Berto comes to fight. He comes for war and wont give up ever, but that makes two of us. – Victor Ortiz
CARSON, CALIFORNIA. (Abril 14, 2016) – O ex campión do mundo “Vicioso” Victor Ortiz held a media workout in Los Angeles Thursday andshared thoughts on his upcoming primetime rematch with former champion Outro “The Beast” Berto en Sábado, Abril 30 en Premier Boxeo League en Raposo & FOX Sports a partir de StubHub Centro en Carson, Califa.

Ortiz and Berto will square-off in a rematch of their 2011 Fight of the Year in which Ortiz took home a victory as both men hit the canvas throughout the 12-round affair. Agora, Ortiz is preparing for another big victory that could catapult him back to world title contention.
Here is what Ortiz had to say about Berto, training camp and more:
VICTOR ORTIZ
On his first bout against Berto:
I made a lot of mistakes that night but I did enough to get the victory. I always said if I ever got the rematch, I would end him and now I have the chance.
Berto had an off night. I wasn’t at my best either, but I destroyed him regardless. This time we’ll both be at our best.
Berto just talks and talks. When you have to hype yourself up just to think you have a chance, that’s on you. I don’t need to talk myself into thinking I’m going to win. I just know I’m going to win.
We’ve both had some wars since our first fight, but if you can’t back it up, you should just stop.
I had injuries heading into the last fight, but now you have two guys who are 100 por cento. That is going to make for an even better fight this time around.
On the rematch with Berto:
Berto comes to fight. He comes for war and wont give up ever, but that makes two of us.
We have been through a lot in the last five years. He hates me. I have no hate in my heart, but I know it’s a sport. I’m not leaving that ring without a victory.
Berto wants to hurt me just as bad as I want to hurt him. I’m ready to go again. This is going to be a Fight of the Year for sure.
Anytime you have to convince yourself that you’re going to beat me. That you actually had a chance the first time, there’s a lot wrong with you.
It’s a sport. It’s not personal. Two guys going back and forth. I want to rip his head off and he wants to rip my head off. Its nothing personal. We can go get a burger after the fight.
He’s a heck of a fighter and a boxer and I am too. He’s had his fair share of wars. He’s had his fair share of injuries and I’ve had mine.
I would hate someone that took my undefeated record. So maybe he hates me, but I don’t hate him. Whatever his mindset is, Abril 30 is right around the corner and I’m ready.
On working with Coach Joseph “Hoss” Janik & David Rodela:
Coach Hoss has always been there 100 por cento. He has been in my corner about a decade and he knows the game better than a lot of the people I’ve worked with. Every fighter needs to find a ‘zenwith their coach and I have that with Coach Hoss.
I feel like this is the best fit for me. Hoss has been with me through it all, from being dropped, to the hospital and everything. He always says that this is just another way to make you stronger.
I also have coach David Rodela in my corner. We were once upon a time rivals and now we are closest of friends. It is a true ‘Grudge Matchright there. Now he just tortures me in training.
On his acting career:
At this point I have one focus. For the next three or four years I am going to be 100 percent focused on boxing.
I’ve had big celebrities and actors come up to me and say ‘you’re Victor Ortiz, can we take a picture?’ It’s mutual respect, but it’s also kind of crazy. I don’t overstep my boundaries.
I don’t watch the movie I’ve been in. That is too much. Some people like to see themselves on the screen, I’m not one of those people.
On his positive attitude:
I believe that if you’re a bad person, bad things happen. I’m a hard worker. I used to work construction and out in the fields. I never complained. Always smiled.
I wake up in the morning with a smile on my face. People take some things too seriously. Of course there are haters out there, but I don’t pay attention to any of that. I’ve found that a good positive attitude goes a long way.
It doesn’t matter what people say. What matters what I want, what I’m going to do. Abril 30is going to be the rebirth of me.
On what’s next after Abril 30:
I’m ready to fight for a world title. Especially after this victory that’s coming. This is for personal satisfaction. Berto has been talking for five years and I’m ready to go.
I took a different route, a different approach. Por? Because I wanted to try other things. Do I have to be here? Non. I turned down two movies to be here. Boxing is my first and true love.
