Fight-4-Fitness will also feature great healthy food options, vendors, a merchandise booth, kids scavenger hunt, live performances, physical activities geared toward fitness and fun, PLUS MORE! НЬЮ ЙОРК (January 23, 2017) – Boxing journalist Стив Farhood was the special guest speaker at last Tuesday night’s Ring 8 monthly meeting held at O’Neill’s Restaurant in Maspeth, Нью-Йорк.
Farhood is being inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame this June. The popular Brooklynite, is the former editor-and-chief of The Ring and KO Magazine, in addition to being a veteran television commentator, including his current role for Showtime’s ShoBox: Шинэ эх үүсвэрийг бий болгох since its inception in 2001. Онд 2002, he received the prestigious Sam Taub Award from the Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA) for Excellence in Broadcasting Journalism.

Baltimore Boxing to help raise funds for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

Headlining “Scary Night at the Fights” is an eight round super middleweight contest between rugged Baltimorean Jessie “The Beast” Nicklow and unbeaten Virginia native Chauncey “Grimm” Fields.

One-hundred percent of the proceeds are given as Operation Knockout continues to build on its efforts to raise more money and help more wounded soldiers and their families. With help of its generous sponsors and donations, “Operation Knock” had raised more than $170,000 going into this year’s event.

“We train our warriors to suppress strong emotional reactions in the face of adversity, to tolerate physical and emotional pain, and overcome the fear of injury and death. The military can’t decrease the intensity of that conditioning without negatively affecting the fighting capability of our military. It is a Catch-22. A chilling truth is service members are, simply put, more capable of killing themselves by sheer consequence of their professional training and we are losing 22 a day. This must change. We need to retrain our warriors on what defines success for them.”

Our mission is to help provide a proper meal to families for Thanksgiving who may be experiencing tough times during the holidays. Each year we put together an initiative to give back to families around Thanksgiving, and this year we decided to put together a “Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway.” The giveaway is designed to bring families together for a morning of joyous giving, and help to alleviate the worry and stress that families may endure, due to little or no resources. This year we will provide 100 turkeys to those in attendance. We encourage as many families to join us and we recommend early arrival, to ensure you receive a turkey. We will be joined by some of the Mayweather Promotions boxing stars who will be in attendance to assist with the turkey giveaway and meet with families.
