LOWELL, Në masë. (Shkurt 11, 2017) – Central England New (Greater Lowell) division champions in the open and novice divisions were crowned last night in the final round of the 71st annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium. Fans braved the frigid cold weather to support the amateur boxers.
Winners will advance to the semifinals of the New England Tournament of Champions, also held at Lowell Auditorium, fillimi next Thursday night with novice division. See the remaining 2017 schedule of events below as well as last night’s complete results.
Babson Park (MA) light welterweight Jesus Ablan (Nonantum Boxing) and Tyngsboro (MA) light welterweight Nathan Balakin (Lowell West End), përkatësisht, were named Outstanding Boxer of the open and novice divisions.

LOWELL, Në masë. (Shkurt 3, 2017) – Fourteen exciting matches were held last night in the semifinals round of the 71st annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, Central England New (Greater Lowell) ndarje, at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
The open and novice championship finals will be held next Thursday natë (Shkurt. 9) at Lowell Memorial Auditorium with men’s and women’s matches. See the remaining 2017 schedule of events below as well as last night’s complete results.
Last night’s action included nine novice division semifinals matches, eight men’s and one women’s, as well as four open men’s matches. Two of the open matches featured final competitions (not semifinals like the others) as Boston light heavyweight Taylor Mears, representing The Ring gym, stopped Nahua’s (NH) John Xifaris në raundin e dytë, and North Chelmsford lightweight Brandon Higgins edged Dorchester’s Jonathan Depina on points, 3-2.
Gloucester’s Gedney brothers, middleweights Adrien dhe Henry, both won last night, shutting out their opponents (5-0), përkatësisht, James Marino, i Medford, dhe Furcy Ferreras, of Peabody. The Gedneys will not fight each other next in next Thursday’schampionship final of the novice super middleweight division. Arguably the most action-packed match last night was between lightweights Jeremiah Perez, of Lowell, dhe Edwin Rozon, of Haverhill, in the open division. Perez won on points, 5-0, but the game Rozon kept firing despite being dropped in the second round.

From the discipline, endurance and heart that goes into gloving up, boxing has garnered spectator respect and interest since the Ancient Greeks believed it to be a sport enjoyed by the Gods on Olympus. From Olympian bouts to professional prize fights, boxing is a spectator sport appreciated by millions globally.
This is White Collar/Master Boxing with Open, Novice and Master boxers. Three rounds of two-minutes each. Amateur boxing rules apply.

LOWELL, Në masë. (Janar 27, 2017) – The red-hot action continued in last night’s quarterfinals round of the 71st annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship of the Central New England (Greater Lowell) division as men’s and women’s open and novice matches were held in front of another great and exceedingly loud crowd at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Judges were very busy as all 10 exciting bouts, including a Junior Olympic match and two non-tournament bouts, went the complete distance. Individual standouts included a pair of open division boxers, peshë e lehtë Michael Fontanez, of Nashua (N.H.), and Methuen (MA) mesme Yarmarco Guzman. A representative of Nashua, PAL, Fontanez is a slick, hard hitting southpaw who shutout, 5-0, a very tough Kenny Larson, of Salem (MA). Guzman, boxing out of Canal Street Gym, looked like a veteran boxer on his way to a 5-0 shutout win over Lowell’s Julien Baptiste.

All Female Boxing Clinic and Show at Gleason’s Gym

Gleason’s Gym will host the seventh Annual All Female Boxing Clinic on Prill 13, 14 dhe 15, 2017.
There will be two days of boxing basics followed by a sanctioned all female boxing show.
The training will be handled by Gleason’s top female trainers and our female World Champions.
The amateur show will be sanctioned by USABoxingmetro. You will need a book to fight.

LOWELL, Në masë. (Janar 21, 2017) – The preliminary round of the 71st annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship concluded last night with 11 exciting Central New England (Greater Lowell) men’s novice matches at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.

“We had our second straight awesome show,” New England Golden Gloves Executive Director Bobby Russo tha. “There was another great crowd of enthusiastic fans who loved the non-stop action. We switch to E enjte night for this coming week’s quarterfinal round and continue every E enjte night through February until we go E mërkurë dhe E enjte (Det. 1 & 2) for the semifinals and final (open class) of the New England Tournament of Champions.”
