Tickets for the live event priced at $150, $100, $75, $50 thiab $25, not including applicable service charges and taxes are on sale now and are available for purchase atwww.axs.com (Nyem qhov OS to purchase tickets).

The televised action on Spike TV begins at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the West Coast) thiab 6:00 p.m. PT in the arena!

Fighting on the Premier Boxing Champions series on Spike TV is huge for all of us and for the sport of boxing. This is going to take all of us to a whole different level and give us the chance to become household names,” said Berto. “Fighting on free television is what made guys like Sugar Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran and Marvin Hagler huge stars and I’m ready for my chance to do the same. I can’t wait to start this next chapter of my career and you’re going to see a new and rejuvenated Andre Berto on March 13th on Spike TV so make sure to tune in.

This is definitely going to be the fight of my life and I’m excited,” said Lopez. “I’m looking forward to all of my local fans being there to witness a great victory. I’m fighting a really good fighter in Berto, but every fighter is dangerous. I know I have to prepare even better than ever. On March 13, I expect a big crowd because I’m fighting so close to home and my fans have been so supportive wherever I fight. I’m confident that I’m going to give the fans in attendance and on television a great performance.

The opportunity to fight on Spike TV and show my skills in front of millions of people is very exciting. Being a part of the first PBC event on Spike TV is an honor,” said Porter. “My opponent has a great record and he’s a veteran. He’s strong and durable and he’s going to be a ready when he gets into that ring. I expect it to be a very tough fight, but a great fight. Of course, I expect to win and I expect to look very good doing it.

I’m grateful that I’m going to be part of something that is going to be great for this sport and that is being on the first PBC event on Spike TV,” said Garcia. “Shawn Porter is a great world class fighter. He is the kind of fighters that you need to beat to be seen at the ‘A-levelin boxing. This is the fight that can change my career and my life. I’m already training as hard as I can. I’m giving it everything I have in the gym so I can give everything I have on March 13.

We’re thrilled to be a part of this extraordinary event on Spike TV,” said promoter Tom Brown. “These two fights will undoubtedly provide non-stop action for the fans in the arena and those watching at home.

A former two-time welterweight world champion and 2004 Haitian Olympian, Andre Berto is consistently one of boxing’s most exciting fighters, which will be on display in a big way when he appears on Spike TV March 13. Fully healed from a shoulder injury suffered during his thrilling 2013 bout with Jesus Soto Karass, the Winter Haven, Fl. native most recently wiped out Steve Upsher in September 2014, one day before his 31st birthday. Now he looks to continue his ascent back to the top of the division when he takes on Lopez.

A noted fan favorite for his exciting style and ability to triumph against the odds, the 30-year-old Josesito Lopez has won three straight fights since his exciting and courageous efforts against Canelo Alvarez and Marcos Maidana in 2012 thiab 2013. The Riverside, Calif.-native made a major name for himself with an upset victory over Victor Ortiz in 2012, which truly reinforced hisRiverside Rockynickname. Lopez looks to pull off another upset when he takes on Berto on Spike TV.

An athletic marvel, Sean Porter is eager to return to the ring after dropping a majority decision to Kell Brook in August 2014. Porter came into that fight undefeated, after having taken down two of the best fighters in the division. Porter dominated Devon Alexander in December 2013 on his way to a unanimous decision victory. He followed that up by overpowering former two-division champion Paulie Malignaggi with a fourth round stoppage in April 2014. The Akron, Ohio native looks to get back in the win column when he takes on Garcia on March 13.

A veteran of the sport for nearly 15 xyoo, Roberto Garcia is looking forward to appearing on Spike TV to re-introduce himself as a contender at 147-pounds. Born in Mexico, but having moved to Weslaco, Texas at a young age, Garcia was able to pile up enough wins to eventually earn himself a shot at former world champion Antonio Margarito. While he lost that decision, Garcia has won eight-straight including his two most recent wins over Breidis Prescott and Victor Manuel Cayo. Garcia gets another chance on March 13 when he takes on a tough and ready Porter.

A full night of exciting undercard bouts will be announced shortly.

PBC on Spike TV, will take place Friday, Lub peb hlis ntuj 13 at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, Calif. The event will air live on Spike TV at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the West Coast) thiab 6:00 p.m. PT in the arena.

In MMA, like most sports, there is an old adage that was made popular by actor Will Smith that states, “If you stay ready, you don’t have to get ready. That is one of the principles that Oklahoma native and blue chip MMA prospect Jamal Parks lives by. Parks put those words of wisdom into full effect this past week. Just five days removed from his fifth career MMA victory in five contests, Parks eagerly accepted the next challenge presented to him in his already spectacular athletic career.

