Stephon Young wins WBA NABA title with decision over Tony Lopez Jr.

Petr Petrov earns mandatory WBA lightweight title shot with stoppage over Michael Perez

Indio, ΟΠΩΣ (Οκτώβριος 3, 2016) – Petr Πετρόφ (38-4-2, 19 KO του) earned a mandatory world title shot at the WBA Lightweight title with a stoppage after 6 rounds over Michael Perez in a scheduled 12 round bout at the Fantasy Springs Casino Resort in Indio, Καλιφόρνια.

EX-TEAMMATES TO FIGHT IN MAIN EVENT OF NEF 26

CES AND NEF FORCED TO CANCEL CO-PROMOTIONAL EVENT

Lewiston, Μέιν (Οκτώβριος 3, 2016) – The CES and NEF co-promotion scheduled for Νοέμβριος 4 in Lewiston is no more. Executives from both companies announced today that the mixed-martial-arts event had been canceled due to matchmaking issues.

 

With several fighters pulling off the AXS TV portion of the card, and others turning down fights offered by matchmakers, and with the 30-day deadline to submit the fight card to the state commission for approval looming, the two companies were left with no choice but to call the event off.

 

“We are disappointed that this event didn’t materialize as planned,” said CES Vice President and Director of Legal Affairs Jimmy Burchfield, Jr. “But we are optimistic that we can make it happen in 2017.”

 

Details will follow for CES 39.

 

“It’s unfortunate, but we had no other option,” said NEF promoter Nick DiSalvo. “When one door closes, another opens.”

 

The door that has opened is Σάββατο, Νοέμβριος 19 στην Androscoggin Bank Colisee. NEF will present “NEF 26,” and it will feature the promotion’s fighters who had already been scheduled to compete on Νοέμβριος 4 plus many others. Within hours we had already assembled a spectacular card that we’ll be sharing with fans this week. No one will be disappointed when they make the trek to the Colisee on November 19ου. We have an explosive event planned.”

 

For those who have already purchased tickets for Νοέμβριος 4 through the Colisee box office, they will have the option of either a full refund or using their ticket for Νοέμβριος 19. Fans will have until this Friday, Οκτώβριος 7 στο 4 pm EDT to call the box office at 207-783-2009 x 525 to request a full refund. The box office cannot refund tickets purchased from fighters. Any fan who purchased a ticket from a fighter and would like a refund will have to return their ticket to the fighter for the refund. Fans who choose to keep their tickets for Νοέμβριος 19do not have to do anything. All tickets printed with the “Νοέμβριος 4” date will be honored at the door on Νοέμβριος 19.

Erik Ruiz celebrates his upset victory

Former Fighting Cab Driver David Emanuel Peralta Moving to Miami to Train with Herman Caicedo

The world’s most unexpected top contender, red-hot welterweight David Emanuel Peralta, has left his cab-driving job behind in his native Argentina and will now be training with well-known coach Herman Caicedo at Caicedo Sports Training Center in Miami, Φλόριντα.
Peralta (26-2-1, 14 KOs), who won a clear but surprising split-decision victory over multi-division world champion Robert Guerrero in August, will now find himself preparing for his upcoming fight in December beside several world-class names including Interim WBA World Heavyweight Champion Luis “Κινγκ Κόνγκ” Ortiz, former WBA Super Bantamweight Champion Juan Carlos Payano, Claudio Marrero, Yenifel Vicente, Ramon Luis and many more top professionals.
33-year-old Peralta says he can’t believe the path his life has now taken.

“I am honored to be coming to the United States to train with a great trainer like Herman Caicedo and beside so many great names in the sport. I will train harder than ever to stay in boxing as a top fighter. Thank you to my promoter, Σαμψών Lewkowicz, and to Herman for helping me do this.”

Caicedo, who has also trained several past champions including Shannon Briggs, Al Cole, Yuriorkis Gamboa and more, says Peralta is a welcome addition to his gym.
“I am excited to have David as part of the family of champions we are creating here at Caicedo Sports,” said Caicedo. “His win over Robert Guerrero has put him on the map, and I look forward to helping David get to the next level, the championship level.”
Promoter Lewkowicz, known for finding hidden gems in foreign boxing markets including Manny Pacquiao and Sergio “Αναρωτιέμαι” Martinez among many others, says Peralta is on the prowl for his next victim.
“He will fight anyone,” είπε Lewkowicz. “Any champion or top contender can say the word and we will fight them. David has great sparring partners available and the time to properly prepare. He is very, very dangerous to anyone in the world. He’s going to prove that.”