I’m ready to conquer the 147 e 154 pound divisions and Andre Berto is standing in my way right now.

“Meu poder e velocidade aínda están alí. Estou contento por esta loita xurdiu porque vai ser unha gran noite para os fans.
“Non vou correr a miña boca e dicir cousas só para os medios de comunicación. Vou gardalo no arena.

E/5 p.m. PT and features two exciting undercard attractions. Light heavyweight sluggers Edwin “La Bomba” Rodriguez (28-1, 19 Kos)e Thomas “Top Dog” Williams Jr. (19-1, 13 Kos)meet in a 10-round brawl plus former three-division world champion Fernando “Cochulito” Montiel (54-5-2, 39 Kos) faces unbeaten Mexican brawler Jorge Lara (27-0-2, 19 Kos) in a 10-round featherweight battle.
Ortiz and Berto first faced off in their 2011 welterweight world title barnburner that garnered significant Fight of the Year buzz. The bout saw both men hit the canvas twice, including a thrilling round six in which each fighter was knocked down. Ao final, Ortiz walked away with a unanimous decision. A victory in the rematch will propel the winner to the forefront of the world title picture in this stacked with talent division.
I know I’m in for another war,” dixo Ortiz. “I’ve always been open to a rematch because Berto has a big mouth and something to prove. After our fight, he went on a losing streak, because I gave his opponents a blueprint on how to beat him. My losses have been unfortunate, but I wouldn’t want to come up against me at this stage in the game. My name is Victor and that’s no coincidence.
This is the fight the people have been waiting for and it’s time to give it to them,” Dixo Berto. “I am in a good place mentally, physically and spiritually. I’ve never wanted my story to be perfect, that’s boring. Life is filled with ups and downs and I’ve embraced them all in my career. Everything I’ve been through has turned me into a savage. It’s time to close this chapter once and for all. I want his head!”
The undercard bouts are sure to feature exciting two-way action as the experienced veterans Rodriguez and Montiel look to hold-off rising contenders in Williams Jr. and Lara.
This is a very big fight for the light heavyweight division,” Dixo Rodríguez. “Thomas brings it, pero así como eu. You can expect fireworks from the opening bell as we are both looking to put on a sensational performance. Dito, the light heavyweight championship is right around the corner, and there is nothing that is going to stop me from getting there.
I’m thrilled to be fighting on this card,” Williams dixo. “When they called me about this fight, Dixen, ‘I love it, let’s make it happen.I think that it’s going to be a really exciting and fan-friendly matchup. Edwin is a strong fighter who I know is going to be prepared to bring it on fight night, and I’ll make sure I’m ready to do the same.
It’s a pleasure to be on this fight card and I promise an exciting night for the fans,” Dixo Montiel. “I came up short in my last fight, but I am determined to become a world champion in a new weight class. I always come to fight and I will be throwing punches non-stop until I’m victorious on April 30.
I’m blessed to be back in the ring as part of this great night of fights,” Dixo Lara. “My dream is to be a world champion, and to do that I have to beat fighters like Montiel. Eu respecto o meu adversario, but right now he is on my way and nothing is going to stop me.
Os ingresos para o evento en directo, que é promovido pola TGB Promocións, custa $209, $105, $53, e $27, máis impostos aplicables, taxas e taxas de servizo, xa están á venda e están dispoñibles para compra en liña en AXS.com.
PBC on FOX in primetime debuted on Xaneiro 23 and featured a thrilling three-fight card that was topped by undefeated star Danny Garcia conquering former world champion Robert Guerrero to claim a welterweight world title in a back-and-forth brawl. Another exciting contest in the welterweight division is sure to thrill those watching at home and the Southern California boxing fans in attendance.
We are proud to be bringing this long awaited rematch to the StubHub Center and the Los Angeles boxing fans,” dixo Tom Brown de TGB Promocións. “Victor Ortiz and Andre Berto battled back in 2011, and their meeting on April 30 will take care of unfinished business.
