LAS VEGAS, NV (六月 28, 2017) – The Pound-4-Pound Boxing program out of Las Vegas, had another successful outing this past weekend at the Roy Jones Jr. “Future Stars of Boxing” tournament that took place at the Sam’s Town Casino in Las Vegas. Out of the 15 active participants, 11 came home with championship belts.
“Our program had another fantastic showing this past weekend,” said coach Richard Barrientes. “Like I’ve always said, it’s about building self-esteem with these kids. They’re a great group from top to bottom. I’m very proud of our team and we are looking forward to the next tournament. Our main goal is to enter in as many tournaments as possible before the end of the year.”

拉斯維加斯’ Pound-4-Pound Boxing Program Sends 18 Participants to 6th Annual Southern California State Championships

Pound-4-Pound head coach, Richard Barrientes Jr., has been grooming most of his students since they were 8-years old. Barrientes hopes to bring home titles in several weight classes.
“This is a very difficult tournament for all weight classes because there are so many good fighters participating from Southern and Northern California, along with some neighboring states,” said Barrientes. “I feel we have some of the top kids competing in this tournament and I’m hoping to bring home a few titles. It won’t be easy, but I have faith my team will do well, because I know they all put in an extremely amount of hard work. 輸贏, it’s all about keeping these kids in a positive environment, where they can excel and gain self-esteem.”

Gleason’s Gym will host the 15th annual Fantasy Boxing Camp at Honor’s Haven Resort and Spa.
The Boxing Camp
If you like boxing you will love the Camp
The camp will include intensive boxing discussions, training sessions, sparring sessions and training drills. At the end of the camp you will have the chance to showcase your new skills in our Camp Sparring Show.
The camp will give you the chance to learn from world-class trainers, Hall of Fame boxers and World Champions both past and present. Professional and amateur sparring partners will also be available to help with your training. 男人, women and children are all welcome. No previous boxing experience is necessary. All levels of skill from beginners to veterans will be present at the camp.

2017 New England Golden Gloves Team Champion – Western New England

LOWELL, 質量. (三月 3, 2017) – Western New England won its fourth consecutive New England Tournament of Champions open class team title last night in the grand finale of the 71st annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Western NE had seven individual winners to earn the Bill Hoar Memorial Award as the Most Outstanding Team. Northern New England finished second with three individual winners and Central New England had two.
“再次,” New England Golden Gloves Executive Director Bobby Russo 說, “it was a great tournament with so many good, competitive matches. We had the biggest crowd of the season turnout for the finals. The draw was done by computer, so the marches were nice and fair. I really liked the way these boxers were matched. The fans here in Lowell have been appreciated for a long time watching good fights and we plan to keep that rich tradition going.”
Western New England bantamweight Nathan Martinez, who defeated Joseph Valdez on points last night, was named the recipient of the Thomas Costello Memorial Award as the Most Outstanding Boxer.
Norther New England lightweight Liz Leddy won her sixth All-New England title with a close points win over Kelsay Kaiser, while three-time National Golden Gloves champion 拉希迪埃利斯 (Central New England), 誰是否. 2 rated lightweight in the United States, took a decision against defending N.E. 冠軍 Lyndsay Kyajohnian.

“New England will be sending a strong team to the National Golden Gloves,” Russo added. “We may only have three female boxers going to The Nationals, but each one of them have won national tournaments. I will offer the Team New England head coaching position to 路易斯·羅薩 from the winning Western New England team. LOWELL, 質量. (二月 24, 2017) – Twelve novice division champions were crowned last night in the men and women’s finals of the New England Tournament of Champions, part of the 71st annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Central New England edged Western New England, 6-4, to win the team title and receive the George McGuane Award. Northern New England had the other two individual winners.
The much-anticipated showdown in the light welterweight bout lived up to its billing as Alejandro Paulino, of New London (CT), defeated Tyngsboro’s (嘛) Nathan Balakin, 4-1. Paulino was presented the Louie Ayala Memorial Award as the Outstanding Boxer. Jose Ayala, Louie’s brother, made the presentation.
“We had another big, enthusiastic crowd that enjoyed watching some great matches,” 說 Bobby Russo, New England Golden Gloves Executive Director. “The novice division finals had so many good matchups. Paulino versus Balakin was a very good fight. 現在, we move on to next week’s open division semifinals and finals of the New England Tournament of Champions.”

New England Tournament of Champions
LOWELL, 質量. (二月 17, 2017) – Many of the best novice boxers in New England competed last night in the semifinals of the New England Tournament of Champions, part of the 71st annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
To the delight of an always enthusiastic crowd, hometown-favorite Team Central had the most individual winners with seven, followed by Team Western (4), Team Southern (3) and Team Northern (1).
“Nate Balakin dominated his bout and next Thursday night’s finals match with the other light welterweight winner last night. Alejandro Paolino, is one everybody is looking forward to seeing,”
