LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPION RETURNING TO NEF CAGE IN PORTLAND

Portland, Maine (Avril 26, 2018) - Combats Nouvelle-Angleterre (NEF) retourne à Aura à Portland, Maine avec son prochain événement mixtes arts martiaux, “NEF 34: Home of the Brave,” Samedi nuit, Juin 16, 2018. Reigning NEF MMA Professional Lightweight Champion “Le” Ryan Sanders (15-9) fera face Vince McGuiness (5-7) in a non-title bout at a fight weight of 155-pounds.

Ryan Sanders has had a storied career in the NEF cage. He competed in, et a remporté, the main event of the very first NEF card in February 2012 over veteran Dan Keefe (7-3). Sanders fought on ten of the first fifteen NEF cards, including the company’s co-promotion with Bellator in the spring of 2013. After more than a two-year absence from NEF, Sanders returned to the promotion in August 2016 and went on a five-fight win-streak over the course of the next year – the longest streak of his career. During that stint, Sanders captured his first gold in NEF – the coveted professional lightweight title – with a victory over Jon Lemke (7-8) Le printemps dernier. The bout with McGuiness will be Sanders’ first in the NEF cage since August 2017. He will be looking to bounce back from a loss in Massachusetts last month. Sanders is a longtime member of Bangor, Maine’s Young’s MMA fight team.

Originaire de Brooklyn, New York and current head coach of Bang Muay Thai in Tampa, Floride, Vince McGuiness is no stranger to the New England MMA scene. His two most recent fights have been in Massachusetts, and McGuiness has even competed previously on a Portland fight card in 2015. He will be looking to rebound against Sanders after losing his last four bouts in the cage.

Powell is the wife of current UFC signee and former NEF MMA Professional Lightweight Champion Devin Powell (8-3). “I’m thrilled to be competing again for NEF,” said Matulis. “Carol Linn and I are both budding amateur fighters. I know she’s hunting for her first win, but I plan to remain undefeated. NEF fans are accustomed to seeing spectacular WMMA bouts, and I fully expect this fight will keep to that standard.”

Genschel made her MMA debut at “NEF 26” à l'automne 2016 in a losing effort to a much more experienced Jessica Borga who already had five amateur fights to her credit. Portland, Maine (Avril 23, 2018) - Combats Nouvelle-Angleterre (NEF) retourne à Aura à Portland, Maine avec son prochain événement mixtes arts martiaux, “NEF 34: Home of the Brave,” Samedi nuit, Juin 16, 2018. Plus tôt aujourd'hui,, the fight promotion announced the addition of a professional light-heavyweight bout to the card. Micro “La Moustache” Hansen (5-9) doit se réunir Buck “Knuckles” Pineau (1-5) à un poids de combat de 205 livres-.

Mike Hansen, a veteran combat engineer with the US Army and former state wrestling champion out of Mountain Valley High School in Rumford, Maine, will look to get back on the winning track after five straight losses in the MMA cage. His last victory was in the fall of 2016 when Hansen handed Matt Andrikut (2-1) his first taste of defeat as a professional. He is determined to snap his losing streak on Juin 16 in Portland against Pineau. Hansen is a founding member of Berserkers MMA based in Rumford.

“Je suis excité de revenir dans la cage,” said Hansen. “I had to take some time off to let some injuries heal and coach the wrestling team. Now that that’s done, it’s time to get back at it. I’m happy to fight a guy like Buck. I know we have both been on a rough patch and lost some fights, but by the end of the night on 16 juin, someone’s losing streak will end. I’m going to make sure I leave with a win in June.”