After the overwhelming success of the return to boxing on FOX in January, after an almost 20 year absence, FOX Sports and FOX Deportes are thrilled to present the second Premier Boxing Champions fight on Abril 30,” dixo David Nathanson, FOX Sports Xefe de Operacións Comerciais.
StubHub Center is excited to host this welterweight bout on Sábado, Abril 30,” said Katie Pandolfo, General Manager of StubHub Center. “We look forward to an exciting rematch and an electric atmosphere at the premier outdoor boxing venue in the United States.
Un loitador empolgante que nunca foxe de acción, Ortiz returned to the ring in December 2015 one year after injuring his hand during a third round stoppage of Manuel Perez. The 29-year-old stopped Gilberto Sanchez Leon in his last bout for his second victory in a row. Ortiz was a 147-pound world champion when he defeated Berto in 2011 a creación dun enfrontamento con Floyd Mayweather. O Kansas nativa pasou un tempo nos últimos anos para filmes papeis en películas como “Southpaw” e “The Expendables 3” but is now fully focused on a return to the pinnacle of the welterweight division.
Berto is a former amateur standout and Olympian for his native Haiti. He challenged now-retired pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather in September. The offensive-minded Berto always makes for sensational scraps as his 2012 slugfest with Robert Guerrero was another Fight of the Year candidate. The 32-year-old thrilled in his PBC debut last March when he stopped Josesito Lopez in the sixth round of their welterweight showdown.
Un afeccionado realizado que gañou unha 2006 Luvas de Ouro nacionais medalla de ouro e un 2005 U.S. Campionato Nacional da medalla de ouro, the 30-year-old Rodriguez enters this fight a winner of his last four fights. Nacido na República Dominicana, pero loitando fóra de Worcester, Massachusetts, Rodriguez’s only loss came to the undefeated Andre Ward in 2013. He owns impressive victories over previously unbeaten fighters Will Rosinsky, Jason Escalera, Ezequiel Osvaldo Maderna, Craig Baker and Michael Seals. Against Seals, no seu último ataque en Novembro 13, Edwin rose from the canvas to score a devastating third-round TKO in what was a ‘Fight of the Year’ candidato.
Williams Jr., a 28-year-old from Fort Washington, Maryland, was introduced to boxing by his father, a former pro fighter. A dynamite puncher, Williams Jr. has registered seven of his 13 knockouts in the first round. Con todo, the southpaw has also proven his endurance with unanimous decision victories over warriors like Michael Gbenga, Yusaf Mack and Otis Griffin. Most recently he earned two victories, including a second-round TKO over world-ranked contender Umberto Savigne last November.
The veteran Montiel won his first world title in 2000 sobre Isidro García e pasou a ter título vencendo performances máis de Pedro Alzacar, Ivan Hernandez, Caps Z, Ciso Morales e Hozumi Hasegawa. Nacido en Sinaloa, México, Montiel rode an eight-fight win streak heading into his October world title shot against Lee Selby. Montiel’s aggressive style frustrated Selby but it was not enough for him to grab a title in his fourth weight class.
Invicto fóra de Guadalajara, Jalisco, México, Lara fixo súa U.S. debut on March 7, 2015 cunha primeira parada redonda de Mario Macias en Las Vegas. The 25-year-old has ended seven of his last nine opponents early including experienced contenders Jovanny Soto, Jairo Hernández e Oscar Ibarra. He looks to rebound from a technical draw in his last outing after the fight was stopped in six rounds due to numerous cuts Lara had received from accidental headbutts.

Fighting for the vacant WBC Welterweight World Title in the first Premier Boxeo League (PBC) en FOX evento, Guerrero came out aggressively in the first four rounds using a solid jab and strong over hand left hands to control the action.
Garcia acclimated well to the pressure in the fifth round, finding his range and using potshotting right hands to halt the oncoming Guerrero. The theme would play itself out during the second half of the fight as well with Garcia dominating the action. Sensing the fight slipping away, Guerrero came on strongly in the final round with both combatants fighting to the bitter end as the crowd stood and roared with approval.
Said Garcia following the victory, “It was what I expected. I knew I would win at least eight or nine rounds. I knew there would be some head butts in there. He head butted me so much on my forehead.
