John Thompson reflects on Boxcino semifinal win and looks forward towards the final on May 22

Newark, NJ (April 21, 2015)— John “Apollo Kidd” Thompson has begun preparations for his Ka 22 Boxcino final bout against Brandon Adams. (17-1, 12 Ko si).

“Brandon is a brawler. He will have a few weeks to come up with a strategy to beat me.”

CARSON, Calif. (April 18, 2015) – Confident and determined, Andrzej “The PolishPrince” Fonfara (27-3, 16 Kos) spoiled the ring return of Julio Cesar Chavez Obere. I’m OK, but I definitely would love a rematch.”

Middleweight Tournament while Andrey Fedosov na Donovan Dennis scored impressive stoppage victories in the Heavyweight tournament, as all four punched their tickets to the finals in bouts that took place this past Friday na ájá Casino Resort Bethlehem.

Adams worked very well on the inside as he landed some solid shots to the head and landed to the body nicely. Gasparyan hung tough against his one-time sparring partner but the amount of solid punches began to show on Gasparyan and the bout was stopped 35 seconds into round seven with a badly swollen left ear.
Adams, 155 1/2 lbs of Los Angeles moves onto the finals with a record of 17-1 na 12 knockouts. Gasparyan, 154 lbs of Burbank, Ca bụ ugbu a 15-4-5. Adams will not meet John Thompson.
John Thompson won an 8-round split decision over previously undefeated Stanyslav Skorokhod.
Thompson lands the right hand
Thompson boxed well early as he used his jab to set up three and four punch combinations, while Skorokhod landed some good power shots. Skorokhod was cut around his right eye in round two while Thompson suffered a cut in the same area in round four.
Thompson did well when the fight was in the center of the ring. Skorokhod landed several flush punches but it wasn’t enough as the judges preferred the boxing of Thompson to the tune of 78-74 na 77-75 while Skorokhod won a card 78-74.
Thompson, 154 3/4 lbs nke Newark, NJ is now 16-1. Skorokhod, 153 3/4 lbs of Los Angeles via Ukraine is now 9-1.
“I had to box him as he was swinging wild. I outboxed him. He was just swinging and not throwing any straight shots,” Kwurula Thompson.
Dennis lands the knockout blow

scored a highlight reel 2nd round stoppage over 6’7″ Razvan Cojnau.
Dennis landed a thudding straight left that landed flush on the chin of Cojanu and the big man fell flat on the canvas and the bout was stopped 59 seconds into round two.
“I used my speed, quick feet and combinations,” said Dennis. “I saw an opening in the first round and then in the second I came with an overhand left that landed right on the button and he crumbled to the canvas.”
The punch was so devastating that it was ESPN Sports Center top play of the night.
On fighting Andrey Fedosov in the finals, “It is going to be a tough fight and I will have to work harder.”

Brooklyn (April 12, 2015) – Premier Boxing agbachitere na NBC returned with two exciting bouts Saturday night as Danny “Ngwa” Garcia (30-0, 17 Kos) meriri Lamont Peterson (33-3-1, 17 Kos) by majority decision and “Irish” Andy Lee (34-2-1, 24 Kos) na Peter “Eyen Chocolate” Quillin (31-0-1, 22 Kos) fought to a split draw at Barclays Center.

 

The evening’s second main event saw the undefeated Garcia stalk the lightning quick Peterson around the ring while consistently attacking Peterson’s body. Peterson moved well in the first half of the fight, but did not begin engaging offensively until the later rounds.

 

The two exchanged blows throughout a raucous twelfth round that stirred the crowd of 12,300 at Barclays Center into a frenzy. The judges tallies ended at 115-113 for Garcia twice and one score of 114-114.

 

“M na-eche oké. I prepared for a war. He was moving a lot. I thought it was close, not going to lie,” Kwurula Garcia. “It was definitely close the whole way through. I did enough to win and I’m happy with my performance.

“I did my part. I’m not calling it a robbery but it was a good fight,” Kwurula Peterson. “I don’t expect an easy journey for me to get where I’m going. M na-eche oké. That’s probably the least contact I’ve ever had in a fight.”

 

In the first main event, Quillin scored a huge knockdown in the first round and followed it up by putting Lee on the canvas in round three. Lee made adjustments as the fight went on and began to box Quillin effectively, even putting him down in the seventh round.

 

Lee and Quillin landed almost the same percentage of punches with Lee connecting on 38 percent and Quillin on 39 percent. One judge scored the bout 113-112 for Lee with another scoring the bout 113-112 for Quillin and the final had a score of 113-113.

 

“There’s a reason why judges are judges. They see it their way. I respect the decision,” Kwurula Quillin.

 

[On being knocked down] “There’s a first time for everything. I’m very thankful that I was able to get back up and keep fighting. I took a year off and I was able to go 12-rounds and I could have kept going.”

26 year old “The Genius” Jamie Speight has a wish come true on 16nke Ka 2015 when he co-headlines the massive Goodwin Boxing “Master Class” bill at York Hall defending his Southern Area Featherweight title against Ian Bailey.

 

“I am over the moon at signing with Steve Goodwin” said Jamie “With everything he has done for me so far I could not be happier. This is the first time in years I have not had to go on the road and be the away fighter and have waited to be promoted as the home fighter for so long”.

 

Speight has had an up and down career but being sent as the away fighter meant that to Speight he never had the rub of the green or the advantage given to other fighters.
