WBA and WBO to add regional titles to Boxcino championship fights this Friday in Corona, Kalifornien

ORANGE, Calif. (Maj 18, 2015) – Denna fredag night at the Omega Products Outdoor Arena, den 2015 Boxcino finals will take place in the heavyweight and jr. middleweight divisions.
The fights will be televised on ESPN Friday Night Fights beginning at 10 PM ET.

Den 2015 Boxcino Tournament is promoted by Banner Promotions.

The stakes just grew even more as two more belts have been added to each final bout.
In the heavyweight final between Andrey Fedosov och Donovan Dennis, the WBA Fedelatin and the WBO Intercontinental titles will be on the line, in addition to the Boxcino 2015 Heavyweight championship.
I Jr. middleweight bout between Brandon Adams och John Thompson, the NABA Interim Super Welterweight title as well as the WBO Intercontinental Jr. Middleweight belts will be contested for, in addition to the Boxcino 2015 Jr. Mellanvikt titel.

Alyson DeRenzis wins Boxcino Bracket Challenge

Philadelphia, PA (Maj 6, 2015)— Banner Promotions is pleased to announce that Alyson DeRenzis has taken first place in the Boxcino Bracket Challenge.
Alyson will take home the grand prize of two ringside tickets to the Boxcino finals that will take place on Maj 22 i Corona, Kalifornien, a full roundtrip for two to the finals, complete with a hotel stay and meals for two, as well as a guest invitation to the pre-fight weigh in and post fight press conference. Alyson will also receive two Boxcino t-shirts.

ORANGE, Calif. (Maj 5, 2015) – Junior mellanvikt Brandon Adams (16-1, 12 Kos) is returning to a familiar situation. After coming up short in last year’s Boxcino finals and suffering the only loss of his career, the Los Angeles-native dropped down one weight class and fought his way back to the 10-round championship fight.

Adams faces the smooth boxing skills of John Thompson (16-1, 5 Kos) av Newark, New Jersey on Friday, Maj 22, från Omega produkter Outdoor Arena i Corona, Calif. i Boxcino 2015 junior middleweight championship.

“I’ve been in Los Angeles for training camp, getting good sparring,” Donovan Dennissa. “Jag know Andrey will be ready, and so will I.”

“I’m glad that I’ve made it into the finals of this great tournament on ESPN,” Andrey Fedosov sa. “Jag‘m training very hard in Los Angeles and I’m confident that I will win the fight.”

“I’m looking forward to the Boxcino finals,” said Artie Pelullo, president of Banner Promotions. “The finals will be terrific with two exciting and compelling fights.”

John Thompson reflects on Boxcino semifinal win and looks forward towards the final on May 22

Newark, NJ (April 21, 2015)— John “Apollo Kidd” Thompson has begun preparations for his Maj 22 Boxcino final bout against Brandon Adams. (17-1, 12 KO: s).
Kampen kommer att ske på Fredag, Maj 22 i Corona, California and will live on ESPNFredag Night Fights.
Thompson is in Virginia, training under Kay Koroma and he is looking to win the prestigious tournament against Thompson in the 10-round bout at the Omega Products International Outdoor Arena in Corona, Kalifornien.
Thompson (16-1, 5 KO: s) is coming off a 8-round split decision over previously undefeated Stanyslav Skorokhod on April 10 i Betlehem, PA.
“I outboxed the guy,” säger Thompson. I focused on what I needed to focus on and that was using my jab. I also focused on not to exchange and bang with him and I did a pretty good job of that.”
“As well as I fought, I do not think that was even my best win.”
Now he looks towards Adams. Adams of Los Angeles has experience in the Boxcino finals as his only loss was to Willie Monroe Jr. in last year’s Middleweight finals.
“I am happy to be in the finals. This is an opportunity that will be the uprising of my career,” continued Thompson.
“Brandon is a brawler. He will have a few weeks to come up with a strategy to beat me.”
Said Thompson’s promoter, Vito Mielnicki of GH3 Promotions, “I believe we are longer, been in tougher and the better boxer. Brandon is a good fighter but I think he is too green. I know he had a brief amateur career and he could be too green for John.”

CARSON, Calif. (April 18, 2015) – Confident and determined, Andrzej “The PolishPrince” Fonfara (27-3, 16 Kos) spoiled the ring return of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (48-2-1, 32 Kos) in resounding fashion Lördag natt, flooring the former middleweight champion one time en route to a one-sided ninth-round TKO in the main event ofShowtime MÄSTERSKAP BOXNING leva på Showtime.

