BELLATOR SENDS BANTAMWEIGHT WORLD CHAMPION DARRION CALDWELL TO JAPAN ON NEW YEAR’S EVE TO CHALLENGE KYOJI HORIGUCHI FOR INAUGURAL RIZIN FF 135-POUND TITLE

cid:image002.png@01D48760.56661D90

לאס אנדזשעלעס - Bellator is pleased to announce that the organization’s current bantamweight titleholder דאַרריאָן קאָלדוועל (13-1) will represent the promotion in an exciting matchup against 2017 Rizin Bantamweight Grand Prix winner Kyoji Horiguchi (25-2). The two will compete for the inaugural Rizin bantamweight championship at Rizin 14 אויף מאנטאג, דעצעמבער. 31 from Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, דזשאַפּאַן.

In the three-round (15-minute) Rizin FF world championship bout – which will be held in a ring under Rizin’s unique rule set – the victor of Caldwell vs. Horiguchi will leave Japan’s historic combat sports venue a Rizin FF champion. Caldwell’s Bellator bantamweight title will not be on the line in the contest.

The latest agreement between Bellator and Rizin FF furthers a collaboration between the two companies which has seen multiple athletes, אַרייַנגערעכנט פעדער עמעליאַנענקאָ, "מלך מאָ" לאַוואַל און היסאַקי קאַטאָ אַמאַנגסט אנדערע, compete interpromotionally, but never before has a title from either promotion been on the line.

“Working for the Japanese fight company K-1 was a magical time during my promotional career and I have always felt strongly that MMA in the ‘Land of the Rising Sun’ would rise again. It truly is amazing to see what Nobuyuki Sakakibara has been able to do thus far with Rizin FF, so when he reached out to me about putting Darrion Caldwell against Kyoji Horiguchi for Rizin’s belt, we spoke to Darrion and he jumped at the opportunity,” Bellator President Scott Coker said. “Bellator wants to support Rizin, and by sending our bantamweight champion to compete during their New Year’s Eve event, we look forward to this leading towards more collaboration between the two promotions in 2019. I want to wish Darrion luck in his quest to prove he is the best 135-pound fighter on the planet.”

“I am very grateful and honored that Bellator and Scott Coker would send us their unarguable bantamweight champion to fight for Rizin’s first-ever world title fight. This title fight will be a true champion vs. champion to determine the world’s best bantamweight fighter,” Rizin FF President Nobuyuki Sakakibara said. “We hope this kind gesture will kick off of a series of exciting matchups between both promotions in 2019. My dream would be that eventually we can co-promote a mega event in both countries with a ‘Champion Carnival’ taking place where stories and rivalries can be built and told.”

Caldwell, a 30-year-old Rahway, נ.דזש. native and the current Bellator bantamweight champion, most recently moved up a weight class to challenge himself, successfully finishing veteran Noad Lahat. Fighting out of San Diego, קאַליף., “The Wolf” has emerged as one of the most well-rounded fighters in the world, collecting 10 victories since signing with Bellator in 2013. די 2009 NCAA D-1 National Champion wrestler from NC State boasts a resume that includes five first-round finishes, a 25-minute war against Eduardo דאַנטאַס to claim the world title and a textbook guillotine choke submission victory over לעאַנדראָ היגאָ in his first career title defense earlier this year. Caldwell will look for fifth consecutive win and a second world title belt when he enters the ring against Kyoji Horiguchi on New Year’s Eve in Japan.

I would love to have a tournament with all the contenders. We’d all fight multiple times on one night against everyone and the last man standing is crowned King. אָבער, פֿאַר איצט, I will fight who M-1 feels is the next contender. Andrey Lezhnev has earned his title shot against Lanwehr
Landwehr is a typical brawler with nice cardio,” Lezhnev commented. “Everybody who plays by his rules loses. He is also very provocative, he loves creating the hype around him. To retain his M-1 Challenge flyweight title