I was throwing my combinations, using my legs like my dad told me to do. I knew he was going to come to fight. He’s a rugged warrior. I’m back where I belong. I am now a two-division world champion.
Guerrero is tough. No one has ever stopped him. El veu para loitar; he was in shape. I’m taking nothing away from him. I am glad it went the way it went. I just want to take some time off, let my body heal and take one day at a time.
Father/trainer Angel Garcia dito, “I thought it was a good fight. There were a lot of head butts. He is a dirty fighter. Ao final do día, Danny pulled it off, it doesn’t matter what people say.
I knew Robert was going to be at 100. It was a world title fight. Anytime it is a world title fight, no one is going to slouch. When you come to fight a former champion or champion, it’s going to be a battle. These are elite fighters and there is always going to be a great fight.
Stated a disappointed Guerrero, “I want a rematch and that’s it. Not one person out there thought Danny won, but his team. I pressured him, I nailed him, busted his body up. Eu
out-jabbed him.
I thought I won the fight. The crowd thought I won the fight. Foi unha gran loita. I am happy I’m healthy. volverei.
It’s all for the fans. That’s why they bring me back. They love it and they enjoy it. They were entertained tonight. They thought I won the fight.
Continued Robert’s father and trainer Ruben Guerreiro, “”I know we won it. He kept running and holding, running and holding. How are you going to win a fight when you run and hold every time?
We wanted to win every round and I think we won every round. Quero un desquite. That wasn’t fair. I want a rematch as soon as possible.
Punch stats showed Garcia with a wide margin of power shots landed, 33 percent to Guerrero’s 24 por cento.
In a 10-round welterweight battle, “Sarxento” Sammy Vasquez of Monessen, Pennsylvania improved to (21-0, 15 Kos) with a sixth round stoppage of Aron Martinez, (20-5, 4 Kos) of Michoacan, México.
Peppering Martinez with a piston like jab, Vasquez controlled the action using his full skillset to
score points at will against the slower Martinez. Staying the aggressor through round four and five, Vasquez continued to beat Martinez to the punch using a battering right hook.
The bout ended abruptly as Martinez was not able to continue following the sixth round due
to a left elbow injury.
Said Vasquez, “Of course I won the fight, but Martinez is a tough competitor, a tough Mexican fighter. I tried to mix it up with him a little bit, but there was no sense in me trying to do that. I could have easily outboxed him, which I started to do, but I wanted more. I was just starting to warm up.
A victory feels good of course, but I wanted more. I wanted to go 12 rounds, if it would have lasted that long. I wanted a very decisive win. Desafortunadamente, he got hurt, but every fight is a learning experience for me.
It’s on to the next chapter and I’m ready for all of the guys at the top. Eventualmente, I’m going to get them.
A disappointed Martinez stated, “I hurt my elbow. I couldn’t throw my jab. I started to feel it in the third round. The doctor stopped it.
I was doing okay. Not my best. I tried, but once I hurt my elbow, I knew it was going to be tough to continue.
Opening the telecast was an outstanding heavyweight back and forth brawl between
2012 U.S. Olímpico Dominic “Dificultade” Breazeale, (17-0, 15 Kos) de Glendale, California and Emir “Hardcore” Mansour, (22-2-1, 16 Kos), de Philadelphia.
From the first bell it was readily apparent that both big men would throw bombs throughout
with Mansour in particular throwing caution to the wind.
Swinging wildly Mansour dropped Breazeale early in the third stanza, badly shaking the former
college football quarterback.
Con todo, Breazeale confidently kept his composure, fighting his way back in the fourth. With Mansour apparently running out of gas in the fifth round Breazeale went to work, drilling the
muscular southpaw with battering uppercuts and hooks on the inside.
Following the fifth round, Mansour bit through his tongue and cited a jaw injury (which was not broken) and could not continue as the valiant Breazeale was awarded the well-earned victory.
Said a happy Breazeale, “I didn’t know what happened. Usually when they wave off a fight, it’s over. Shows I have punching power after all.
