ORENBURG CITY, Rusija (Svibanj 28, 2016) – Last night’s M-1 Challenge 66 event had its share of upsets, leading with a main event split decision victory by Rashid Yusopov over defending M-1 Challenge light heavyweight champion Viktor Nemkov, in Orenburg City, Rusija.
Bivši M-1 Challenge svjetlo prvak u teškoj kategoriji Stephan “T-800” Puetz took a unanimous 3-round decision from Andrey Seledtsov u suradnji značajke.
Russian challenger Yusopov (7-2-0, M-1: 4-1-0) won a hard fought 5-round split decision over defending champion Nemkov (23-6-0, M-1: 14-5-0), fighting out of Russia by way of Kazakhstan, who was making his initial title defense.
Nemkov had captured the coveted M-1 Challenge light heavyweight title this past December, taking a 5-round decision from defending champion Puetz, who had won a 5-round split decision April, 2014 against Nemkov for the title. Nemkov is a two-time M-1 Challenge light heavyweight champion having defeated Vasily Babich (WSUB3 – ruka blokiranja) for the vacant title that he then lost in his first title defense to Puetz.
The 23-year-old Yusupov was riding a 4-fight win streak going into his fight with Nemkov. A former Russian, European and World Amateur MMA champion, Yusupov is known as a dangerous striker whose signature moves are powerful kicks.
Puetz vs. Seledtsov was billed as “Terminator” vs. “Spetsnev” and it lived up to its name as Puetz won a unanimous 3-round decision. Puetz, Njemačke, had successfully defended his M-1 Challenge light heavyweight title twice, after beating Nemkov in their original championship match, protiv Luis Fernando Miranda (SUB2 – čok) Kolovoz 15, 2014 naM-1 Challenge 50, a Valery Myasnikov (KO/TKO2 – punches) Prosinac 17, 2014 naM-1 Challenge 54. In a non-title fight this past May, Puetz stopped then-M-1 Challenge heavyweight champion Marcin Tybura in the third round due to a severely damaged broken nose.
Seledtsov, 28, is a former Spetsnev solider known for his powerful boxing, combat samba and MMA background. A local White-Rex promotion champion, the Russian was making his M-1 Global debut.

M-1 Challenge 68, Lipanj 16 at Yubileyny Sports Palace in St. Petersburg, Rusija.
Emeev (14-3-0, M-1: 8-1-0) suffered a torn ligament in his elbow during training camp. In a M-1 Challenge Grand Prix Middleweight Tournament semifinals match last February, Vasilevsky lost a majority decision to Shlemenko in the M-1 Challenge 64 Borba noći.
“We were in a very difficult situation after Ramazan Ameev got injured,” M-1 Global predsjednik Vadim Finkelchtein explained. “The whole event was in jeopardy. A match between Russian middleweight Valery “Ruska Hammer” Myasnikov (10-1-1, M-1: 1-1-1) and Spanish veteran ENOC Rješava Torres (18-9-0, M-1: 5-6-0) has also been announced for the June 16th kartica.
“The M-1 Challenge 68 event is going to be huge,” Finkelchtein added. “We’re stacking the card with Alexander Volkov vs Attila Vegh fighting in an M-1 Challenge heavyweight title fight. Korobkov (9-0-1, M-1: 0-0-1) is coming off of a hard-fought draw with Rodrigo Magalhães(see above picture) last December at M-1 Challenge 63, in which he had his 9-fight win streak snapped that started with his pro debut.

Emeev (14-3-0, M-1: 8-1-0), fighting out of Russia by way of Dagestan, is the reigning M-1 Challenge middleweight champion, although his title belt will not be at stake against Shlemenko. The 28-year-old Emeev, koji je bio 2015 M-1 Global Fighter of the Year, is a two-time M-1 Challenge middleweight champion. Nemkov (23-5-0, M-1: 14-4-0) captured the coveted M-1 Challenge light heavyweight title this past December, taking a hard-fought 5-round decision from defending champion Puetz, who had won a 5-round split decision April, 2014 against Nemkov for the title. Nemkov (Zamislio na lijevo) is a two-time M-1 Challenge light heavyweight champion having defeated Vasily Babich(WSUB3 – ruka blokiranja) for the vacant title that he then lost in his first title defense to Puetz.
A native of Kazakhstan who fights out of Russia, Nemkov will be making his initial title defense of his second championship belt against Yusopov.

The 23-year-old Yusupov (6-2-0, M-1: 3-1-0), fighting out of Sochi, Rusija, has won four fights in a row to put himself into title contention. A former Russian, European and World Amateur MMA champion, unlike many of his fellow countrymen from the North Caucasus, Yusupov (na slici dolje) is a dangerous striker whose signature moves are powerful kicks. He is also a top-notch wrestler, evident by his M-1 Challenge victories against Charles Andrade a Martin Zawada.
Puetz (13-2-0, M-1: 4-1-0), fighting out of Munich, Njemačka, successfully defended his M-1 Challenge title twice, after beating Nemkov in their original championship match, protiv Luis Fernando Miranda (SUB2 – čok) Kolovoz 15, 2014 na M-1 Challenge 50, a Valery Myasnikov (KO/TKO2 – punches) Prosinac 17, 2014 na M-1 Challenge 54. In a non-title fight this past May, Puetz stopped then M-1 Challenge heavyweight champion Marcin Tybura in the third round due to severely damaged broken nose.
The 28-year-old Seledtsov (5-1-0, M-1: 0-0-0) is a former Spetsnev solider who has a solid boxing, combat samba and MMA background. The powerful Russian is the local White-Rex promotion champion.

The M-1 Challenge 65 Fight of the Night was between Russian middleweight prospect Artem Frolov (6-0-0, M-1: 2-0-0) protiv Kristijan “Kličko” Srebro (8-3-1, M-1: 0-2-1), in which Frolov won by way of an opening-round submission by way of an arm-bar.
