The 10-round main event is a classic match-up of contrasting styles between undefeated Oscar Cantu (14-0, 1 KO) and Aston Palcite (21-2, 18 Kos) for Cantu’s North American Boxing Federation (NABF) super flyweight belt, as well as the vacant World Boxing Organization (WBO) Inter-Continental super flyweight championship. Cantu is rated No. 4 (as a flyweight) mill-Kunsill Boxing Dinja (WBC), while International Boxing Federation (IBF) Pan American super flyweight champion Palicte is ranked No. 11 by the IBF and No. 15 mill-WBO.

In a pair of scheduled six-round fights, flashy 26-year-old Nichols meets another undefeated opponent, San Diego’s Kevin “KO” Ottley (3-0, 2 Kos), in an interesting match of unbeaten prospects that should propel the winner to the next level of the welterweight division, and constantly improving 21-year-old Moreno takes on Milwaukee’s Mike Fowler (5-3, 2 Kos) in the former’s eighth fight since turning pro March 20th. Fan favorite Ornelas, 18, will square off in his seventh the eighth fight of his six-month pro career against California bantamweight Jorge Perez (6-4-1, 3 Kos) in a four-rounder.
Ft. Worth, Texas junior featherweight Jessie Hernandez (7-1, 6 Kos) is also fighting on the undercard against Sharone Carter (6-1, 2 Kos) fil-logħba sitt round.

North American Boxing Association (Wkoll) United States lightweight champion Reynaldo “El Trampolin” Blanco (13-2, 7 Kos) defends his title in the 10-round main event against Demond “Body Shot” Brock (12-3-1, 4 Kos), fil-każ prinċipali 10-round.

CANCUN, Messiku (Ottubru 10, 2016) – The replay of the August 24th “Cancun Boxing” card, presented by Pepe Gomez Boxing in association with Neon Star Media, will air this Wednesday night (Ottubru. 12, jibda 10 p.m. PT / 1 a.m. U, on CBS Sports Network. Encore presentations will be Friday, Ottubru. 21 (7 p.m. PT / 10 p.m. U) and Friday, Ottubru. 28 (1 a.m. PT / 10 p.m. U).
The event is the third installment of the “Cancun Boxing” series that will air on CBS Sports Network in 2016. Grand Oasis Cancun the Hotel Complex, Cancun`s ONLY Ultimate All-Inclusive Entertainment Resort, will play host to all events in this ongoing series.
Hall-of-Fame announcer Al Bernstein and Sean Wheelock called the action live from ringside in Cancun, Messiku.
Future Hall of Fame candidate Jhonny Gonzalez (61-10, 51 Kos) defended his World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver super featherweight title for the fourth time, against Japanese invader Hiroysugi Yamamoto (19-12-2, 3 Kos), in the scheduled 10-round main event.
Gonzalez is Mexican knockout machine (51 karriera Kos) li, as the saying goes, has never been in a bad fight. The 3-time, 2-division world champion Gonzalez, ratata Nru. 4 by the WBC going into this fight, has been on a mission for one more world title shot.
The 35-year-old Gonzalez has defeated 11 world champions during his illustrious 17-year professional boxing career, including a Who’s Who of the bantamweight, featherweight and super featherweight divisions: Mark Johnson (KO8), Mares Abner (KO1), Jorge Arce (TKO11), Ratanachai Sor Vorapin (KO7), Fernando Montiel (DEC12), Irene Pacheco (TKO9), Elio Rojas (DEC12), Maurice Pastrana (TKO4), Hozumi Hasegawa (TKO4), Francisco Tejedor (TKO1) and Adams Rivas (DEC12).
Yamamoto, who was fighting in North America for the first time, is a former WBC Asian Boxing Council and Asia Pacific title challenger.

Ruiz (16-5-1, 6 Kos) replaced Emmanuel Quartey, who was unable to secure a visa, and he was rewarded with a 10-round majority decision victory over fellow Mexican fighter Hanzel Martinez (23-3, 19 Kos) for the vacant World Boxing Association (WBA) International super bantamweight title. “El Trumpo,” fighting out of Oxnard, California, put on a clinic, avoiding the lunging Martinez, who was frustrated throughout the fight by Ruiz’ slickness. Martiniz lunged, Ruiz countered and then he slightly moved to the side, avoiding any potential. Defensively, Ruiz was far superior, keeping Martinez off balance through out the majority of rounds. Ruiz (R) controlled most of the action in the main event
“Inħoss kbir,” Ruiz exclaimed. “I took this last minute fight but I was ready for it. Hanzel is a tough fighter. He has guts. I didn’t think he’d to the full 10 rawnds. This is an opportunity that will open a lot of doors for me. He knew he was coming to fight and I as ready for him.” In a good technical fight with a lot of give-and-take action from start to finish, unbeatenStephon “Showstopper” Young (15-0-3, 6 Kos) defeated Tony Lopez, Jr. (11-2, 4 Kos) in a battle of gritty southpaws. Fighting out of St. Louis, Young’s quickness prevailed over Lopes’ toughness, as both fighters put on a show for the vacant North American Boxing Association (Wkoll) bantamweight title in the co-feature.
