This week’s fight news unlimited combat sports show is a great mix of boxing and mixed martial arts. Tom, Tony and Rich cover all the action from last weekend and marvel at the master of his craft that is Vasyl Lomachenko. We discuss Chuck Liddell coming out of retirement with Golden Boy MMA, and Tito Ortiz taking the debate to be his first opponent. We also have a bit of a debate about Raquel Pennington telling her corner she wanted to be done after the fourth round against Amanda Nunes. Her coaches pep talked her into continuing, which led to more blood loss and facial damage from a clearly more hyped up and fresh opponent. Daarnaast, Raquel Pennington takes on Amanda Nunes at UFC 224, and Pennington will likely have to win by knockout to get the belt in the Brazilian backyard of Nunes. We also chat about the week’s major news stories in combat sports, namely Chuck Liddell wanting a rematch with Tito Ortiz and Oscar De La Hoya promising to promote the fight in a new MMA venture for the boxing legend and promotional kingpin. Onlangs, after our broadcast Thursday night, Tito and Chuck moved much closer to that trilogy fight with Tito announcing he is coming out of retirement for the bout. MICHAEL MCDONALD UITDAGT VOORMAL BANTAMWEIGHT WERELDKAMPIOEN EDUARDO DANTAS IN CO-MAIN EVENT

LOS ANGELES - Op vrijdag, Juli 13, Julia Budd (11-2) zal haar wereldtitel in het vedergewicht verdedigen tegen de Braziliaanse jiujitsu-aas Talita Nogueira (7-0), in het main event van Bellator 202 bij WinStar World Casino en Resort. Bovendien, de co-headliner zal voormalig Bellator-wereldkampioen zijn Eduardo Dantas (20-5) nemen Michael McDonald (18-4) in een bantamgewicht-clash van topkandidaten.

 

Bellator 202: Budd vs.. Julia Budd, de enige vechter die bovenaan de vedergewichtdivisie van Bellator voor dames zit, heeft Germaine de Randamie verslagen, Arlene Blencowe en Marloes Coenen onder andere namen in de loop van haar achtjarige mixed martial arts-carrière. "The Jewel" is ook de enige vrouw die Gina Carano versloeg in de Muay-Thai-competitie. Nu, de in Canada geboren en voormalige STRIKEFORCE-concurrent, keert terug naar Oklahoma, waar ze haar tweede titelverdediging maakt sinds ze vorig jaar de titel won bij Bellator 174.

 

 

 

Talita Nogueira was al tot wereldkampioen jiu-jitsu gekroond voordat ze haar hand testte in MMA. "Treta" bleef ongeslagen in zes MMA-wedstrijden in haar geboortestad Sao Paulo, Brazilië tussen 2009 en 2013, voordat hij tekent om te concurreren met Bellator. Oorspronkelijk gepland om Budd te bevechten bij Bellator 133, Nogueira liep een blessure op die haar dwong zich terug te trekken uit de wedstrijd. Haar langverwachte promotiedebuut vond uiteindelijk plaats op Bellator 182, waar de 32-jarige een inzending in de eerste ronde scoorde over Amanda Bell. De door Demain Maia getrainde jager krijgt nu een tweede kans om te strijden tegen Budd, en deze keer, het wereldkampioenschap staat op het spel.

 

 

 

Voormalig tweevoudig wereldkampioen Eduardo "Dudu" Dantas heeft zichzelf bewezen als een eeuwige top-10 bantamgewichtvechter met indrukwekkende prestaties over Joe Warren, Marcos Galvao (x2), Wilson Reis en Zach Makovsky. De Bellator Season 5 toernooikampioen heeft een indrukwekkende 10-2 record met Bellator tijdens zijn zevenjarige ambtstermijn met de promotie. De 29-jarige traint naast Jose Aldo bij het beroemde Nova Uniao-team in zijn geboortestad Rio de Janeiro en is op zoek naar nog een kans op Bellator-goud.

 

 

 

Professioneel vechten sinds de leeftijd van 16, McDonald is een steunpilaar geweest in de bantamgewicht-ranglijst voor het grootste deel van 11 jaar. De opwindende Braziliaanse jiu-jitsu zwarte band heeft een verbazingwekkende eindscore behaald, hij bereikte slechts drie keer de scorekaarten van de jury in zijn 22 gevechten. "Mayday" maakte zijn Bellator-debuut in 2017, een overwinning scoren Peter Ligier, ondanks zijn hand breken vroeg in de strijd. Nu zijn hand volledig is genezen, de voormalige uitdager van de wereldtitel uit Modesto, Calif. zal kijken om Dantas July te verslaan 13 op Paramount Network.