NAZRAN, Ingushetia, רוסלאַנד (נאָוועמבער 17, 2018) – The first and only M-1 Challenge flyweight champion, Aleksander Doskalchuk, made his second successful title defense last night in the ב-1 טשאַלאַנדזש 99, הויפּט געשעעניש, when he decisioned his Finnish challenger, MikaelHulkSilander, at Nazran in the Republic of Ingushetia in Russia.
Doskalchuk (10-1-0), פייטינג אויס פון אוקריינא, made his first title defense against then-Interim M-1 Challenge titlist Arman Ashimov, who Doskalchuk defeated this past June at ב-1 טשאַלאַנדזש 92, when his opponent suffered a hand injury and was unable to continue in the third round.
Aleksander Doskalchuk (ל) outworked challenger Mikael Silander to earn a unanimous decision win
Silander (18-7-0), who had his second title shot last night versus Doskalchuk, lost in an Interim title fight against Ashimov last February at ב-1 טשאַלאַנדזש 87, in which the Finnish fighter was stopped on punches in the second round.
Doskalchuk improved to 4-0-0 in M-1 Global competition with his five-round unanimous decision victory over Silander
אין די גלויבנס-ארויסגעשטעלטע געשעעניש, בראַזיליאַן כעוויווייט Klidson Farias de Abreau (14-2-0) turned in an impressive M-1 debut, using a straight armbar to force his Russian foe, AntonCherepovets GiantVyazigin (11-3-0), into submission in the second round. Abreau usually fights in the light heavyweight division, but he took on heavyweight Vyazigin, who was coming off a no-contest fight against living legend Sergey Kharitonov.
Russian featherweight prospect Abubkar Mestoev געהאלטן זיין ונדעפעאַטעד רעקאָרד בעשאָלעם, improving to 7-0-0 with his unanimous decision triumph against Elias AlvesJunior MaranhaoDa Silva (21-8-0). Mestoev had been fighting in the lightweight division, but moved down because he felt his lack of height was a advantage, yet he was considerably shorter in this fight with Da Silva.
In the Fight of the Night, Akexander Osetrov (5-0-1) won a three-round majority decision overSalem Evloev (4-1-0), who is the brother of M-1 Challenge bantamweight champion Movsar Evloev, who is rumored to be signing with the UFC. Salem was being touted as a successor to his brother in the not too distant future, but his first loss will certainly curtail his rise as a contender, and Osetrov has positioned himself for a future title shot.
אויך מלחמה אויף די הויפּט קאָרט, Brazilian lightweight מיטשעל “Sassarito” סילוואַ (21-7-1) employed a rarely used brabo choke to defeat previously undefeated Magomedkamil Malikov(6-1-0) אין קייַלעכיק צוויי. די 6′ 2″ Silva has a distinct advantage as the tallest M-1 fighter in the lightweight division.

Georgian welterweight Amiran Gogoladze (7-1-0) only needed 10-seconds to knock out Juho Valamaa (15-6-0) with a powerful punch. It was the shortest fight of the night as well as one of the quickest knockouts in M-1 history. רוסיש מידדלעוועיגהט Vladimir Trusov (3-1-0) defeated Russian Aslan Ismailov (2-1-0), by way of technical knockout in the third round, via submission to punches.
On the pre-undercard, רוסיש פעאַטהערוועיגהט Gleb Khabibullin (3-0-0) stopped Russian Amir Badiev (2-1-0) with a devastating punch in the first round, and veteran Russian lightweightLom-עלי נאַלגיעוו (15-7-0) decisioned Tursunbek Asylgaziev (10-7-0).

NEF FINISHES 2018 SEASON WITH SOLD-OUT EVENT IN PORTLAND

NEF FINISHES 2018 SEASON WITH SOLD-OUT EVENT IN PORTLAND

פֿאַר באַלדיק מעלדונג: Portland, מיין (נאָוועמבער 18, 2018) - New ענגלאַנד פייץ (נעף) held its most recent mixed-martial-arts event, “נעף 36: Battle for the Gold,” on Saturday night at Aura in Portland, מיין. The event officially sold-out days prior to doors opening. It was the fifth and final NEF event of the 2018 צייַט, and what many in attendance insisted was the standout show of the year.

אין די הויפּט געשעעניש, Ryan Sanders (18-9) put the NEF MMA Professional Lightweight Title on the line against Jacob Bohn (7-6). Sanders retained the championship after the cageside doctor stopped the fight due to a cut on Bohn’s head in the second round.

