New Jersey promoter makes first wave of signings
All will be in action on Zaterdag, November 12th at The Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City
Millville NJ (Oktober 3, 2016)–Rising Promotions is proud to announce the signings of super middleweight Isiah Seldon, super lightweight’s Marvin Johnson & Dan Murray, bantamgewicht Dallas Holden, cruiserweight David Sparks and featherweight Dion Sparks to exclusive promotional contracts.
They join undefeated heavyweight Quian Davis (3-0-2, 2 KO's) as the first group of fighters to ink contracts under the Rising Promotions banner.
Davis is coming off a 28 second knockout this past Zaterdag night in Trenton, New Jersey over Jonathan Hafley
Seldon of Atlantic City, New Jersey heeft een record van 9-1 met drie knock-outs.

I want to thank Debbie LaManna, Thomas LaManna and Vinny LaManna. It has effected and changed my family lives. I was on the shelf for a year and now I get the opportunities to show my skills,” said Johnson.
Murray, 24 years-old of Barnegat, New Jersey was 26-7 als amateur. He was a New Jersey Golden Gloves and New Jersey Diamond Gloves champion.

Holden, 20 years-old of Atlantic City was a highly regarded amateur who amassed 50 gevechten. Holden fought in the Philadelphia Golden Gloves. He has a professional record of 1-0. Holden turned professional on July 22nd with a four-round unanimous decision over Kevin Asmat in Atlantic City.
“I have known Thomas for a long time and its going to be a good thing. It’s going to open a lot of doors. Because of my amateur career, people know me and now they want to see me fight as a professional,” said Holden.
David Sparks of Brooklyn, New York heeft een record van 2-0. De 31 jarige werd professional in 2014 and in his latest outing, he won a four-round unanimous decision over Marcellus Yates on March 28, 2015 in Queens, New York
Before turning pro, Sparks competed in 80 amateur fights and amassed 3 National championships, Golden Gloves and Ringside world championships
“Signing came at a great time. We needed a break in our career. We have been going through some difficult things. I expect to fight a lot . Hopefully every month or two. I am always in the gym. Hopefully eight to ten fights.

Dion Sparks, 19 jaar oud, had 135 amateur gevechten. Hij won 3 national championships and 2 world championships, and at one point was ranked number-one in the United States.

“This is every exciting. I can do really great with Rising Promotions. I am young and talented. We been all over including at Mayweather Gym. I am always in shape and I am ready to fight. I have great expectations. I would like to fight 8 naar 10 times and just stay active. I think within two or three years, we can get the right fights and fight for a championship. Stephon Young wins WBA NABA title with decision over Tony Lopez Jr.

Nutley, NJ (Oktober 3, 2016)–Het afgelopen Vrijdag nacht, newly signed GH3 Promotions fighter Stephon Young turned in a terrific performance as he won the WBA NABA Bantamweight title with a ten-round majority decision over Tony Lopez Jr.
De bout, which was held at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center, was televised live on CBS Sports Network.

Young controlled the final three-quarters of the bout as he used his speed and aggressiveness to win by scores 97-93, 96-94 en 95-95.

Jong, 28 years old of St. Louis, raised his undefeated mark to 15-0-3 with six-knockouts.

“I am not going to say he is next, but I want to fight (WBA Bantamweight champion) Rau’she Warren. He beat me in the 2012 Olympic trials and we have some unfinished business.”
“Stephon boxed a beautiful fight op vrijdag,” zei GH3 Promotions Vito Milenicki. “He was very impressive, and now he as the NABA title. Now between me and Henry Rivalta, we will move him the right way and get him the title shot he deserves.”

Petr Petrov earns mandatory WBA lightweight title shot with stoppage over Michael Perez

Indio, ZOALS (Oktober 3, 2016) – Petr Petrov (38-4-2, 19 KO's) earned a mandatory world title shot at the WBA Lightweight title with a stoppage after 6 rounds over Michael Perez in a scheduled 12 round bout at the Fantasy Springs Casino Resort in Indio, Californië.
In round 2, Perez was bloodied over his right eye, and Petrov was cut on his forehead. Later in the round, Petrov dropped Perez with a hard right to the head. Petrov continued the assault as he battered and hurt Perez with evenly dispersed punches to the head and body. As the blood continued over Perez’s right eye, Petrov never let up.

