Live on CBS Sports Network
Las Vegas (Mey 31, 2016) – An old-time grudge match between lightweights DemondBody Shot” Brock ary Chuy “Hurrican” Gutierrez will headline the third installment of the “Knockout Night at the D” andian, Zoma alina, Jona 10, tanteraka ny fandaharana (11 p.m. SY / 8 p.m. PT) velona CBS Sports Network from the outdoor Las Vegas Events afovoan-tanànan'i Center (DLVEC).
The “Knockout Night at the D” andian, presented by Las Vegas ny D and DLVEC, is promoted by Roy Jones Jr. (RJJ) Fampiroboroboana ny ady totohondry.
Brock versus Chuy has been a fight in the making for years and now the dream is a reality,” nanao hoe: Keith Veltre, PDG / Co-Founder of Roy Jones Jr. Fampiroboroboana ny ady totohondry. “As Brock defends his title, Chuy will fight to the end to regain the title that he let lapse. This fight promises to be an all-out war and the winner will move into a national spotlight. Thanks to the ‘Knock out Night at the D’ andian, Derek Stevenson is giving Las Vegas prospects an opportunity to make a national presence.
Brock (11-3-1, 4 Kos) will defend his USNBC title against former USNBC lightweight champ Gutierrez (14-0-1, 4 Kos), who never lost his belt in the ring, which has set the stage for this Las Vegas showdown to determine who the USNBC belt truly belongs to. Adding fuel to the fire is the fact both fighters train in Las Vegas and have growing fan-bases.
The 35-year-old Brock, who fights out of Kenner, Louisiana, learned to box in the Louisiana State Penitentiary, while serving his 14 ½-year sentence there for armed robbery. In prison, he won 39 ny 40 fights with 17 knockouts, eventually finishing his amateur career with an outstanding 54-3 rakitsoratra.
Last November in El Paso, Texas, the RJJ-promoted Brock upset 9-1-1 Oscar Valenzuela, capturing the vacant WBC United States (USNBC) lightweight title by way of a unanimous 8-round decision.
Gutierrez is from Sinaloa, Meksika, the home of Hall-of-Famer Julio Cesar Chavez among many other top fighters born there. A love of baseball kept Gutierrez occupied, mandra-, as he says, “boxing found me.Gutierrez was attending college at South Nevada and working, still dreaming of becoming a major league baseball player, when he walked into the famed Johnny Tocco’s Ringside Boxing gym at the age of 21.
Bitten by the boxing bug, Gutierrez turned pro in in 2010 and he’s rapidly developed into a fan-friendly fighter, largely due to his aggressive, entertaining style. Amin'ny 2014, Gutierrez won an 8-round majority decision over Rashad Ganaway(14-4-1) for the vacant USNBC lightweight crown.
The unbeaten Gutierrez wants his belt back and he’s determined to take it from Brock, izay, mazava ho azy, believes otherwise. They will settle the score Jona 10faha- in the 10-round main event that promises fireworks.

In the night’s 10-round lightweight co-main event, red-hot Filipino prospect HarmonitoEl Huracan de Gensan” Dela Torre (17-0, 12 Kos) will make his debut on US soil against capable veteran Guillermo Sanchez (15-18-1, 6 Kos) ny Buffalo.

Guivas Taking a Realistic Approach to Facing ‘Big BabyMiller in CBS-televised Showdown next Friday at Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino

Topeka, Kansas heavyweight NickTwo GunzGuivas is taking a realistic approach to facing one of the most dangerous up-and-coming heavyweights in the world next weekend.
Guivas (12-3-2, 9 Kos) will take on undefeated WBO #11, WBA #12 and IBF #15 Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller (16-0-1, 14 Kos) for the WBO NABO Heavyweight Championship on Zoma, Mey 27, 2016, at the Seneca Niagara Resort & Niagara Falls Casino in, New York.
The two power-punching heavies will meet in the main event of Greg Cohen Promotions’ (in association with Salita Promotions, Adam Wilcock’s FightCard Promotions and David Schuster’s Winner Take All Productions) next instalment ofChampionship Boxing on CBS Sports Network.
In the 10-round lightweight semi-final bout, red-hot Filipino prospect HarmonitoEl Huracan de Gensan” Dela Torre (17-0, 12 Kos) will make his debut on US soil against capable veteran Guillermo Sanchez (15-18-1, 6 Kos) ny Buffalo.
Tickets ho “Tompon-daka tamin'ny ady totohondry CBS Sports Network” manomboka amin'ny $35 and are available at the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino boaty birao,www.ticketmaster.com or you can charge by phone at 1-800-745-3000.
