TEMECULA (Fevereiro. 23, 2017) – Top super welterweight prospects Chris “Young King” Pearson e Justin “The Chosen One” DeLoach weighed-in na quinta feira for their 10-round main event amanhã/Sexta-feira, Fevereiro 24 em ShoBox: A Nova Geração viver ALTURA DE COMEÇAR® (10 p.m. E/PT, atrasado na Costa Oeste) a partir de Pechanga Cassino & Recurso em Temecula.

 

Pearson, (14-1, 10 KOs, WSB 3-0, 1 KO), who trains in Las Vegas and fights out of Dayton, Ohio, bounced back from his first defeat with a dominant decision victory over Joshua Okine last April and is stepping up in class and opposition, while the aggressive-minded DeLoach, (16-1, 8 KOs), of Augusta, Ga. has won six in a row, including three unbeaten fighters in his last three outings.

“I have had my back against the wall before. I know how it feels. I perform at my best when I have my back against the wall. I know he’s a talented fighter and that he has power in both hands, but I also know that he looks shaky when he gets cracked. He’s an athletic guy, he’s fast and moves well, but I’m the more skillful fighter.

 

“DeLoach makes a lot of mistakes in the ring. I’m going to take advantage of that. He’s never been against a guy like me. He won’t pass through me. I’m simply the better fighter here.

If he comes up a little hotter, I believe my skills are going to dictate the pace and make adjustments as we go. Boxing is the sweet science but is not rocket science. You get in there and you find the advantage. You do what you have to do, adjust and get the win.”

On working with his new trainer, Lucius Robinson…

“I had some differences with my previous trainer [Paul Williams]. I wanted more of the mental side of training, not only the physical. We just had different philosophies so I decided to change trainers.

 

“I’m training with Lucius Robinson now and it’s a big change—psychologically and philosophically. I’m really breaking down what I’m doing in the ring. I’m not just going in there to fight. As a young fighter you get in the ring and you just fight, but you have to do more than that. I’m learning how to use my head in the ring. When I’m hitting you, I know why I’m hitting you, where I’m hitting you. I know what I’m going to do.

 

“Learning the mental side of my sport really took me to another level. Anybody can get in there and get knocked out—that’s why I had my first loss—but who can really go in there and do what Floyd does? Break an opponent down in the later rounds. Master the sweet science. That’s the biggest change I had in my career, to learn the mental side of the sport.”

 

On his last three fights…

He taught me a lot and took me to a whole different level. He was a replacement opponent, and my God, he’s a hell of a fighter.”

 

On his KO over Dillon Cook on ShoBox…

“It’s funny. I’m more of a boxer than a puncher. I don’t look for the knockout. I like to box. I think of myself as a boxer-puncher. I feel my opponents don’t usually know how much power I have. They underestimate me and I’m OK with that. My power catches them off balance.”

On fighting a southpaw…

“When you fight a southpaw, there are only two people you can study: Floyd Mayweather e Roy Jones Jr. If you watch tape on them you can learn a lot. It can help you develop your skills. I did my homework. I know exactly what I’m going to do amanhã."

 

On making weight…

“I never had a problem making weight. My body feels good. When I was with Ronnie Shields at the beginning of my career, I learned that if I take care of my weight early on, you can concentrate on training for the fight. Assim, that’s what I do. I make weight early and then I train hand to fight my opponent.”

“I want to look good. If I focus on dictating the pace for this fight, the knockout will come. My punches will keep on coming and I eventually will get some damage done. I’ll drop him and then, I’ll stop him.

“I’ve sparred with Mikey Garcia for years. He got me ready for almost every professional fight I’ve had. I would say we’ve sparred over 100 rounds. Eu aprendi muito com ele. I think that having him as a sparring partner it’s been a difference maker for me. It’s made me a better fighter.”

I’ll meet him down the road. I’m more interested in unifying. I want to get the WBC title and then I want to go for the IBF.”

“I watched some tape on him. He’s flat-footed and stays stationary. I know what he has to offer. I can adjust well. I got a good jab, a great body punch.”