Eindelijk, trainer Robert Garcia decided his fighter had enough and stopped the fight after the 6th round.

“I just want to thank everybody who made this win possible. My wife Carolina, My family back home in Spain and Russia. This victory is what I have been working for to be so close to a world title shot. This was one of the best training camps I have had, and I want to thank my trainer/ manager Danny Zamora and my strength and conditioning coach Jerry Arias,” Said Petrov. “Mike Perez is a true warrior, and he came to fight, and it was great fight. All I want to do is go home to Spain get some rest and wait for the phone call from my promoter to let me know when I will be fighting for the world title.”
Banner Promotions President, Artie Pelullo stated, “Petr looked sensational, He has been getting better every fight, and this is the best he has looked. He has really earned his title opportunity. EX-TEAMMATES TO FIGHT IN MAIN EVENT OF NEF 26

Lewiston, Maine (Oktober 3, 2016) – Eerder vandaag, New England Fights (NEF) executives announced the main event of “NEF 26: SUPREMACY.” “De” Ryan Sanders (11-8) zal worden geconfronteerd met Jon Lemke (5-6) in a lightweight bout at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston on Zaterdag, November 19.

 

At one time, Sanders and Lemke were teammates at Marcus Davis’s Team Irish gym in Brewer, Maine. That all changed when Sanders left and joined cross-town rival Young’s MMA in Bangor.

 

“I’m very happy to be fighting back in Lewiston,” said Sanders. “I’m thankful that Jon took this fight seeing how several top-ten lightweights turned it down. But that’s why I like Jon, he’s a fighter’s fighter and he never backs down from a tough fight. His last victory in the NEF cage will have been almost a year to the day when he defeated Matt Denning (3-4) in Lewiston op “NEF XX.” Lemke is coming off a loss to NEF MMA Pro Lightweight Champion Devin Powell (8-1) this past August in Bangor.

 

“What a great opportunity I have been presented by New England Fights to fight Ryan Sanders,” zei Lemke. “Ryan has been in, and done well, with the very best of New England. He is a well-rounded fighter and will challenge me in all areas. I very much look forward to this challenge and know that there will be fireworks for sure in this fight.”

CES AND NEF FORCED TO CANCEL CO-PROMOTIONAL EVENT

Lewiston, Maine (Oktober 3, 2016) – The CES and NEF co-promotion scheduled for November 4 in Lewiston is no more. Executives from both companies announced today that the mixed-martial-arts event had been canceled due to matchmaking issues.

 

With several fighters pulling off the AXS TV portion of the card, and others turning down fights offered by matchmakers, and with the 30-day deadline to submit the fight card to the state commission for approval looming, the two companies were left with no choice but to call the event off.

 

“We are disappointed that this event didn’t materialize as planned,” said CES Vice President and Director of Legal Affairs Jimmy Burchfield, Jr. “But we are optimistic that we can make it happen in 2017.”

 

Details will follow for CES 39.

 

“It’s unfortunate, but we had no other option,” said NEF promoter Nick DiSalvo. “When one door closes, another opens.”

 

The door that has opened is Zaterdag, November 19 op de Androscoggin Bank Colisee. NEF will present “NEF 26,” and it will feature the promotion’s fighters who had already been scheduled to compete on November 4 plus many others. Deuren gaan open om 6 pm with first fight at 7 pm. NEF chose to push the event date back two weeks in order to give new fighters added to the card more time to prepare.

 

“Once we made the mutual decision to cancel the event,” said NEF matchmaker Matt Peterson, “I got on the phone and immediately started making calls. Within hours we had already assembled a spectacular card that we’ll be sharing with fans this week. No one will be disappointed when they make the trek to the Colisee on November 19th. We have an explosive event planned.”

 

For those who have already purchased tickets for November 4 through the Colisee box office, they will have the option of either a full refund or using their ticket for November 19. Fans will have until this Friday, Oktober 7 bij 4 pm EDT to call the box office at 207-783-2009 X 525 to request a full refund. The box office cannot refund tickets purchased from fighters. Any fan who purchased a ticket from a fighter and would like a refund will have to return their ticket to the fighter for the refund. Fans who choose to keep their tickets for November 19do not have to do anything. All tickets printed with the “November 4” date will be honored at the door on November 19.

