Lowell, Mass. (Február 11, 2017) – Central New England (nagyobb Lowell) division champions in the open and novice divisions were crowned last night in the final round of the 71st annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium. Fans braved the frigid cold weather to support the amateur boxers.

Lowell, Mass. (Február 3, 2017) – Fourteen exciting matches were held last night in the semifinals round of the 71st annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, Central New England (nagyobb Lowell) osztás, at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
The open and novice championship finals will be held next Thursday éjszaka (Február. 9) at Lowell Memorial Auditorium with men’s and women’s matches. See the remaining 2017 menetrend az események alatti, valamint az előző esti teljes eredmények.
Last night’s action included nine novice division semifinals matches, eight men’s and one women’s, as well as four open men’s matches. Two of the open matches featured final competitions (not semifinals like the others) as Boston light heavyweight Taylor Mears, representing The Ring gym, stopped Nahua’s (NH) John Xifaris a második fordulóban, and North Chelmsford lightweight Brandon Higgins edged Dorchester’s Jonathan Depina on points, 3-2.
Gloucester’s Gedney brothers, középsúly Adrien és Henry, both won last night, shutting out their opponents (5-0), illetőleg, James Marino, Medford, és Furcy Ferreras, of Peabody. This is White Collar/Master Boxing with Open, Novice and Master boxers. Three rounds of two-minutes each. Amateur boxing rules apply.

Lowell, Mass. (Január 27, 2017) – The red-hot action continued in last night’s quarterfinals round of the 71st annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship of the Central New England (nagyobb Lowell) division as men’s and women’s open and novice matches were held in front of another great and exceedingly loud crowd at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Judges were very busy as all 10 exciting bouts, including a Junior Olympic match and two non-tournament bouts, went the complete distance. Individual standouts included a pair of open division boxers, váltósúlyú Michael Fontanez, of Nashua (N.H.), and Methuen (MA) középsúlyú Yarmarco Guzman. A representative of Nashua, PAL, Fontanez is a slick, hard hitting southpaw who shutout, 5-0, a very tough Kenny Larson, of Salem (MA). Guzman, boxing out of Canal Street Gym, looked like a veteran boxer on his way to a 5-0 shutout win over Lowell’s Julien Baptiste.

All Female Boxing Clinic and Show at Gleason’s Gym

Gleason’s Gym will host the seventh Annual All Female Boxing Clinic on Április 13, 14 és 15, 2017.
There will be two days of boxing basics followed by a sanctioned all female boxing show.
The training will be handled by Gleason’s top female trainers and our female World Champions.
The amateur show will be sanctioned by USABoxingmetro. You will need a book to fight.

Lowell, Mass. (Január 21, 2017) – The preliminary round of the 71st annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship concluded last night with 11 exciting Central New England (nagyobb Lowell) men’s novice matches at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