I’m coming there to win, Tena,” hoy Guivas, “and I know I’m a lot smaller than him, but I think I can move around and stay away from his punches. He’s a very heavy hitter, so I’m going to move and box him and see what the outcome is. I’m going to give this guy everything I’ve got. And I know he’s coming to fight too, so at the end of the fight, may the best man get their hand raised.
Taking on the red-hot Miller is not a job many heavyweights are hoping to get at the moment, but Guivas says the time is right for a challenge of this magnitude.
I’m at the part of my career where I need to step up,” he explained. “When they offered me the fight, I was already somewhat in shape, so I said let’s get in better shape and see what we can do. I think at this time I’m ready for it.
Guivas says he respects Miller’s power, but might have some openings to get a few things done. “Nandritra ny taona maro, I’ve gotten smarter in the ring. I know the guy is a heavy puncher and had a really good amateur career. He’s got a good jab, but he doesn’t have super fast hands. I’ve also noticed he tends to wear down in the later rounds, so I have to take him deep and see if I can out-box him.
A service technician for Coca Cola during the day, Guivas stared boxing and had his first fight at age eight. He ultimately had around 200 amateur fights and was a two-time silver gloves medalist, won the regional Golden Gloves tournament twice and went to the PAL Nationals. He got the nicknameTwo Gunzfrom promoter Damon Reed.
“My mampiroborobo, Damon, is my promoter and a fighter too. He gave me that name because of the size of my arms and because I hit him one time and he said he felt like he’d been shot with a gun.
Guivas says he’s working hard at the Danger Fire Gym in Topeka, before and after work every day, and doing things a bit different to prepare for Miller.
I get up early in the morning and get my run in and then in evenings after work I do my boxing and sparring. I end up doing four to five hours a day of training. Tsy manan-tsafidy, but to do it like that. Taloha, I’ve had one or two sparring partners for a fight, and I would go five or six rounds with that guy. Ary noho izany ady, we brought in five guys and I get a fresh one every round. And the guys I’m sparring with are guys that are at the next level or getting ready to become top fighters. I’m getting a fresh look from different guys every round.
A good counterpuncher and a decent boxer, Guivas says a victory Zoma manaraka would change everything.
I think beating Miller would definitely put me to the next level. The guy is top 10. If I can get the win I’d be in the money next time. I don’t fight just for the money though. Tiako ny hiady. That’s what I do.
Amin'ny ady alina, varavarana misokatra ao amin'ny 6 am ary ny hetsika manomboka amin'ny 7:00 am. The Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino is located at 310 4faha Street in Niagara Falls, NY. Raha mila fanazavana fanampiny, antso 877-873-6322 na fitsidihana www.senecaniagaracasino.com.

With both men training in California, the two met for the first time at The Palms Restaurant about their fight and respective training camps before they head east to Brooklyn for the primetime battle.
Eto no ny mpandray anjara tsy maintsy hoe Alakamisy:
JESOSY CUELLAR
I’ve been training very hard for this fight. You will see on June 25 that I have one of the best chins out there. I’m excited to finally have this fight.
I have no bitterness towards Robert Garcia. I’ve seen him and I’m thankful for him making me a champion. This is business. This is work.
We’ve been training in Big Bear for a little over two months now so I’m pushing myself very hard for this fight. I’m thankful for this great opportunity and I want to make the most of it.
“Then June 25, I will once again give it my all and leave it all in the ring. At the end of the fight I will prove who the champion is and raise my hand in victory.
I’m focused and well prepared. I’m ready for anything that happens. I know I’m going to win the fight. It doesn’t matter how, but I’m going to win.
This is the same team we’ve had for four years, whether Robert Garcia is here or not. We’re ready to take on anyone.
We’ve wanted this fight for two years and finally it is the time. We’re going to be in great shape and I know Mares will be in great shape too. We’re very happy that the fight was made. Jona 25 I’m going to prove that I am the number one featherweight champion.
I’m just excited to go in the ring and give my best on June 25. I’m going to bring the victory home to Argentina.
I’m thankful to be an Argentine champion and I’m happy to represent my country as the only world champion right now.
Abnera MARES
I’m really happy to be a part of this card against a really tough fighter in Jesus Cuellar. I know he’s mentioned that he wants to fight me and I’ve never been scared to do so. Izany momba ny fotoana rehetra. Now he’s going to know what it’s like to fight a top level fighter.