 

On what’s next…

“I’d love a world title shot, but I’m going to stay patient. I’m still at Floyd’s gym and working hard. I want to be a heavyweight someday. I’d like to stay more active and fight more.

 

“If things go well, I’d like a title shot later this year. There are not a lot of American boxers in my weight class. I’d like to fight Shumenov Beibu. That’s who I want.

 

“I’d like to move to heavyweight later in my career.”

“I plan on beating Andrew Tabiti amanhã noite. I’ve prepared for this. We’ve done everything. I’ve been prepared for this fight mentally. I’ve never been 100 percent for a fight, except for this one.

 

“I’m not worrying about Tabiti. Tabiti is worried about me. He has the title to lose. That’s how I feel about it. I’ve seen his YouTube videos, and I’ve seen the mistakes he’s made. And I’m going to capitalize on those mistakes.

“Everybody can look good when you fight guys that can’t fight. His last opponent, [Keith] Tapia was good. But who else has he fought?

“I had a great amateur career. I had some stops and starts. I had issues when I didn’t get signed with a promoter coming out of the Olympic trials and that stalled my pro career a bit. My professional career started off slow. I’m not as active as I would have liked to be but I’m a young 34. I’ve never taken a beating. I fought five times and 2014, and twice in 2015 and last year, no fights. I live a clean life and don’t drink or don’t smoke. I just train. Every day.”

LOS ANGELES (Fevereiro 21, 2017) Twelve-time boxing world champion Floyd Mayweather, Jr. had an illustrious undefeated career that spanned over three decades and five weight divisions. The legend will celebrate his 40th birthday in style with several special events taking place this upcoming weekend in Southern California.
Mayweather, who is known for his larger than life personality, will begin his festivities Quinta-feira, Fevereiro 23 with an intimate dinner in collaboration with Hollywood Unlocked and Louie the 13th. Na Sexta-Feira, Mayweather will turn the ‘Big 4-0,’ ringside at Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula where his promotional company Promoções Mayweather is hosting a ShoBox: A Nova Geração fight card featuring young prospects from the sport which Mayweather left his indelible mark.
The weekend’s spotlight affair will be Mayweather’s official star-studded Oscars-inspired birthday gala Saturdayin downtown Los Angeles that is guaranteed to be opulent and over the top. Pearson, of Dayton, Ohio, lutando fora de Las Vegas, Nev., had an outstanding amateur career that saw him capture a National Championship in 2011. He bounced back from his first defeat with a dominant decision victory over Joshua Okine last April. The 26-year-old previously picked up victories over Janks Trotter, Steven Martinez and Said El Harrak.
The 23-year-old DeLoach is coming off a six-bout winning streak in which he delivered an impressive knockout over previously unbeaten Dillon Cook in his ShoBox estréia(VIDEO: Clique AQUI para assistir). He followed that up by knocking down previously unbeaten Junior Castillo twice on his way to a unanimous decision victory in June 2016 and most recently scored a unanimous decision victory over previously unbeaten Domonique Dolton. Fighting out of Riverside, Calif., Rodriguez scored a first-round knockout in his professional debut in 2011 against William Fisher and has continued to dominate since. CINCINNATI (Fevereiro. 19, 2017) – Adrien Broner e Adrian Granados battled in a close, back-and-forth main event Saturday on SHOWTIME, with the four-division world champion Broner eking out a split decision victory from Cintas Center at Xavier University in his hometown of Cincinnati.
A luta, que foi marcado 97-93 Broner, 97-93 Granados and 96-94 Broner, was a tale of accuracy vs activity. Granados (18-5-2, 11 KOs), a native of Chicago, was the busier fighter, throwing 683 comparado com 403 total punches for Broner (33-2, 24 KOs). “Entendo, I don’t have a perfect record, but I can beat any of these guys. You have seen the scorecards. Split decision. Come on. Give me another one. Let’s do it again. Eu não posso esperar para ver essa luta, because I know I won.

