatal mistake. He was lucky that night, bit I don’t want to belittle Khamzat’s skills. He’s an excellent fighter and a great person.
“Would I win a rematch? I don’t want to make any predictions but, if we fight for the second time, we will see who is going to be the winner. But I am sure that I am a better fighter than him. Real champions do not care about who they fight, so I will fight any opponent to get my belt back. Everybody knows who the true champion is, ita, as soon as I have an opportunity to win the title, I’ll do it.”
The road back to the top for Buchinger will not be easy. His adversario, Krasnikov (14-3-0, M, I: 0-0-0), plans to make a big splash in his first M-1 Global competition, positioning himself for a future M-1 Challenge title shot. Russian kickboxing specialist Viktor Kolesnik (11-3-1, M, I: 2-1-1) takes on M-1 Global first-time fighter David “Davi Boxer” Silva de Souza (7-2-0, M, I: 0-0-0) in an intriguing match-up of contrasting styles of fighting.
Former UFC and Bellator fighter, Canadian flyweight Chris “The Greek Assassin” Kelades (12-3-0, M, I: 1-0-0) may have found a new home in M-1 Global, but he faces a tough challenger, Vitaliy Branchuk (23-7-0, M, I: 2-3-0), Ucraina.

NEW YORK – February 28, 2018 – Combate Americas today announced“Combate Estrellas I," the premier Hispanic Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) sports franchise’s first live television event of 2018, and the first event of a two-part series featuring a collection of Combate Americas’ top estrellas, or “stars,” that will take place at Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles, Ill. on Friday, Aprilis 13.

Headlining the 10-bout card will be a much-anticipated, Bantamweight (135 libras) rematch between John “Sexi Mexi” Castaneda (16-3) atque Marc “Lufo” Gomez (21-11).

The second meeting between Castaneda of Mankato, A. and Gomez of Barcelona, Spain comes after the two collided in the semifinal stage of the inaugural “COPA COMBATE,” one-night, octo viri, $100,000 grand prize tournament that saw Castaneda advance to the championship stage of the historic event in Cancun, Mexico on November 11, 2017 after being awarded a unanimous decision over Gomez.

THOMPSON RETURNS FOR ONE LAST FIGHT AGAINST UNDEFEATED ARNOLD

Portland, Maine (February 26, 2018) - Pugnat New England (NEF) returns to Aura in Portland onAprilis 14, 2018 pugna artes promovendum, ad res bellicas, mixtum scriptor, “NEF 33: Riptide.” Superius hodie, NEF announced the addition of an amateur catchweight bout to the card. David Thompson (1-2) subibit Kam Arnold (2-0) at a fight weight of 140-pounds.

 

David Thompson will be appearing in what he says will be his last fight at “NEF 33.” A member of the Shatterproof Combat Club, Thompson has appeared three times in the NEF cage since his debut in the fall of 2015. He scored a first-round technical knockout victory over Richmond Pierce Wiegman (1-1) in his second amateur bout. The fight with Arnold will be Thompson’s first since a loss to Caleb Costello (3-4) in early 2016.

 

“I’m thankful to get back in there,” stated Thompson. “Kam is an exciting fighter, and I will be ready to leave everything in the cage, one last time.”

 

Undefeated Kam Arnold has emerged as one of the most-promising new prospects on the NEF roster over the last several months. He started his amateur career with a fast finish of Glenn Kasabian (1-3) last June, and followed up that performance with a first-round technical knockout of Kyle Kenney (0-1) at maturius hoc mense “NEF 32.” A native of Casco, Maine, Arnold is a product of Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) in Lewiston. A win over Thompson would position Arnold closer to a shot at the coveted bantamweight championship.

 

“I’m pretty stoked to get back in the cage against an NEF veteran like David Thompson,” said Arnold. “This should be a fun fight not only for me, but for the fans too. When all is said and done, Ego ero 3-0. 2018 is going to be my year. The 135-pound strap will be mine before the end of the year – mark my words!
