FIGHTERS HOPE TO SETTLE THEIR DIFFERENCES IN THE CAGE AT NEF 22

Lewiston, Maine (Mas 4, 2016) - New England Goumen (Nef), Nimewo-yon sèl batay pwomosyon rejyonal Amerik la, pral kenbe evènman pwochen li yo, “Nef 22: Tout wout mennen isit la” sou Samdi, Avril 23, 2016 nan Androscoggin Bank Colisée nan nan Lewiston, Maine. The fight card will feature a mix of mixed-martial-arts (Mma) and professional boxing bouts. Earlier today, NEF announced the addition of a professional lightweight contest to the MMA portion of the “nef 22” kat batay. Matt “Ken poupe” Denning (2-1) ap rankontre Josh “Hook OnHarvey (0-0) nan yon pwa batay nan 150-liv.

Lewiston’s Matt Denning is coming off the first loss of his professional career this past November against Jon Lemke (5-4). Prior to that defeat, Denning was riding a four-fight win streak, all four of those wins coming by way of submission. He is a member of Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ). Denning acknowledges personal issues have existed in the past between he and Harvey, culminating in a cageside confrontation between the two athletes at the close of “Nef XV” in the fall of 2014.

I’m honored to have been asked specifically for this fight,” di Denning. “Josh is the 155 ammy champ and is an amazing fighter. I’m excited to watch him continue his career as a pro and move up to the top of the professional rankings. We had some personal issues between the two of us because of a poor decision I made, and I hope with us fighting it will clear the air and I’ll be able to cross train with him and Young’s MMA. We gotta give the fans what they want and this is what they wanted. I look forward to seeing everyone April 23rd.

The bout will indeed be the professional debut for Harvey after an amateur career in which he went 5-1. He is the reigning NEF MMA Amateur Lightweight Champion, a title which he will now vacate as a professional. Harvey capped off his amateur stint with a highlight reel knockout over Ryan Dibartolomeo (4-4), a victory that solidified his position as the northeast region’s top-ranked amateur lightweight. Harvey is a member of Young’s MMA in Bangor, Maine. He recently signed a long-term NEF developmental deal.

I’m feeling blessed to be a signed professional cage fighter,” Di Harvey. “I’m one step closer to my goal and April 23rd I’ll take another. I’ve wanted a chance to fight ‘Ken Dollever since I met himhe is just one of those guys. I’m thankful for the opportunity.

One thing is very clear in this matchup – Josh and Matt don’t like each other,” stated NEF matchmaker and co-owner Matt Peterson. “There is some deep, pent-up frustration that has been percolating between these two for a long timeand on April 23rd, the cork comes out. It’s going to be spectacular.

GLOVER AND WILLIAMS TO FACE OFF FOR NEF GOLD

Lewiston, Maine (Fevriye 1, 2016) - New England Goumen (Nef), Nimewo-yon sèl batay pwomosyon rejyonal Amerik la, pral kenbe evènman pwochen li yo, "nèf 21: THE IMMORTALS” this Samdi, Fevriye 6, 2016 nan Androscoggin Bank Colisee la nan Lewiston, Maine. The fight card is scheduled to feature both mixed martial arts (Mma) and professional boxing bouts. Earlier today, the promotion announced the addition of an amateur light heavyweight championship bout to the card. Ryan Glover (2-1) will face Mike Williams (1-0) for the inaugural NEF amateur 205-pound title.

Prior to competing in MMA, Ryan Glover was a standout dual sport athlete at Mountain Valley High School in Rumford, Maine. A state champion wrestler, Glover made his biggest mark on the football field where he was named the “Football Player of the Year” by the Lewiston Sun Journal in 2010.

Ane pase a, Glover faced Billy “Bigfoot” Leahy (3-1) for the NEF amateur heavyweight championship. Glover lost a close decision in an exciting, hard-hitting physical contest. Koulye a,, faster and more agile at a lower weight, Glover has his sights set on finally achieving NEF gold.

“The weight cut has not been fun, but has gone easier than expected,” stated Glover, when asked about his cut down to 205-pounds. “I feel a lot better as I approach 205 and I think I’ll like fighting at this weight. It’s going to be bittersweet to hold the belt at 205. I lost a close slugfest last June simply because I didn’t stick to our game plan. I dropped the ball that night and you can rest assured that’s not going to happen again. I hope Williams has been training as hard as I have, paske, if so, it’s going to be a fight that no one wants to miss. I’ll see you February 6th and don’t be late—this is a show worth traveling 1000 miles for.”

Mike Williams took a collective gasp out of the Androscoggin Bank Colisee when he came out guns blazing in his debut at “NEF XX: A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE” last November. Williams, a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) blue belt and member of Central Maine Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (CMBJJ) nan Auburn, blasted fellow newcomer Joe Krech (0-1) out of the gate before securing a fight-ending armbar in a spectacular 26-seconds into the first round. The dizzying debut was enough to earn the impressive young Williams a shot at NEF gold.

“This fight is just another step and he’s in the way,” stated Williams flatly when asked for comment.

“This is another Easter egg of a fight on a star-studded card that is destined to deliver for the whole night,"Deklare nef ko-pwopriyetè ak promoteur Matt Peterson. “When I look at this fight and the skill sets that both Ryan and Mike bring to the cage, I get goose bumps. Both are athletic, agresif, young and hungry guys that want to turn heads when they compete—and will stop at nothing to win. Based on what I’ve witnessed in their fights so far, I don’t see an ounce of quit in either fighter. I can’t wait to watch the way this one goes down on Saturday.”

Dènyèman, Lachance ak koekipyèr Norman Fox (4-2) purchased the MMA Athletix gym from Cowette after Cowette decided to redirect his focus to his roofing business. When the challenges of small business ownership reared its head, Lachance yon lòt fwa ankò pèmèt lafwa li gid l '.

“Achte jimnastik la te yon moman gwo pou tou de Norman ak tèt mwen,” deklare Lachance. “Nou te gen yo chita retounen lakay yo epi reyèlman evalye sa nou te vle soti nan karyè nou an, and also out of our business. We quickly realized that with full time jobs, nou pa gen tan yo dwe antrenè, fòmatè, fighters and business owners and still expect to succeed. We prayed on it and God sent us the perfect team of coaches and trainers, ansanm ak yon gwoup nouvo sou konbatan leve, li vini.

“Mma te deja chanje lavi m 'nan plizyè fason. Mwen atann mwen yo pran l 'nan tèt la, kòm yon pwopriyetè biznis ak kòm yon avyon de gè. Bondye te ban m 'opòtinite pou yo viv rèv mwen an, jou apre jou.”