I’ve been in boxing for many years. I’ve fought many tough fights. Against Leo Santa Cruz it wasn’t the outcome that we wanted, but we showed that we have the heart and the intelligence to fight top level guys.
I’m happy that I’m fighting some with a legacy. Jesus Cuellar is a tough fighter, he hits hard and I respect him. I have nothing bad to say about him as a person. I know he’s going to be well conditioned, but I’m a level higher and I’m going to show it on June 25.
This is a fight that I can gain so much and Robert Garcia too. He’s going to show, through me, that it was a big mistake for Cuellar to leave him.
I feel great about the Santa Cruz fight, despite the loss on my record. It was a win, because I gained so much, a lot of respect and a lot of experience.
I have a lot of reasons to be excited about this fight. One, I’m finally going to New York. I’ve never been there in my life. Two, I will become a world champion again. Three, I’m definitely fighting a top-level fighter. As I’ve mentioned many times before, I like these types of fights. It always brings out the best in me.
Against Cuellar you’re going to see a different Abner, a new Abner. With Robert Garcia as my coach I have the slight advantage that he once trained Cuellar and took him to a world title. He’s a tough fighter, but he can’t say I’m not either.
JUAN MANUEL LEDESMA, Cuellar’s Trainer
We worked with Robert for four fights. We worked together and made Jesus a better fighter. Now there is the opportunity to continue working with Jesus, so I see no controversy or problems there.
The long camp was what we needed. We needed to clear up some stuff and work on some things that were lacking. We got extra time in the altitude and being in Big Bear we are away from any distractions. Jesus is focused on what he needs to work on.
Abner Mares is a great, skilled fighter. We have been working together to perfect the skills that we need to bring into the fight. When the day comes, we will be ready for the fight.
ROBERT Garcia, Reny’ Mpanazatra
When Mares first started working with me, we had no idea we were going to fight Jesus Cuellar. Now that we’re back in camp, I definitely have to take advantage of all the things I know about Cuellar. He has weaknesses that I know and I’m working on them with Abner.
Abner is a fighter who over the last few years has given a lot of exciting brawls and great fights. Abner has tremendous skills though. When I met him years ago he had those skills but they weren’t being honed. People will think I taught him these skills, but I’m just bringing them back.
Cuellar leaving me was the best thing that could have happened. If Cuellar hadn’t left, I wouldn’t have Mares. I got a great fighter and a great person. Things happen for a reason. We are going to do great things in boxing.
Stefana Espinoza, Filoha lefitra mpanatanteraka & General Manage, SHOWTIME Sports
Right now there is some criticism of boxing, that the best aren’t fighting the best. All you have to do is look at this card. These are the right fights. The right weight at the right time.
“Jona 25 we have two marquee matchups. All four fighters ranked in the top 10 in their respective divisions taking on each other. Thurman and Porter, Cuellar and Mares, this is the best doubleheader of the entire year. I will put these two fights against any doubleheader that airs on television. That was our focus when we turned to CBS for this broadcast.
The Thurman v. Porter and Cuellar v. Mares fights showcase fighters in the primes of their careers. What we have here are four fighters that are willing to take on the best, not make a spectacle of it. The go about their business with great care for the craft and they simply come to fight.
Featherweight is one of the hottest divisions in the sport. You know Abner Mares, he has one of the best resumes in boxing. If you look at the list of fights that he has had, there aren’t a lot of big names on it and now the New York City fans will get to see what he has to offer.
The champion, Jesus Cuellar has quietly put together his own very strong resume. What we have here is a fascinating matchup.
KEVIN ROONEY, Director of Communications, DiBella Entertainment
We’re truly honored and excited to promote this fight. Lou DiBella said at the New York presser for the main event that this is ‘the best this sport has to offer. These are not only tremendous world title matchups, but two of the biggest and most exciting matchups that can be made in their respective divisions taking place at Barclays Center, the premier sporting venue on the East Coast.
A testament to how big an event this is, is how the tickets are moving. We are hoping and anticipating that some fans will make it over from the West Coast.
Robert Garcia trained Jesus Cuellar for much of his career and the two won a world title together. Robert Garcia is here today but with his new charge, Abnera Mares. The two have their first fight together and they believe that this will be the best Abner Mares we have ever seen.
For Cuellar it will be his second fight with Juan Manuel Ledesma, but the two have worked together since Cuellar was a kid. It should be exciting to see how it plays out on fight night.
We know that Sergio Martinez will be there on fight night to cheer on his fellow countryman in Jesus Cuellar and we look forward to seeing an exciting fight.

