UFC star Conor McGregor jumped an impressive 33 spots from last year’s index to claim the No. 5 spot in 2016, just behind golfer Rory McIlroy and ahead of Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James.
The ranking includes U.S. professional and Olympic athletes.
To determine the most valued athletes on social media this year, Chicago-based digital sports network 120 Sports collaborated with industry-leading social measurement and valuation platform MVPindex to rank athletes using a proprietary algorithm that evaluates all of their social activity throughout the past year. Wilson claimed the top spot for the second straight year with an overall ranking of 0.983, remaining at the center of the social spotlight this year not only for his athletic performance, but also for his recent marriage to singer Ciara.
O 120 Sports talent team will provide insights and analysis on the Top 25 list, as well as break down the top viral trends, videos and photos on social media from this past year, ranking their top 3 in a variety of categories that resonated with sports fans this year like “Best Athlete & Team Mannequin Challenge,” “Cutest Athlete’s Kid Dance,” and “Best Workout Session Video.”

STACKED FIGHT CARD OPENS THE YEAR FOR NEF IN LEWISTON

The 14-time UFC veteran began his professional career with victories in his first five fights, four of which came by way of knockout. Known as one of the top finishers in the sport, the 37-year-old Indianapolis native recently finished his run with his former employer, making the decision to test free agency. Known to many as “Big” John McCarthy, the longtime MMA referee will turn his attention to Bellator MMA’s “Fan Fest” and call the shots at a fun-filled day with some of the greatest fans the sport has to offer. McCarthy has officiated a number of memorable bouts promoted by Bellator MMA, the UFC and others, becoming one of the most notorious referees in the history of the sport.

HOLLYWOOD, TAL COMO. (Jan. 10, 2017) - Uma luta de peso catch pitting Melvin Guillard (32-16-2, 3 NC) contra Chidi Njokuani (16-4, 1 NC) servirá como o evento principal de Bellator 171 no Kansas Star Arena em Jan. 27.
O card principal transmitido pela SPIKE apresentará o retorno de "The King of Kansas" David Rickels (17-4, 2 NC), quem vai encontrar Aaron Derrow (14-8). Por fim, uma luta de peso médio com perspectiva invicta Chris Harris (7-0) contra Jordan Young (5-0) será apresentado durante a parte preliminar do evento.

Coenen strung together a remarkable start to her professional career, recording victories in each of her first eight bouts and 13 of her first 14. ‘BELLATOR 173’ HEADS TO THE SSE ARENA IN BELFAST ON FEBRUARY 24 AS LIAM MCGEARY TAKES ON CHRIS FIELDS

(Janeiro 10, 2017) – A light heavyweight bout pitting former 205-pound world champion Liam McGeary (11-1) contra Chris Fields (11-7-1) servirá como o evento principal de "Bellator 173: McGeary vs. Campos," which will take place inside The SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Sexta-feira, Fevereiro 24.

Hailing from Andover, Inglaterra, the 34-year-old McGeary will make the short trek up to Northern Ireland’s capital for the first time in his career, where he will once again compete in a main event. The former Bellator MMA light heavyweight champion will enter the cage for the 10th time under the Scott Coker-led promotion, where he has posted an 8-1 record with seven finishes. Following an 11-fight winning streak to begin his professional career, McGeary finally experienced the sour taste of defeat, quando Phil Davis wrestled the title away from him at ‘Bellator 163.’ McGeary has consistently proven to be one of the most dangerous strikers and submission artists in the 205-pound division, finishing his victim in 10 de 11 vitórias na carreira, including eight in the opening frame. Having made his Bellator debut in London this past July in London, Gallagher followed up in December with a submission victory over Anthony Taylor in front of a raucous home crowd at the 3Arena in Dublin.