That challenge came when undefeated RFA star Sam Toomer was forced off of next week’s RFA 23 card in Costa Mesa, California with an injury sustained late in his training camp. Toomer was set to face Raoni Barcelos, who is one of the most highly-touted featherweight prospects in MMA. Barcelos is the son of 7th degree jiu-jitsu black-and-red belt Laerte Barcelos and has been groomed for greatness in combat sports since the age of two. That left many wondering who would be able to step up and challenge the Brazilian wunderkind adequately on such short notice.

The answer to that question comes in the form of Parks, who is used to competing against elite athletes in wrestling and looks to continue the long legacy of Oklahoma State wrestlers who have blossomed into MMA stars. That list includes Randy Couture, Johny Hendricks, Daniel Cormier, Mark Muñoz, Jake Rosholt, Jared Rosholt, Shane Roller, Mo Lawal, as well as RFA vets Steve Mocco and Tyler Shinn.

This is a great opportunity and I’m ready to light it up,” stated an excited Parks, who is now set to travel to southern California this week to participate on the biggest stage of his promising MMA career.

Parks was a three-time high school state wrestling champion in Oklahoma, while attending Union High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He then wrestled alongside Jared Rosholt and Shinn at Oklahoma State and became an NCAA Division I All-American his senior season. The proud Oklahoma State Cowboy then turned his attention to MMA after graduating and has seen his hand raised five times in five contests. However, this Friday will see him compete on national television (AXS TV) and international television (The Fight Network) for the first time. He will also be facing the toughest test of his career in Barcelos.

You see, Barcelos is not your typical jiu-jitsu black belt. He is also an accomplished wrestler having once been a member of the Brazilian National Wrestling Team. Barcelos, who received his jiu-jitsu black belt at age 20, also won a Brazilian national title in freestyle wrestling the same year. Barcelos is also the main training partner to UFC featherweight kingpin Jose Aldo. That pedigree is enough to scare away many potential opponents even with a full training camp to prepare. However, Parks fresh off his fifth win and newly signed multi-fight deal with RFA, feels he is more than ready for the challenge and is eager to participate in the most high-stakes MMA bout of his career.Parks and Barcelos meet in a featherweight bout on the main card of RFA 23 – Murphy vs. Ware onHnub vas Xuv, February 6th. The event takes place at The Hangar at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, California. The main card will be televised nationwide on AXS TV and internationally on The Fight Network at 10 p.m. LI / 7 p.m. PT.

MAINE’S NEWEST FIGHT TEAM MAKING NOISE IN THE MMA CAGE

Lewiston, Maine (Lub ob hlis ntuj 3, 2015) –New England Fights (NEF), America’s number-one regional fight promotion, presents its next mixed-martial-arts (MMA) event hnub Saturday no night at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, Maine. The fight card, titledNEF XVI,” will feature two members of Maine’s newest fight team, Ruthless MMA & Thawv, in amateur bouts.

Ruthless MMA & Boxing was founded in 2014 by veteran fighter Josh Parker (4-8). Parker has a long history in the NEF MMA cage, having competed seven times for the fight promotion between February 2012 and November 2013. More recently, Parker has remained out of the MMA cage to focus on his career as a professional boxer, as well as building his gym.

Parker opened the gym in Benton, Maine as a way of giving back to the fight community. He sees Ruthless MMA & Boxing as a means to introduce young athletes from the area to the burgeoning world of combat sports and provide them with opportunities to compete. That includes his own sons.

I’ve been thinking about starting my own gym for a while now,” said Parker. “My first fight was almost ten years ago when my son was three. Now he’s 13 and ready to start his own fight career, and I just had another son. I knew it was time to build my boys a place where they can train whenever they want to. This is a fight family.

Parker introduced his first protégé, Alex Johnson (1-1), in the fall of 2014. Johnson is coming off a win over Rick Matthews (0-1) in a brutal, back-and-forth slugfest atNEF XVthis past November. The bout was considered by many to be theFight of the Nightof that card.

Corey Trial (0-0), another of Parker’s prospects, hopes to continue the success brought to Ruthless MMA & Boxing by his teammate Alex Johnson. Trial makes his NEF MMA debut hnub Saturday no night in Lewiston when he meets Ricky Dexter (1-0) of Team Irish in a lightweight contest.

I’ve always dreamed of being able to punch someone in the face and not go to jail for it,” Trial stated. “Now that I have that opportunity, you better believe someone’s getting hurt.

Our style is simple, we like to stand and bang,” Parker elaborated. “When we spar, we like to see who can hit the hardest. Mike Tyson said it best ‘everybody’s got a plan- until they get hit.We want to give the fans exciting fights. We’re looking for knockouts.

