Sampson Lewkowicz proudly announces that budding superstar, and WBC World Super Middleweight Champion, Dawid “Czerwona flaga / Red Flag” Benavidez has renewed his exclusive Sampson Boxing promotional agreement.
20-year-old Benavidez (19-0, 17 KO), became the youngest super middleweight world champion in boxing history by winning a split decision over Romania’s Ronald Gavril last September. The Phoenix-based slugger says he’s happy to continue his promotional relationship with Lewkowicz.
“Sampson is a great promoter and he’s done a lot for me,” said Benavidez. “He’s always treated me and my team with respect and I was eager to re-sign with him. I can’t wait to defend my title against the best and become the great fighter I am with Sampson on my team.”
Father, co-manager and trainer Jose Benavidez says signing with Sampson was an easy decision for Team Benavidez.
“We are all really happy and excited,” powiedział. “We started with Sampson and he’s done a tremendous job. We are super satisfied with what he’s done and where we are at. We didn’t even think twice about it. I think when this contract ends, we’ll sign another one with him.”

Isamary Aquino Brings Home Bronze Medal

GUWAHATI, Indie (Listopad 26, 2017) — Coachella, California-native Citlalli Ortiz closed out her impressive 2017 Women’s Youth World Championships campaign with a split decision victory over Russia’s Nataliya Sychugova to take her first major international title in Guwahati, Indie.
“Today feels like one of the best days of my life,” stated Ortiz following her win. “Po walce, I doubted myself, but I am extremely happy I pulled out the win and it feels amazing being a world champion.”
Ortiz gold medal closes out a strong showing from the young American delegation. Team USA’s other medal, a bronze, was won yesterday by Isamary Aquino of Universal City, Teksas.
“I am extremely proud of my performance at my first international tournament,” said Aquino following her medal ceremony. “It was an honor to be able to represent Team USA and bring home a world championship medal.”
The remaining members of the team included: Aidyl Cardenas (Calexico, Kalifornii.),Diana Estrada (Hillsboro, Oregon), niebo Garcia (Mt., Kalifornii.), Roma Martinez (Pokorny, Teksas), Sharahaya Moreu (Albuquerque, N.M.) i Amy Salinas(Krzyże, N.M).
This year’s Youth World Championships brought 160 of the world’s top youth female boxers from 36 different countries all vying for one of the 10 world titles up for grabs. Jorge Diaz got off the deck to take home a eight-round unanimous decision over Adam Lopez and capture the WBC Fecarbox Super Bantamweight title.

“My coach was telling me to pick it up throughout the fight,” powiedział Alexander. “The rust got to me a little bit. I know that I can be more active. I really started to feel warmed up later in the fight. I know that I can do way better but I was happy to have this experience.”

“I love doing what I do,” powiedział Alexander. “This is what I was born to do since I was seven-years-old. I’m thankful to be back doing what I love.

The opening bout of the telecast saw unbeaten Miguel Cruz (17-0, 11 KO) earn a close unanimous decision over David Grayton (15-2-1, 11 KO) in a competitive welterweight clash.
Both fighters took their time getting started in round one before Grayton broke through in round two and stunned Cruz against the ropes late in the round. Cruz bounced back in round three landing a right hand late in the third round that forced Grayton to tie up and eventually tackle Cruz to the canvas in order to survive the round.
Cruz suffered his first cut of the fight during the round three exchange but fought through the wound under his right eye and dropped Grayton with a jab early in round six to score a crucial knockdown. The intensity of the fight continued into the eighth round when Grayton began to tee-off on Cruz as blood poured from a second cut, this one above Cruz’s right eye.
The back and forth battle continued until the final bell, with both men throwing wildly as the referee attempted to break up the action. Po 10 rounds all three judges saw the fight in favor of Cruz by the score of 96-93.

Peterson has won four of his last five outings, twice fighting at Barclays Center. A win should open-up additional title fight opportunities, both overseas and, ufnie, back here at home to help us continue building Wichita into a fight town.”
Ajtai (19-9, 12 KO) has already had 28 pro walki, including a full 10-round distance loss by decision last year at Madison Square Garden in New York City to two-time Olympic gold medalist Shiming Zou, Były World Boxing Organization (WBO) muszej mistrz świata. “I don’t think I’ll have many more fights at home,” Hernandez admits. “I don’t think that will matter too much because I feel more pressure fighting at home than elsewhere. I will miss everyone cheering my name like they do at home. I think I’ll be traveling more to fight bigger names to work my way up the ladder until I’m at the top.
“I think the early rounds in this fight (vs. Ajtai) will be a chess match because, from what I’ve seen, he runs a lot. I feel that once I start landing my body shots, he’ll slowdown in the latter rounds. i, like I’ve said, I don’t plan on this fight going the distance.”
Ajtai, oczywiście, isn’t traveling all the way to Kansas to visit Dorothy or the Wizard of Oz, Idzie do wygrania!