 

Fonfara, of Chicago by way of Radon, Polen, dropped Chavez, of Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexiko, with a wide left hook 50 seconds into the ninth round before a boisterous crowd of 8,636 predominately-Chavez fans at StubHub Center. It was the first time in 52 professional fights that Chavez had hit the canvas from a punch.

 

Upon returning to the corner, Chavez could be heard on the telecast telling trainer Joe Goossen that he had hurt his right leg and could no longer continue. Ögonblick senare, the fight was halted. The busier and more accurate fighter throughout, Fonfara was comfortably ahead on the three judges’ scorecards by scored of 89-80 och 88-81 twice after nine full rounds.

“Chavez said before the fight that he didn’t think I could take his body punches. I think I took them pretty good and passed that test.

In the first half of a SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING doubleheader, undefeated world-ranked super lightweight Amir I (17-0, 14 Kos), of Davie, Fla., genom Albany, N.Y., won a lopsided 10-round decision over Walter “Hammer” Slott.

 

The talented, versatile, Jag har, 24, controlled a fight that featured numerous exchanges especially early on with a left jab and straight right hand.

 

“My combinations were effective the whole night, we stuck to our gameplan and came out victorious,” said Imam. “I want any of the world champions next”.

 

Slott, who saw a nine-fight winning streak come to an end, sa “I thought I won the fight. I didn’t get credit for the punches I threw. The judge who scored it 100-90; bra, that gives me no chance to win here. The cut bothered me in the early rounds, but was not a factor after.”

 

Tidigare Lördag, on SHOWTIME EXTREME, obesegrad Moises “El Chucky” Blommor (23-0, 16 Kos), Guadalajara, Mexiko, captured the WBA Super Bantamweight Interim World Championship with a thrilling 12-round split decision over defending champion Oscar Escandon (24-2 16 Kos), of Tolima, Colombia.

“I did all that I could, everything was in my reach, but I think I broke or fractured my finger,” sa han. “In boxing things happen that are out of your control. Because I hurt my hand, I couldn’t throw punches the way I wanted to with my right hand. I tried to do all I could with it. But I didn’t want to injure it further. I’m OK, but I definitely would love a rematch.”

 

In the SHOWTIME EXTREME co-feature, super weltervikt Omar “El Businessman”Chavez (33-3-1, 22 Kos), of Culiacan, the younger brother of Chavez, Jr. and son of legendary Julio Cesar Sr., won an exciting, hårdnackad, give-and-take eight-round unanimous decision over Richard Gutierrez (28-16-1, 17 Kos), of Arjona, Colombia.

Miguel Cotto (39-4, 32 KO: s) is the reigning WBC and Ring Magazine middleweight world champion and the first native of Puerto Rico to become world champion in four different weight classes. He is the former WBO junior welterweight world champion, the former WBA welterweight world champion, the former WBO welterweight world champion and the former WBA super welterweight world champion. He also represented Puerto Rico in the 2000 OS i Sydney, Australien. Cotto has had 22 world championship fights, compiling a record of 18-4 med 15 knockouts in those bouts. I Puerto Rico, he is hailed as a national hero and the successor of Felix Trinidad as the island’s most revered boxer. Cotto is one of the biggest gate attractions in boxing and one of the largest pay-per-view draws among active fighters. Brandon Adams och John Thompson vann semifinal matcher i Boxcino 2015 Jr. Mellanviktsturnering medan Andrey Fedosov och Donovan Dennis gjorde imponerande stoppsegrar i Heavyweight-turneringen, när alla fyra slog sina biljetter till finalen i matcher som ägde rum det förflutna Fredag på Sands Casino Resort Betlehem.

Brandon Adams landar uppercut
Adams tog ut en långvarig vän Vito Gasparyan i omgång sju av deras planerade 8-omgång.
Adams fungerade mycket bra på insidan när han landade några solida skott i huvudet och landade snyggt i kroppen. Gasparyan hängde tufft mot sin engångs-sparringpartner men mängden solida slag började visa på Gasparyan och matchen stoppades 35 sekunder in i sjunde omgången med ett svullet vänster öra.

“Jag var tvungen att boxa honom när han svängde vild. Jag utboxade honom. Han svängde bara och kastade inga raka skott,” säger Thompson.
Dennis får utslagsslaget
Donovan Dennis

I öppnings matchen, Curtis Morton upprörd Greg Jackson via ett enhälligt beslut i 6 omgångar i en weltervikt.
Morton tappade Jackson i omgång fem och vann med poäng på 60-53 två gånger och 58-55.
Morton, 146 kg Myrtle Beach, SC är nu 3-4-2. Jackson, 147 pund av Philadelphia faller till 5-2-1.
Ricky Nuno gjorde en framgångsrik pro-debut med ett 4-omgång enhälligt beslut över Pat Kehoe (1-2) i en jr. mellanvikt bout.