I’ve been on the canvas before. I just had my hand in the wrong place. I knew I could get back up. Estou en gran forma. It happens to the best of us.
I’m a fighter at heart and I wanted to just get in there and brawl, but I new I had to stick to the game plan and box him.

Here is what the participants had to say at Thursday’s press conference at the Conga Room:
Danny GARCIA
I want to thank Ruben Guerrero because he’s awakened the devil. Eu non podo esperar paraSábado night to show the world what Danny Garcia is all about. I feel fast, I feel strong and I’ll see everyone Sábado.
My dad and I are chilling right now, we’re business men. They set it off and they woke us up. That’s the last thing you want to do to us. I’m going to bring the heat. He never faced a guy like me. I’m sending a message.
I haven’t felt this way in a long time. It’s that feeling you get when you know you’re going to put on a great performance.
“Eu me sinto gran. I’m keeping my composure and staying focused. Sábado night will be another night of work for me.
I’m the type of fighter where I can be cool, but certain things bring out the anger in me. I don’t feel any pressure. I’m going to go in there and be Danny Garcia.
I’m going to make adjustments. I know he wants to get dirty but we have an answer for everything he has.
ANGEL GARCIA, Pai de Danny & Adestrador
“Danny tiña un gran campamento. It was a beautiful camp. He looked great sparring. This is a new beginning in his life. There’s a new man in town.
There’s no doubt Robert’s coming to fight. This is boxing. He’s supposed to come to fight. I know he’s not going to come in here and play with Danny. We’re ready for anything he brings to the table.
We’re not going to let Robert take away what Danny has worked his whole life to get. I worked hard to make Danny the man he is today.
Danny is going to be the new champion of the world Sábado noite. After that we’re going after the other belts. Fight night is going to be about Danny and Robert.
Robert Guerrero
We’re really ready to go. We trained hard and did everything we had to do. There’s nothing left now but to do it.
I have to go out there and show my heart. Everything I put into this, I want to get even more out. I’m a hard worker and it will translate into the ring.
I’m excited to get to the fight and take care of business. As my dad says, ‘we’re ‘letting the roosters go.It’s time to fight.
I’m very grateful to be fighting on this show as the return of boxing is back on FOX. I’m ready to settle our business in the ring.
All the talking is done. He said he’s going to knock me outwell we’re going to see. I’m ready to represent the Mexican people and bring the fans a great, action-packed fight.
A title is on the line and I’m extremely motivated to silence the critics who are doubting me. I’m ready to become a champion once again
RUBEN GUERRERO, Robert’s Father & Adestrador
I wish the fight was today, because we’re ready. Danny Garcia better be ready. It’s over. It’s time to fight. It’s going to be a bloody and rough fight. We’re bringing everything.
Same thing that happened to Andre Berto is going to happen to Danny. His dad better be ready to throw the towel in.
Sammy VASQUEZ
This is going to be my first time fighting in L.A., and so far it’s been a blessing. Everyone has accepted me with open arms.
Training camp has gone amazingly well. I know Aron is going to bring it. He’s that type of fighter. He’s got a lot of heart, a lot of grit and he’s going to come at me. It’s going to be an incredible fight.
“Para min, I’m supposed to be at the top with the top guys. I’m not like the guys that Aron Martinez has beat. I know he’s on a high right now and it’s my job to knock him off of it.
This is probably the biggest stage I’ve been on. Fighting in primetime is huge. The city has accepted me and I’m going to take that feeling into the ring Sábado noite.
Somebody is going to get stopped and I’m pretty confident in myself. Estamos preparados. I’m excited and I feel like I’m going to win. We’re going to do it.
Aron MARTINEZ
I’m just really happy to be here. I’m thankful for everyone who got me here. Everything has run smoothly and we’re feeling ready.
My team is calm and ready to go. This is where I grew up. What else can I ask for? I have a lot of people coming to support me and I’m excited.
It feels like I’ve been training for a whole year. I have no problem with the southpaws, I’ve been preparing for that in camp. We’re so focused and ready for this opportunity.