History was made when Ras Hylton (3-2) און Yorgan De Castro (3-0) faced off to crown the first-ever NEF MMA Professional Cruiserweight Champion in the co-main event. De Castro captured the strap in dramatic fashion with a violent first-round knockout of Hylton.

Matt Probin (3-0) made his long-awaited NEF debut against Lionel Young (7-16). Probin remained undefeated in his professional career when he forced a referee stoppage to strikes early in the second round.

In the opening fight of the evening, Taylor Thompson (3-0) און Catie Denning (1-1) waged an absolute war that had the entire crowd on its feet to kick off the amateur card. Thompson won a unanimous decision on the judges’ סקאָרעקאַרדס.

Later on in the amateur card, Megan Rosado (0-1) און Glory Watson (2-0) battled back and forth in another crowd-pleasing thriller that went the distance. Watson was victorious via split decision in a very close fight.

In the third and final women’s fight of the evening, Chelsea Tucker (1-3) picked up the first win of her amateur career with a late-fight technical knockout of BJ Garceau (1-1).

Zac Richard (3-0) remained undefeated with a first-round submission of Chris Lachcik (0-2). It was a fight that Richard had dedicated to the memory of his older sister Lacey who passed away from cancer six years ago this weekend at the age of 23.

Likewise, in a post fight interview, an emotional הענרי קלאַרק (5-4) dedicated his victory over Killian Murphy (1-2) to a friend of his named Justin who recently passed away.

NEF further announced that its next event, “נעף 37: SUB ZERO,” would originate from the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine on Friday, פעברואַר 1, 2019. The main event will feature דזשאָש “Hook OnHarvey (5-0-1) און BillJonesi” דזשאָנעס (13-11) squaring off for the vacant NEF MMA Professional Featherweight Title.

לאַס וועגאַס, נוו, (נאָוועמבער 17, 2018)The Main Event ofFFC 34featured an unforgettable Kickboxing title bout that was filled with non-stop action for all five championship rounds.

Samo Petje (36-6-1) retained his FFC Lightweight Kickboxing Title by defeating a very game challenger, Bruno Gazani (60-7-0), by majority draw (47-47, 47-47, 46-48).

As advertised, these two warriors (Gazani and Petje) went toe-to-toe in a very entertaining Main Event that had no shortage of crowd-pleasing highlights and thrilling moments. Gazani came forward and pressed the action for most of the night, using his solid boxing skills to his advantage. Petje was able to counter with high knees and vicious body kicks that ultimately led to the majority decision victory. It looked as if Gazani had knocked Petje down in the fifth round but it was ultimately ruled as a slip.

The night’s Co-Main Event, was another war that featured two MMA Heavyweights standing and striking for three straight rounds. טאני “Hulk” זשאנסאן (12-4-1) דיפיטיד D.J. “Da ProtégéLinderman (21-15-0) דורך יונאַנאַמאַס באַשלוס (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) in what was an absolute slugfest. Linderman suffered a large cut above his right eye early on in the fight and despite the constant stream of blood running down his face, he still decided to stand in the pocket and trade blows with Johnson.

קעווין “Thunderstorm” זשאנסאן (6-1-0) went the distance with Isaac Luna (3-1-0) in their Super Lightweight Boxing bout. Keys won by unanimous decision (59-55, 58-56, 59-55) in an exciting fight where Luna kept coming forward and forcing Johnson to engage all night long. Johnson countered well and was able to use crisp combinations to get the decision.

In a Kickboxing Catchweight matchup, Meletis “נייטמער” Kakoubavas (33-7-0) caught JermaineJ.J.” טהיקקעט (24-7-0) with a high right kick to the side of Soto’s head at the fifty-two second mark of round two of their three round fight. The fight was stopped after Soto rose to his feet from the canvas, resulting in a TKO victory for Kakoubavas.

The night began with Heavyweight Zac Cavender (1-0-0) winning his professional MMA debut with a first round TKO victory over Marius Cantoneru (0-2-0). Cavender’s ground and pound worked to perfection as a series of fists to the side of Cantoneru’s head caused the stoppage at the 2:30 mark of round one.