Sur Juin 16 it will have been 45 mois – nearly four years – since Buck Pineau last competed in the NEF cage. Pineau was a staple on early NEF cards. From the company’s inception in February 2012 jusqu'à “NEF 14” en Septembre 2014, Pineau fought on a total of eight NEF events. À “NEF 9” à Biddeford, Maine, he fought in what is regarded as one of the most memorable bouts in the promotion’s history, tearing ligaments in his knee early in the fight but still pulling out a unanimous decision victory over Isaiah Queen (2-4). Despite staying active in recent years outside of Maine, Pineau has never competed in the NEF cage as a professional. He has lost his last four-in-a-row, and like Hansen, is looking to get back on track with a much-needed win at “NEF 34.” Pineau is currently a member of First Class MMA based in Topsham, Maine.

“I am very excited and for this opportunity to step back into the NEF cage and put on a show,” exclaimed Pineau when reached for comment. “I’ve had a lot of memorable fights with NEF, and I’m looking to make this another one! I’ve seen the majority of Mike’s fights. I know he’s a rugged guy who always brings it, so I’m extra excited to get in there and spill some blood together. Comme d'habitude, I will be looking to keep the distance and let these hands and feet go! Ça va être un bon combat!”

Le programme initialement prévu M-1 Défi 91, Avril 21 de Saint-Pétersbourg, vedette champion poids plume M-1 Challenge Khamzat Dalgiev contre le challenger américain Nate “Le train” Landwehr, has been cancelled. Dalgiev vs. Landwehr sera reporté au cours de 2018.

 

 

 

Doskalchuk (8-1-0, M-1: 2-0-0), un combattant de l'Ukraine, a remporté sa ceinture de titre en septembre dernier à M-1 Défi 83, quand il a utilisé un étrangleur à guillotine pour soumettre Vadim Malygin dans le second tour.

 

 

 

Invaincu dans la compétition M-1, Doskalchuk a remporté une décision majoritaire lors de ses débuts en M-1 en mai dernier, sur Binh Son Le à M-1 Défi 78.

 

 

 

“Je me fiche que mon adversaire ait une ceinture ou non,” Doskalchuk a dit. “L'essentiel est de bien se préparer au combat pour déterminer le vrai champion poids mouche. Je ne m'attends pas à ce que ce combat soit facile. Ça va être une bataille difficile et je vais chercher une opportunité de finir mon adversaire. Les fans verront un grand combat. Comment ça se terminera? On verra à The Rage!”

 

 

 

Ashimov (8-2-1, M-1: 3-0-0) a remporté son titre provisoire tourné en février dernier en s'arrêtant Gadzhimurad Aliev et Ervani Melonio avec des poinçons, respectivement, aux deuxième et premier tours. À M-1 Défi 87, le puissant frappeur kazakh a frappé Mikael Silander en deux manches pour remporter le M-1 Challenge Interim Flyweight Championship.

 

 

 

“Tout le Kazakhstan attend ce combat,” Ashimov a noté. “Je ne peux pas attendre car j’ai apporté la ceinture intérimaire au Kazakhstan et, si Dieu le veut, bientôt je ramènerai le titre incontesté. Je me bats contre un adversaire fort et expérimenté, que je respecte beaucoup, mais je serai prêt et cela montrera la nuit de combat. ”

 

 

La co-fonctionnalité est une confrontation de poids moyen entre un combattant russe vétéran Mikhail Zayats (23-8-0, M-1: 13-5-0) et passé challenger du titre poids moyen M-1 Challenge Caio “Hellboy” Magalhaes (10-4-0, M-1: 1-1-0), du Brésil. Zayats a combattu dans Bellator, Magalhaes dans l'UFC. Octobre dernier, Magalhaes a perdu son défi de poids moyen du M-1 Challenge face au champion Artem Frolov au moyen d'une décision unanime en cinq tours, tête d'affiche M-1 Défi 84.

 

 

 

Un autre combat de cartes principal a été annoncé mettant en vedette l'un des meilleurs combattants MMA de Chine, Musu “Iron King” Nuertiebieke (12-2-0, M-1: 0-1-0) contre le poids plume américain Daniel Swain (17-8-1, M-1: 0-0-1).