We respect each other. We’re here to do a job. I respect Sammy. He’s a veteran. But once you get in the ring, it’s a different story. Everything goes out the window. He’s a boxer and a good counter puncher. But we have a plan and there won’t be any excuses.
I’ve never been more ready than I am for this fight. I had a good training camp. My whole team has really gone above and beyond. Vai ser unha guerra. There’s nothing else to say.
Dominic Breazeale
I’ve been waiting to get into the ring for a long time. I’m chomping at the bit. I’m anxious to get in there.
This has been one of those camps. We had a fight in December. Charles Martin got away from me, but we’re going to get him back.
They say you can’t go from the football field to the boxing ring, but I’m doing it. Undefeated and going for another knockout.
That’s the first time I’ve seen him in person. He’s a midget compared to me. I don’t think he has any chance at all o sábado noite. I’m looking for a great knockout.
Anytime you get a chance to fight on primetime TV is amazing. I fought on primetime during the Olympics and I’m looking forward to doing it here in front of my fans. If you’re not a fan of mine yet, you will be after Sábado.
I hope Amir Mansour had a great camp as well because I’m going to bring it. It’s going to be fireworks.
AMIR MANSOUR
I’d like to thank everyone who helped me get this opportunity. PBC is doing a great thing with boxing and this is going to be another great fight.
I’ve been winning fights, knocking guys out. We’ve all had trials and tribulations, I certainly have. But I’m a real fighter and a true fighter. I love the sport of boxing and I dedicate myself to the things that have gotten me here.
Sábado I’m going to go in there and do my thing. You can’t come from a football field into the ring with me. It’s not going to work for you. I’m not going to allow it. I have a history of putting everything on the line in that ring and Sábado will be no different.
TOM BROWN, Presidente da TGB Promocións
This fight is about finding out who the best is. All great fighters want the opportunity to be in a fight like this.
The show is headlined by one of the most exciting undefeated boxers, Danny Garcia, against a former world champion in Robert Guerrero. We know for sure that this is going to be a battle of two great warriors. Both men are going to bring everything they’ve got to this fight.
DAVID NATHANSON, Head of Business Operations for FOX Sports
This will be first of many events we will be doing with PBC on the FOX Network this year. It’s the first of some great things to come. Thanks to PBC for being such great partners and we’re thrilled to bring this fight into every home in America.

The fighters worked out with their trainers at City of Angels Boxing gym in Los Angeles. Aquí está o que os participantes tiñan que dicir Mércores:
Danny GARCIA
This is another fight that is going to make me a bigger star. Tal Como Sábado noite, I will be at my best.
I’ve had 31 loitas profesionais. A lot of them have been big fights. This is another fight to me. There’s nothing you can say that gets to me.
I feel like I represent all the Latino people. Not just Puerto Rican-Americans or Mexican-Americans. I’m excited to go out there and show everybody a great fight.
I’m not the kind of person that talks a lot. I like to speak with my left hand and my right hand.
“Ao final do día, all the fans want to see is good fights and they’ll appreciate that.
I always go for the knockout, but we’re ready for a war.
“Non poñer calquera presión sobre min mesmo. I just go in there and take it one fight at a time. I’m not thinking about my record when I step in the ring, I just want to get the job done round-by-round.
ANGEL GARCIA, Pai de Danny & Adestrador
We left 140-pound as the champ and now we’re looking to do the same at 147. When you come to fight Danny Garcia for a title, you better come 100 por cento listo.
We know Guerrero is going to be ready and we know what he brings to the table. We have an answer for everything he’s got.
Xaneiro 23, it’s going to be for all Latinos in L.A. and all of America. Danny is going to be the welterweight world champion.
Robert Guerrero
Having the world title on the line just adds fuel to the fire. We’ll find out Sábado night how it all plays out.
We’ve been training hard. We derailed off the tracks a bit, but we went back to square one in camp, back to what got me here in the first place. We put it back together.
Going up against an undefeated fighter adds motivation to my drive. I want to defeat the undefeated guy, especially with this opportunity. I want to raise everybody’s eyebrows.
We’re not going to let the fans down. If the opponent doesn’t come to fight, Vou. That’s just the way I am. Whenever somebody watches me it’s always exciting.