Erik Ruiz celebrates his upset victory

LAS VEGAS (September 30, 2016) — late vervanging Erik “El Trumpo” Ruiz van streek Hanzel Martinez in vanavond “Knockout Night at the D” main event in front of another sold-out crowd at the outdoor Downtown Las Vegas Events Center.

Ruiz (16-5-1, 6 KO) replaced Emmanuel Quartey, who was unable to secure a visa, and he was rewarded with a 10-round majority decision victory over fellow Mexican fighter Hanzel Martinez (23-3, 19 KO) voor de vacante World Boxing Association (WBA) International super bantamweight title.

“Ik voel me geweldig,” Ruiz exclaimed. “I took this last minute fight but I was ready for it. Hanzel is a tough fighter. He has guts. I didn’t think he’d to the full 10 rondes. This is an opportunity that will open a lot of doors for me. He knew he was coming to fight and I as ready for him.”

In a good technical fight with a lot of give-and-take action from start to finish, ongeslagenStephon “Showstopper” Jong (15-0-3, 6 KO) verslagen Tony Lopez, Jr. (11-2, 4 KO) in a battle of gritty southpaws. In the television opener, NABA USA super welterweight champion John “The Phenom” Vera (15-0, 10 KO) made another strong statement under the neon lights, stopping challenger Milorad “Micko” Zizic (12-2, 7 KO) in de tweede ronde. Making his second title defense, Vera, a southpaw, served notice to all super welterweights, dropping Zizic twice and then staggering him again before referee Kenny Baylesscalled an end to the fight.

“I came out here to put on a show,” Vera said after the fight. “I dropped him (eerste) with a left-right. The second knockdown I feinted and hit him with a hard right jab. I then turned right-handed because I knew my right was working. I knew I had him.”

Las Vegas junior lightweight Randy Moreno cruised to his fifth win without a loss, unloading an unanswered barrage of punches on Fabian “El Suavecito” Alanez (1-1) until referee Jay Nady halted the fight in the second round.

Popular Las Vegas welterweight Jeremy “J-Flash” Nichols verbeterd 7-0 with a totally in control 4-round decision over Marquis “De Hawk” Hawthorn (4-5, 1 KO).

Former Fighting Cab Driver David Emanuel Peralta Moving to Miami to Train with Herman Caicedo

The world’s most unexpected top contender, red-hot welterweight David Emanuel Peralta, has left his cab-driving job behind in his native Argentina and will now be training with well-known coach Herman Caicedo at Caicedo Sports Training Center in Miami, Florida.
Peralta (26-2-1, 14 KO), who won a clear but surprising split-decision victory over multi-division world champion Robert Guerrero in August, will now find himself preparing for his upcoming fight in December beside several world-class names including Interim WBA World Heavyweight Champion Luis “King Kong” Ortiz, former WBA Super Bantamweight Champion Juan Carlos Payano, Claudio Marrero, Yenifel Vicente, Ramon Luis and many more top professionals.
33-year-old Peralta says he can’t believe the path his life has now taken.

“I am honored to be coming to the United States to train with a great trainer like Herman Caicedo and beside so many great names in the sport. I will train harder than ever to stay in boxing as a top fighter. Thank you to my promoter, Sampson Lewkowicz, and to Herman for helping me do this.”

Caicedo, who has also trained several past champions including Shannon Briggs, al Cole, Yuriorkis Gamboa and more, says Peralta is a welcome addition to his gym.
“I am excited to have David as part of the family of champions we are creating here at Caicedo Sports,” said Caicedo. “His win over Robert Guerrero has put him on the map, and I look forward to helping David get to the next level, the championship level.”
Promoter Lewkowicz, known for finding hidden gems in foreign boxing markets including Manny Pacquiao and Sergio “Zich afvragen” Martinez among many others, says Peralta is on the prowl for his next victim.
“He will fight anyone,” zei Lewkowicz. “Any champion or top contender can say the word and we will fight them. David has great sparring partners available and the time to properly prepare. He is very, very dangerous to anyone in the world. He’s going to prove that.”
