WBA and WBO to add regional titles to Boxcino championship fights this Friday in Corona, California

ORANGE, Calif. (Mai 18, 2015) – Acest vineri night at the Omega Products Outdoor Arena, the 2015 Boxcino finals will take place in the heavyweight and jr. middleweight divisions.
The fights will be televised on ESPN Friday Night Fights beginning at 10 PM ET.

The 2015 Boxcino Tournament is promoted by Banner Promotions.

Vineri show is promoted by Thompson Boxing and Banner Promotions.
The stakes just grew even more as two more belts have been added to each final bout.
In the heavyweight final between Andrey Fedosov și Donovan Dennis, the WBA Fedelatin and the WBO Intercontinental titles will be on the line, in addition to the Boxcino 2015 Heavyweight championship.

Alyson DeRenzis wins Boxcino Bracket Challenge

Philadelphia, PA (Mai 6, 2015)— Banner Promotions is pleased to announce that Alyson DeRenzis has taken first place in the Boxcino Bracket Challenge.
Alyson will take home the grand prize of two ringside tickets to the Boxcino finals that will take place on Mai 22 în Corona, California, a full roundtrip for two to the finals, complete with a hotel stay and meals for two, as well as a guest invitation to the pre-fight weigh in and post fight press conference. Alyson will also receive two Boxcino t-shirts.

ORANGE, Calif. (Mai 5, 2015) – Mijlocie Junior Brandon Adams (16-1, 12 KO) is returning to a familiar situation. After coming up short in last year’s Boxcino finals and suffering the only loss of his career, the Los Angeles-native dropped down one weight class and fought his way back to the 10-round championship fight.

“I’m glad that I’ve made it into the finals of this great tournament on ESPN,” Andrey Fedosov a spus. “Eu‘m training very hard in Los Angeles and I’m confident that I will win the fight.”

John Thompson reflects on Boxcino semifinal win and looks forward towards the final on May 22

Newark, NJ (Aprilie 21, 2015)— Ioan “Apollo Kidd” Thompson has begun preparations for his Mai 22 Boxcino final bout against Brandon Adams. (17-1, 12 Lui KO).

“I am happy to be in the finals. This is an opportunity that will be the uprising of my career,” continued Thompson.
“Brandon is a brawler. He will have a few weeks to come up with a strategy to beat me.”
Said Thompson’s promoter, Vito Mielnicki of GH3 Promotions, “I believe we are longer, been in tougher and the better boxer. Brandon is a good fighter but I think he is too green. I know he had a brief amateur career and he could be too green for John.”

CARSON, Calif. Said Chavez, the son of legendary Mexican icon, Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. in the ring afterward and before he was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure, “Poate 170,172 pounds is too big for me, maybe I’ll go back down. I’m not sure what my future holds. It was a very tough fight. But I congratulate Andrzej.”

 

Goossen told reporters afterward that he had “stopped the fight. It was my decision. I didn’t like what I saw. ”

 

In the first half of a SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING doubleheader, undefeated world-ranked super lightweight Amir I (17-0, 14 KO), of Davie, Fla., prin Albany, N.Y., won a lopsided 10-round decision over Walter “Hammer” Castel.

 

The talented, versatile, Am, 24, controlled a fight that featured numerous exchanges especially early on with a left jab and straight right hand.

 

“My combinations were effective the whole night, we stuck to our gameplan and came out victorious,” said Imam. “I want any of the world champions next”.

In the SHOWTIME EXTREME co-feature, super-semimijlocie Omar “El Businessman”Chavez (33-3-1, 22 KO), of Culiacan, the younger brother of Chavez, Jr. and son of legendary Julio Cesar Sr., won an exciting, hard-au luptat, give-and-take eight-round unanimous decision over Richard Gutierrez (28-16-1, 17 KO), of Arjona, Columbia.

He is the former WBO junior welterweight world champion, the former WBA welterweight world champion, the former WBO welterweight world champion and the former WBA super welterweight world champion. Brandon Adams și John Thompson won semifinal bouts in the Boxcino 2015 Jr. Middleweight Tournament while Andrey Fedosov și Donovan Dennis scored impressive stoppage victories in the Heavyweight tournament, as all four punched their tickets to the finals in bouts that took place this past Vineri la Sands Casino Resort Betleem.
The bouts were televised live on ESPN Vineri Lupte de noapte.