BROOKLYN (April 12, 2015) – Premier Boxning Champions på NBC återvände med två spännande matcher Lördag natt som Danny “Swift” Garcia (30-0, 17 Kos) besegrade Lamont Peterson (33-3-1, 17 Kos) genom majoritetsbeslut och “Irländsk” Andy Lee (34-2-1, 24 Kos) och Peter “Kid Choklad” Quillin (31-0-1, 22 Kos) kämpade till en splittring oavgjort på Barclays Center.

 

Kvällens andra main event såg obesegrade Garcia stjälken blixten snabb Peterson runt ringen medan konsekvent attackerar Petersons kropp. Peterson flyttade bra i första halvan av kampen, men började inte engagera offensivt tills de senare omgångarna.

 

De två utbytte slag under en vild tolfte omgången som rörde skara 12,300 på Barclays Center i en frenesi. Domarna stämmer slutade på 115-113 för Garcia två gånger och en poäng 114-114.

I den första Main Event, Quillin gjorde en enorm knockdown i den första omgången och följde upp genom att sätta Lee på duken i omgång tre. Lee gjort justeringar som kampen gick och började rutan Quillin effektivt, även sätta ner honom i den sjunde omgången.

 

Lee och Quillin landade nästan lika stor andel av slag med Lee ansluter på 38 procent och Quillin på 39 procent. En domare gjorde matchen 113-112 Lee med en annan scoring matchen 113-112 för Quillin och slut hade en poäng 113-113.

 

“Det finns en anledning till varför domare är domare. De ser det deras sätt. Jag respekterar beslutet,” Said Quillin.

Philadelphia (April 8, 2015)-–Denna fredag natt på Sands Casino Resort Betlehem, den Boxcino 2015 semifinals will take place in both the heavyweight and jr. middleweight divisions. All eight fighters have been training hard for this great opportunity that will be broadcasted live on ESPN Friday Night Fights beginning at 9 PM ET.
All Boxcino bouts are scheduled for eight rounds.

26 year old “The Genius” Jamie Speight has a wish come true on 16th Maj 2015 when he co-headlines the massive Goodwin Boxing “Master Class” bill at York Hall defending his Southern Area Featherweight title against Ian Bailey.

 

“I am over the moon at signing with Steve Goodwin” said Jamie “With everything he has done for me so far I could not be happier. This is the first time in years I have not had to go on the road and be the away fighter and have waited to be promoted as the home fighter for so long”.

 

Speight has had an up and down career but being sent as the away fighter meant that to Speight he never had the rub of the green or the advantage given to other fighters. Only two years ago Speight took Josh Warrington the distance in Warrington’s back yard and then subsequently lost a contentious decision to Lewis Pettitt once again in the opponent’s corner.

 

Maj 2014 and Speight once again was in the opponents corner when he stopped Craig Whyatt to win this belt he is now defending but now the time has come for Speight to enjoy home advantage.

 

“I just want a fair crack of the whip and with Steve now in control of my career I know I will get that. I need to win this title as the next day I am flying with the Goodwin team to Turkey for a training camp and that needs to be a celebration.” Speight added “My aim is the British title at Featherweight and provided I keep winning Steve has promised he will deliver that to me.”

 

“This is a tough fight. Ian Bailey does not receive the credit he deserves. Like myself Ian has taken short notice fights and yet stops people with winning records. We have given him 2 months notice so he can prepare as well as myself and may the best man win.”

 

The Speight v Bailey clash is one of four 50/50 intriguing Southern Area title fights on the bill with tre masters titles as well making this one of the best non TV shows seen in London for a long time.

 

Adam Dingsdale defends his Southern Area Lightweight title against Prizefighter finalist Michael “Chunky” Devine.

 

Philip “Quicksilver” Bowes (9-1) challenges for the Light-Welterweight version against the unbeaten former Prizefighter Champion Johnny Coyle whilst Johnny Garton makes his second defence of the Welterweight version against former English title challenger Martin Welsh.

 

The charismatic Danny Connor competes for the International Masters Lightweight title whilst Hampshire’s “Dangerous” Danny Goode fights for the Masters Super Middleweight Title. Adam Salman completes the trio of Masters title bouts when he competes for the Light Welterweight version.

 

Two of Ricky Hatton’s “Upton Clan” Paul and Anthony continue their rise to the top with 6 round contests.

 

The exciting Light Middleweight Joey Vaughan (1-0) has his first contest since signing with the Goodwin’s whilst the show sees the eagerly awaited debuts of Andrew Joicey (Weltervikt) and Mwenya Chisanga (Light-Welterweight).