The guys at Ruthless come from all walks of life- whether it was street fighting or cage fighting they all came with experience throwing fists. They each approached me after hearing I was building a gym. Our values are simple- when you come in you leave your ego at the door. When you’re a part of the Ruthless team, you’re expected to carry yourself as a professional- sportsmanship and respect are a must.

Bryant Orick (3-5) is another Ruthless team member scheduled to make his NEF MMA debut this Saturday night. It will not, however, be his first time in the cage. Orick, a native of Ohio now living in Clinton, Maine, has competed in the sport for five years. He is a veteran of eight bouts, fighting in the Buckeye State, Kansas and Indiana, to name a few states. Orick hopes to find a home and success in NEF alongside his Ruthless MMA & Boxing teammates. AtNEF XVIthis weekend, Orick will have his work cut out for him with undefeated Fred Lear (2-0) of Young’s MMA.

I’m coming out to make a name for myself at NEF,” said Orick. “I am well-rounded and going to put on a show. I train hard every day, have a great coach and teammates. Nothing will surprise me in my upcoming bout.

Being a coach has taught me to slow it down and bring it back to the basics,” Parker stated. “Fighting really is pretty simple, knock the other guy out and you win. I demand 100% from my fighters, and I give them 100% back. Fighting is not a hobby, it’s a lifestyle.

Ruthless MMA & Boxing is located in Benton, Maine. You can learn more about the team at their Facebook pageRuthless MMA & Boxing.

NEF’s next MMA event, “NEF XVI,” takes place this Hnub vas xaum, Lub ob hlis ntuj 7, 2015, with an all-star lineup of fights scheduled. RayAll BusinessWood (5-0) returns that night to defend the NEF MMA Featherweight Title against Bellator and WEC veteran AnthonyCheesesteakMorrison (16-9). NFL and UFC The Ultimate Fighter veteran Tyler King (7-2) puts the NEF MMA Heavyweight Title on the line against TerryThe Polar BearBlackburn (5-2). GCP’s ‘LightningLuis Off to Sensational Start in 2015

I didn’t know the odds were 7-1 against me, or I would have bet on myself!” laughed Canadian lightweight Tony “xob laim” Luis (19-2, 7 KOs).

In the first boxing upset of the new year, Luis picked up the WBC Continental Americas Lightweight Championship and ruined the undefeated record of IBF #15 rated KarlDynamiteDargan (17-1, 9 KOs), last Friday night at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut, by way of a 10-round unanimous decision. Luis clearly dominated Dargan and dropped him in rounds three (the referee mistakenly ruled it a slip) thiab 10 to cap off a very impressive performance.

The career-changing victory is the latest in a hot streak for the 27-year-old Luis, from Cornwall, Ontario. Dargan’s was the second “0” in a row that Luis has taken, as he handed New Jersey’s Wanzell Ellison his first loss last July as well. It would be his third consecutive if not for some questionable scoring against Ukraine’s Ivan Redkach last January. The combined records of Luis’s last three opponents were 43-0-1, 27 KOs.

Words can’t even describe what I’m feeling right now,” continued Luis. “It hasn’t even sunk in yet. It seemed like it took so long to get there, with all the highs and lows of training camp, but now that it’s over, it feels like it happened too quickly.

Luis says that while it may have appeared to be an easy win for him (scores were 97-92, 99-90, thiab 97-92), looks are deceiving. “I didn’t think it was going to look as easy as it did. It wasn’t easy in any way, I had to work hard in there to get the win, but watching it, it looks like I had an easy time. I’m just grateful to my promoter, Greg Cohen, for the opportunity and for the fair judging and officiating we received this time.

2015 is starting out smashingly for Luis. Not only will he now sky rocket through the world rankings as a streaking contender (he is currently #13 in the WBA), he and fiance Manon Latulippe are expecting their first child any day now.

The year is starting off with a bang. I couldn’t be happier. I’m going to enjoy my baby and then, soon as he’s born, I’ll be right back in the gym.

Promoter Greg Cohen says he’s excited about the future for his Canadian slugger.

Tony works very hard in the gym and has all the heart you could ask for and it shows in his fights. He outworks his opponents and overwhelms them with his relentlessness aggression. This is his second consecutive win over a well-regarded, undefeated fighter, and should actually be his third. I am proud to be working with such an outstanding fighter and his team. Tony is ready to fight for the world title and we are going to do everything we can to deliver him a title fight or title eliminator.

A substance abuse counselor back home, Luis says the reception in Cornwall has been tremendous. “Everybody. My family, all my friends and so many fans from back home are ecstatic. I’m overwhelmed by the support I get. It’s an honor.