The finals of both weight classes will take place on Vineri, Mai 22 at the Omega Products International Outdoor Arena in Corona, California and will be aired live on ESPN Vineri Lupte de noapte.
Brandon Adams lands the uppercut
Adams took out longtime friend Vito Gasparyan in round seven of their scheduled 8-round bout.
Adams worked very well on the inside as he landed some solid shots to the head and landed to the body nicely. Gasparyan hung tough against his one-time sparring partner but the amount of solid punches began to show on Gasparyan and the bout was stopped 35 seconds into round seven with a badly swollen left ear.
Adams, 155 1/2 lbs of Los Angeles moves onto the finals with a record of 17-1 cu 12 knockout. Gasparyan, 154 lbs of Burbank, CA este acum 15-4-5. Adams will not meet John Thompson.
John Thompson won an 8-round split decision over previously undefeated Stanyslav Skorokhod.
Thompson lands the right hand
Thompson boxed well early as he used his jab to set up three and four punch combinations, while Skorokhod landed some good power shots. Skorokhod was cut around his right eye in round two while Thompson suffered a cut in the same area in round four.
Thompson did well when the fight was in the center of the ring. Skorokhod landed several flush punches but it wasn’t enough as the judges preferred the boxing of Thompson to the tune of 78-74 și 77-75 while Skorokhod won a card 78-74.
Thompson, 154 3/4 lbs Newark, NJ is now 16-1. Skorokhod, 153 3/4 lbs of Los Angeles via Ukraine is now 9-1.

scored a highlight reel 2nd round stoppage over 6’7″ Razvan Cojnau.
Dennis landed a thudding straight left that landed flush on the chin of Cojanu and the big man fell flat on the canvas and the bout was stopped 59 seconds into round two.
“I used my speed, quick feet and combinations,” a spus Dennis. “I saw an opening in the first round and then in the second I came with an overhand left that landed right on the button and he crumbled to the canvas.”
The punch was so devastating that it was ESPN Sports Center top play of the night.
On fighting Andrey Fedosov in the finals, “It is going to be a tough fight and I will have to work harder.”
Dennis, 224 1/4 lbs de Davenport, IA is now 12-1 cu 10 knockout. Cojanu, 255 1/2 lbs of Los Angeles via Romania is now 13-2.

Just seconds into the bout, Thomas landed a straight left and sent Fedosov to the canvas. Fedosov came back in round three and landed a ripping combination that led to Thomas to a knee and and he did not beat referee Gary Rosado’s count at 1:01 de turul trei.

BROOKLYN (Aprilie 12, 2015) – Premier box Campionilor pe NBC întors cu două crize interesante Sâmbătă noapte ca Danny “Rapid” Garcia (30-0, 17 KO) învins Lamont Peterson (33-3-1, 17 KO) prin decizie majoritară și “Irlandez” Andy Lee (34-2-1, 24 KO) și Peter “Ciocolata Kid” Quillin (31-0-1, 22 KO) luptat pentru o remiză crapat la Barclays Center.

 

Al doilea eveniment principal al serii a văzut neînvinsă Garcia maneta fulgerul rapid Peterson jurul inelului în timp ce ataca in mod constant corpul lui Peterson. Peterson mutat bine în prima jumătate a luptei, dar nu a început angajarea ofensiv până runde ulterioare.

Speight delighted to secure Home Advantage

26 year old “The Genius” Jamie Speight has a wish come true on 16lea Mai 2015 when he co-headlines the massive Goodwin Boxing “Master Class” bill at York Hall defending his Southern Area Featherweight title against Ian Bailey.

 

“I am over the moon at signing with Steve Goodwin” said Jamie “With everything he has done for me so far I could not be happier. This is the first time in years I have not had to go on the road and be the away fighter and have waited to be promoted as the home fighter for so long”.

 

Speight has had an up and down career but being sent as the away fighter meant that to Speight he never had the rub of the green or the advantage given to other fighters. Only two years ago Speight took Josh Warrington the distance in Warrington’s back yard and then subsequently lost a contentious decision to Lewis Pettitt once again in the opponent’s corner.

 

Mai 2014 and Speight once again was in the opponents corner when he stopped Craig Whyatt to win this belt he is now defending but now the time has come for Speight to enjoy home advantage.

 

“I just want a fair crack of the whip and with Steve now in control of my career I know I will get that. I need to win this title as the next day I am flying with the Goodwin team to Turkey for a training camp and that needs to be a celebration.” Speight added “My aim is the British title at Featherweight and provided I keep winning Steve has promised he will deliver that to me.”

 

“This is a tough fight. Ian Bailey does not receive the credit he deserves. Like myself Ian has taken short notice fights and yet stops people with winning records. We have given him 2 months notice so he can prepare as well as myself and may the best man win.”

 

The Speight v Bailey clash is one of four 50/50 intriguing Southern Area title fights on the bill with trei masters titles as well making this one of the best non TV shows seen in London for a long time.

 

Adam Dingsdale defends his Southern Area Lightweight title against Prizefighter finalist Michael “Chunky” Devine.

 

Philip “Quicksilver” Bowes (9-1) challenges for the Light-Welterweight version against the unbeaten former Prizefighter Champion Johnny Coyle whilst Johnny Garton makes his second defence of the Welterweight version against former English title challenger Martin Welsh.

 

The charismatic Danny Connor competes for the International Masters Lightweight title whilst Hampshire’s “Dangerous” Danny Goode fights for the Masters Super Middleweight Title. Adam Salman completes the trio of Masters title bouts when he competes for the Light Welterweight version.
