CARLTON, MN. (Mai 18, 2016) – Unbeaten cruiserweight contender Murat “Fier” Gassiev (23-0, 17 KO) scored a sensational knockout victory over Jordan Shimmell (20-2, 16 KO) în evenimentul principal al Premier box Campionilor Marți TOE-la-n picioare pe FS1 și Box Campionilor pe FOX DeportesMarți night from Black Bear Casino Resort in Carlton, MN in the Otter Creek Event Center.

The co-main event of the night saw local favorite Joey “Minnesota Ice” Abell (32-9, 30 KO) deliver a dominant performance in knocking out previously unbeaten Wes Nofire (19-1, 15 KO) in their heavyweight showdown.
The former title challenger bothered Nofire early and often from his southpaw stance and was successful with his left hand throughout the fight. Abell snuck in a strong right hook in round two that stunned Nofire before he delivered multiple left hooks to score the early knockdown.
Nofire tried to weather the storm but a big right hand from Abell again put Nofire down early in the third round. Nofire almost made it out of the round but Abell’s power in the left hand proved to be too much as a series of strong shots sent Nofire down for the final time before his corner stopped the fight.
Abell could hardly miss as he connected on 42 percent of his punches on his way to the stoppage at 2:12 a treia rundă.

“This is exactly what I planned. I thought I might get him in the first round but I took my time. My punches were sharp. There were times in the past where I felt my timing was off but I’m in great shape so I wasn’t thinking about getting tired.”

“I just didn’t get the shots I was looking for. I thought I was going to be able to back him up more with my jab. He stayed his distance and lunged in from out of range.
“One of the head butts caught me pretty good and I just couldn’t see what he was coming back with.
“The head butts were giving me problems and he followed up on me after them. He was a little stronger than I expected but I’ve been hit hard like that by other fighters.

LONDRA (Mai 17, 2016) – A heavyweight match-up between Mark ‘The hand of’ Godbeer (11-2) și James Mulheron (8-1) will kick off the televised portion of the highly anticipated “Bellator: London” card when the promotion arrives at the O2 Arena in London on Iulie 16. The collision course that the two big men are on will divide the British fans in attendance as the three-round attraction sees Northern UK go head to head with Southern UK, with both men looking for the big KO.

Last time I fought off of the back of an 18 month lay-off due to a big injury and feel I wasn’t myself, so I’m glad to get another chance to show them the real me.”

 

Both Godbeer and Mulheron are hard-hitting heavyweights with great cardio and athleticism and share a common fight strategy: knock the other guy out. Mulheron won a regional title with the M4TC promotion, and will be competing in Bellator for the first time. “I don’t really go into fights with a game plan,” said Mulheron. “I go in with an open mind. I think every fighter needs to be able to adapt in fights but everyone who watches me knows I come to fight and this fight will be no different.”

 

In the United Kingdom, the event will be broadcast free on SPIKE UK and Channel 5, while in America the card will air FREE on SPIKE. LAS VEGAS (Mai 17, 2016) - World Series of Fighting (www.WSOF.com) announced today that it is launching a groundbreaking program designed to support and further the athletic careers of military veterans who actively compete, or are seeking to compete, in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).

"WSOF: Who’s The Toughest?” will include a dedicated recruitment program that will see World Series of Fighting President and six-time world champion Tatăl Chiefs and his staff visit MMA gyms, beginning with a location in San Diego, Calif. next month, in order to evaluate the pool of competitors with veteran status.

Toms River, NJ (Mai 17, 2016) – Pe Sâmbătă, June 4th, grea neînvinsă,“Brutal”Brendan Barrett will headline a night of professional boxing at the Toms River East High School.

The show is promoted by HITM Promotions.
Barrett Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey is 4-0-2 with four knockouts and establishing himself as a attraction in New Jersey.
The 6-time MMA champion, has been very active since becoming a full-time boxer as this will be his sixth fight in the last nine months.
He has a disputed draw with Dan Pasciolla and he is coming off an explosive 2nd round stoppage over Alando Pugh on April 29th in Atlantic City.

Most people at ringside believed that Barrett should have been awarded the fight against the undefeated and current Tri-State Heavyweight champion Pasciolla.

Barrett’s opponent will be announced shortly.

Lewiston, Maine (Mai 17, 2016) - Doar câteva zile eliminate de la găzduirea unui “Lupta anului” candidat la Hyannis, Massachusetts între Kylie O'Hearn (1-0) și Angela Young (1-2), Lupte New England (NEF) a anunțat că cușca promovării luptei va găzdui o altă luptă de amatori pentru femei în Lewiston în iunie 18, 2016. La “NEF 24: TEREN PROMIS,” Veteran NEF Alex Walker (0-1) revine în cușcă pentru a-l întâlni pe nou-venit Nicole Burgess (0-0) într-un meci amator cu greutatea paiului.

 

Walker a ajuns în NEF în primăvara anului 2015 să o înfrunte pe Randi Beth Boyington (1-3) în ceea ce a fost debutul în cușcă pentru ambele femei. BELLATOR MMA EXTENDS CONTRACT OF STANDOUT BANTAMWEIGHT SUPERSTAR DARRION ‘THE WOLF’ CALDWELL

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (Mai 16, 2016) – Bellator MMA is proud to announce the contract extension of undefeated bantamweight superstar Darrion "Lupul" Caldwell (9-0) la un exclusiv multi-ani, contract de multi-lupta.

 

“Darrion is a fighter who I really think has that x-factor,” said President Scott Coker. “After his last fight, I looked at our matchmaker and I just said, ‘Wow, this is kid is exploding with talent.’ I’m very happy we were able to get this deal done and I look forward to seeing this star rise for years to come.”

 

Growing up in New Jersey, Caldwell was a talented, multi-sport athlete who shined the brightest on the wrestling mats. After becoming a three-time high school state champion in New Jersey, “The Wolf” naturally joined “The Wolfpack,” earning a spot on the North Carolina State University wrestling squad. With the Wolfpack, he continued dominate his opponents, winning the NCAA national wrestling championship in 2009.

 

Making his professional MMA debut in 2012, the 28-year-old has looked seemingly unstoppable at times throughout his first nine fights. În ultimul său excursie, the six-fight Bellator MMA veteran Caldwell convincingly defeated former two-division Bellator champion, and Greco-Roman world champion wrestler Joe Warren. Caldwell is nothing if not confident in himself, continuing with host Ariel Helwani: “I’ve always been a star, but it’s just been about getting on that platform and Bellator is giving me that opportunity… I don’t think any 135-pounder can see me, ya feel me? Whether its UFC, Bellator, anywhere in the world there isn’t a 135-pounder that can beat me.”