Porter has spent the week in Brooklyn as he prepares for his Asabotsy, Jona 25fifandonana amin'ny Keith Thurman in the main event of SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING on CBS, presented by Premier Boxing Champions from Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Fahitalavitra mikasika manomboka amin'ny 9 p.m. SY/6 p.m. PT with featherweight world champion Jesosy Cuellar battling former three-division world champion Abnera Mares.
Tapakila ho an'ny Jona 25 zava-nitranga, izay nampiely ny DiBella Entertainment, manomboka amin'ny $49 ary amin'ny amidy ankehitriny. Tapakila azo vidiana amin'ny aterineto amin'ny alalan'ny fitsidihana www.ticketmaster.com, www.barclayscenter.com na amin'ny fiantsoana 1-800-745-3000. Tapakila ireo ihany koa ao amin'ny Express ny American Box Biraon'ny ao amin'ny Barclays Center. Group dia misy fihenam-bidy amin'ny fiantsoana 844-BKLYN-GP.
Mitafy, along with his father and trainer, Ken, are training at the world famous Gleason’s Gym as they prepare for Shawn’s primetime battle in the county of Kings. Porter invited Barak Bess of Sirius XM, Rhett Butler of The Shadow League and Nestor Gibbs of Tha Boxing Voice to try their best in the ring against the former champion, leading up to the rounds with Charlamagne.
Izao no ny mpandray anjara tsy maintsy hoe Alarobia:
Shawn Porter
It was nice and relaxed in there. My main goal was to not get caught with anything flush and give people something to talk about. It was really fun. These guys gassed out quicker than I thought. They might have thought I was coming to knock them out.
I hope these guys learned a little something and found out how much harder it is to do than to talk about.
Charlamagne did well. He came in with some toughness and a bit of a game plan. He knew I was here to put on a show, but he competed.
It’s easy on the outside, but it’s hard when you get inside this ring. To get them to feel that kind of excitement from this crowd, now they know. They were a little hyped up and in a world championship fight you have to learn how to hone that energy into something productive.
I feel really good and I’m glad to be here. I’m happy we came out to Brooklyn. It’s the tail end of camp and I’m ready to fight. Tsy andriko ny Jona 25.”
CHARLAMAGNE THA GOD
Before the sparring:
I expect Shawn to take it easy on me. Hopefully he doesn’t bruise me up too bad.
This will not be an Apollo Creed-Ivan Drago situation. Shawn doesn’t have anything to prove against me. He’s ready to prove it Jona 25 against Keith Thurman, not against Charlamagne Tha God right now.
After the sparring:
I watch boxing, so I respect the craft. I was in there for two rounds and I feel like I was running for two hours. This is no joke, respect boxers. If you see them in the street, don’t mess with them.
He was faster than I thought he was. Hand speed, foot speed and he had power. He got me pretty good a couple times, I’m glad I had this gear on.
Porter and Keith Thurman are two of my favorite young fighters. ‘One Timedoes hit hard, but if he doesn’t move, then Porter is going to be able to get on the inside and I think he can knock him out.
I really like both guys, so I don’t know who is going to win. I’m not a gambling man, but if I had to pick, I put my money on Porter.
KEN Porter
We’re fighting in Brooklyn and at Barclays Center and every time we’ve been there they’ve opened up their arms to us and been so welcoming. Shawn won his first world title here. So I thought, let’s go to Brooklyn and make it our home and become a part of what is going on here.
Shawn is in excellent shape, so he doesn’t need to get in shape during camp. We didn’t have to consider that when we decided to come to Brooklyn.
The people in Brooklyn have rolled out the red carpet for us. That’s why we’re here. We felt welcomed every time we came here to fight or to watch a show. I said let’s go home, let’s make Brooklyn home.

Haney (sary etsy ambany) is a 7-time national amateur champion, who captured a gold medal at the 2015 World Youth Tompon-daka, but he was unable to try-out for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Boxing Team because of his age. When headgear was eliminated from Olympic boxing competition, the minimum age for a U.S. boxer to compete in the Olympics was changed to 19, so Haney decided to turn pro at the age of 17 rather than wait four more years. Amin'ny voalohany, aza, he had a problem getting licensed in the U.S.
After having four successful fights in Tijuana, Meksika, Haney’s license was approved by the Nevada Athletic Commission and he won an impressive 4-round decision over Rafael Vazquez this past April 9faha- amin'ny Manny-Pacauiao-Timothy Bradley IIIshow at MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