Na co-metragem canal Showtime Championship Boxing, Lamont Peterson (35-3-1, 17 KOs) narrowly edged WBA (regular) Welterweight World Champion David Avanesyan (22-2-1, 11 KOs) in an entertaining 12-round unanimous decision (115-113, 116-112 duas vezes) to become a two-division champion.
The fight was fought at close quarters from the start. Peterson attacked on the inside instead of working off his jab, as was largely his game plan when he unified the 140-pound division. Avanesyan and Peterson traded body punches and uppercuts, but it was Peterson who was more fluid and effective in the second half of the fight. Peterson committed to the body in the later rounds, conectando em 98 shots to the body over 12 rounds.
Both fighters connected on 40 percent of their total punches, but the real difference was that Peterson connected on 39 percent of his power shots compared to 29 percent for Avanesyan.
“I was expecting to pick up where I left off,” Peterson said of his 16-month layoff. “That may seem like a long time, but if you’re in the gym it’s not a long time. I took some steps forward hoje à noite. We’re looking to get back in camp and keep moving.
“I expected to put pressure on him the way he did. I didn’t think he would fight back as hard as he did. He showed he’s a champion and shows he’s at this level. I want to fight anyone in the welterweight division now.”
Avanesyan admitted it was a close fight but thought he did enough to get the decision.
“I thought that I was landing my punches more cleanly while his punches were being blocked,” Avanesyan said. “Lamont is very good but I thought the judges were impressed with his movement, but I had the power.”

After some confusion, referee Ken Miliner correctly deducted a point from Browne and gave Williams five minutes to rest. Williams took the nearly full five minute allotment but never seemed the same when he returned.
Browne floored Williams again in the fourth with a counter right hook, Williams beat the count but consistently ate shots as he struggled to gauge the distance. The third and final knockdown of the fight happened courtesy of a right hook in the opening minute of the sixth. Williams remained on the canvas complaining of an injured jaw, and failed to beat the 10 second count.
“He didn’t’ look like he went down, so I made sure he went down,” Browne said of the incident in the second round. “He was trying to stand up in the squat position so I pushed him down a bit more. He was in a squat – I didn’t see his gloves. I’m sorry. I wasn’t being dirty.”
The Staten Island native then called out WBC Light Heavyweight World Champion Adonis Stevenson: “Adônis, just give me my chance. Let’s go. I want that strap.”

An unbeaten prospect fight at home in Cincinnati, o “Assassino Silencioso” Clark picked up two victories in 2016 over increasingly quality competition as he stopped Elvin Perez in six rounds and earned a unanimous decision over Edgar Ortega. The 22-year-old last fought in his hometown in 2015 when he recorded a second round TKO of Joe Wilson Jr. and his fight on February 18 will make his third pro appearance in Cincinnati. He prepares to take on Benavides out of Chontales, Nicaragua who owns victories over Jay Krupp, Cody Richard and Joel Cerrud.

LAS VEGAS, NV (Fevereiro 14, 2017) – Former six-time world champion, Layla “Amazing” McCarter (38-13-5, 9 KO) looks to further her career under the Promoções Mayweather’ bandeira. The 37-year old Califórnia native is the second female professional boxer to sign with Mayweather Promotions, behind Latondria Jones.
McCarter boasts an impressive resume, having held titles across four different weight classes, and currently ranks #2 in the light welterweight division. Layla has been able to gain exposure by fighting on big stages, mais recentemente, on the Wilder vs. Arreola card in July 2016, when she defeated Melissa Hernandez by unanimous decision. McCarter has fought some of the best pound-for-pound female boxers, Incluindo: former WBC champion Alicia Ashley, which ended in a draw, current WBO champion Cindy Serrano, where McCarter earned a unanimous decision, and current WBA and WBC Featherweight champion Jelena Mrdjenovich was scored a split decision in favor of McCarter.

McCarter took her losses and turned them into fuel to drive her hunger and ambition, to become the most successful female boxer in the sport. Two years after her pro-debut, McCarter won her first world title in 2000, and has gone on to secure her own legacy.
“With the current state of women’s boxing and the great achievements Mayweather Promotions has accomplished recently, I felt it was the best thing for my career to make the move to the Mayweather Promotions stable,” says McCarter.