RUBEN GUERRERO, Robert’s Father & Adestrador
We’re going to show the world. We’re warriors. We come to fight. The fans are going to love this fight.
It all depends on if Danny comes to fight. I’ll give him credit if he does. They’re going to find out where Robert is at after this fight.
Robert is a full-fledged welterweight. We’re coming in light and ready to go.
I don’t get heated. I’ve been there before. I just say it as it is. Whatever comes out of my mouth comes out. They better be ready, because we’re ready. Angel Garcia better be ready to throw in that towel, because Danny is going to take a beating.
Sammy VASQUEZ
My time in the military helped turn me into a man. I joined at a young age and it’s made me the person I am today. Boxing in front of thousands of people is an honor and I’m going to enjoy it.
We’re here to take care of business come Sábado noite. Hopefully I can keep fighting people above me in the rankings. This is a great stepping-stone for me. Eventually we want one of these guys in the main event.
Boxing died out in Pittsburgh a little bit until Paul Spadafora brought it back a little bit. I’m trying to be the next one. I’m a fun guy to follow for a lot of reasons and I just want to make myself known.
I made it through two tours all in one piece and there are a lot of people who weren’t as lucky. To be able to give anything back is truly special.
We have to shine o sábado noite. This is our chance to show that we belong. Being able to stop Aron Martinez would put me on a bigger stage.
I don’t know where I’ll be at on the welterweight scale if I get this win. But I’d love to fight either Danny Garcia or Robert Guerrero. Time will tell. I intend to fight for a world title by the end of the year.
Aron MARTINEZ
Every fight gets harder and harder. We’ve had a great training camp and we’re ready to brawl. Expect a good fight o sábado night and expect some fireworks.
I thought I won the fight with, Robert Guerrero but it’s boxing. You have to move on and use it as motivation the next time you’re out there.
This is my backyard. I started my career here and it’s a great opportunity for people to get to see me. I want to put on a great show.
Vasquez is like any other fighter. Only thing special is that he’s undefeated. He doesn’t want to lose that but nothing worries me about him. This will be tougher than my last two fights, but we’re ready.
I think we’re going to steal the show. Está invicto, a southpaw and he definitely doesn’t want to lose. It’s my hometown though, so I’m going to put up a good fight and make it a war.
Dominic Breazeale
It’s been a great training camp. Meu adestrador, Manny Robles, has done a great job. He’s worked on helping me establish my jab and got me ready for a very tough fight.
I talked to Gerald Washington myself and he said he let it slip away in his fight against Mansour. The first four rounds he was really controlling the range. It’s definitely something that I’ve been studying.
“Na división dos pesos pesados, everyone can throw punches. Anyone who believes I’m not tough enough will be proven wrong Sábado. Mansour is a really experienced guy and I’d like to knock him out and put on an exhibition.
I’ve got the age on him and I’ve got some height and weight. I have a great pedigree and he has the pro experience. He’s been in a lot more rounds than I have but I’ve been in a lot of tough fights.
My heart is definitely set on Charles Martin after this fight. After pulling out of the fight and everything that happened there, that’s on my mind after this fight.
Mansour is a big, aggressive guy so we’re ready for anything he can bring. My athletic background will help me as will my mind because it’s all about making adjustment in the ring.
You’re not going to see me hanging out on the ropes because I’m going to move around the ring. My skills will be the difference.
“É un soño estar loitando na STAPLES Center. I’m so close to family and friends. It’s going to be a livelier fight week than I’ve been in before.
I always try to turn it up around the third round. I never look for the knockout, but I’ll turn it up and try to hurt him.
AMIR MANSOUR
I let my trainers watch the opponent, they give me the game plan and I take it from there.
“Non hai presión. I know how to transform everything that we do in the gym into the ring and block out all the pressure.
My team knows a lot about Dominic. My team has helped me get prepared for what I need to do to get this victory.
I can’t sit here and say I’m not nervous, everyone is nervous before fight day. You have to embrace that and overcome that. This is my dream, this is where I want to be and this is my moment.
