Middleweight contender Antoine Douglas signs managerial deal with Henry Rivalta

Miami, Florida (Outubro 7, 2016) Henry Rivalta is pleased to announce the signing of middleweight contender Antoine “Ação” Douglas to a managerial contract.
Douglas of Washington, D.C. tem um registro de 19-1-1 com 13 nocautes.
O 24 year-old is a four-year professional, and has wins over Les Sherrington (35-7), Istvan Szili (18-0-2), Thomas LaManna (16-0), former world title challenger Luca Messi (37-9-1), Marquis Davis (8-0-2) and Colby Courter (4-0).
“I welcome Antoine to my stable,” said Rivalta. “It’s a pleasure to work with Antoine. I have seen what he has done up to this point in his career, and he is a very talented athlete. I think he has the potential to be a world champion, and I am excited to help in his path to winning that title.”
“I am glad to sign with Henry,” stated Douglas. “He has the experience at the highest level, and me and my team can focus on what everybody’s role will be.”
Rivalta continued to glow about his new acquisition.
“I love his passion and style. When you see the special relationship he has with his mother, it tells me a lot about him. He has the tools to be world champion, and his promoter, GH3 Promotions has done a great job and he sticks by his fighters. On the same line, it’s a pleasure to work with Vito Mielnicki and GH3 Promotions.”

Curtis Stevens vs. James De La Rosa Added to Kovalev-Ward “Pound For Pound” Non-Televised Undercard

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA (Outubro 6, 2016): Curtis “Cerebral Assassin” Stevens (28-5, 21 KOs) returns to the ring and the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on the Kovalev-Ward “Pound For Pound” non-televised undercard to face James “The King” De La Rosa (23-4, 13 KOs) in a ten-round middleweight showdown.

 

Stevens, 31, of Brownsville, Brooklyn returned to the ring on Maio 7 of this year and stopped previously undefeated Brazilian prospect Patrick Teixeira in the second round on the HBO Pay-Per-View® undercard of Canelo-Khan. The victory over Teixeira catapulted Stevens back into the ranking of all four sanctioning bodies, including top ten ratings in both the IBF and WBC. He is hoping to continue that momentum and secure another shot at the middleweight title.

 

De La Rosa, 28, is originally from Mexico but now resides in San Benito, Texas. His most recent win was a unanimous decision upset over former title contender Alfredo Angulo on the undercard of Mayweather-Maidana. De La Rosa has suffered two back-to-back losses since his win over Angulo but both have come at the hands of two previously undefeated prospects in Hugo Centeno Jr. and Jason Quigley. Commonly, fighters in his position would prefer a tune-up to get back on a winning track but, neste caso, De La Rosa opted out of that easy route and decided to test himself against another former title contender in Stevens.

 

According to Stevens, “I’m happy someone is willing to fight me. Bless the Gods. Agora, it’s time to turn it up a notch and get ready to check in and check out. The Bully is back!"

 

This will be Stevens’s second fight working with world-renowned trainer and former world champion John David Jackson. Jackson added, “Curtis Stevens is happy to be stepping back in the ring on Novembro 19 against De La Rosa. He is eager to show the world that he deserves another chance to win the middleweight world title.”

 

“It’s always good to fight on a big stage,” said De La Rosa. “As always, I’m coming to fight and put on a show. I know I have a tough fighter in front of me in Curtis Stevens. With his style and my style, we’ll warm the fans up for Kovalev-Ward. Thanks to Main Events and AC Sports Management, LLC for putting this together.”

 

De La Rosa’s manager Adrian Clark added, “This is a must win situation for James and I know that he has the potential to pull off an upset. Curtis Stevens is a very dangerous opposition but again, I believe that JDLR can spoil things and leave Vegas with a ‘W’. It is great to finally work with Main Events again. It has been too long!"

 

Main Events’ matchmaker and 2015 NABF Matchmaker of the Year Jolene Mizzone had this to say about the match-up: “Kudos to both guys for taking this fight. Curtis Stevens could have waited around for someone to finally accept his challenge, but he wants to keep busy and challenge himself at the same time. UNDEFEATED NEIMAN GRACIE CHALLENGES 30-FIGHT VETERAN RUDY BEARS IN CATCHWEIGHT BOUT

An attendee of the world-renown Blair Academy in Susquehanna Township, PA, where he was the top-ranked recruit in the nation for his weight class, Ruth elected to stay local and attend wrestling powerhouse Penn State University where he went on to add three National Championships and four All-American accolades to his trophy room while wrestling with the Nittany Lions. Fighting out of Pennsylvania, Mark Mangiardi will have his hands full when he makes his professional debut against Ruth. The accolades didn’t stop there, with Fortune accepting an offer to wrestle at Ohio State University, before ultimately settling in at the highly acclaimed Grand Canyon Universities program. Since graduating college, Fortune represented Team USA in Olympic style wrestling, where he also experienced success. Splitting time between wrestling training in Arizona alongside fellow “Bellator 163” competitor Ed Ruth and mixed martial arts training with the Blackzilians in Florida, Fortune has spent a great deal of time honing his striking talents and submission defense.

 

Miskell has competed in both heavyweight and super heavyweight contests during his seven-fight amateur stint, acumulando um recorde de 5-2. The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt followed up the win with a win over Roger Carroll, and now looks to remain undefeated when he enters the Mohegan Sun Arena for the second time of his budding MMA career.

 

A 37-year-old Missouri native, Bears began his combat sports training in high school. Lewiston, Maine (Outubro 6, 2016) – Lutas da Nova Inglaterra (NEF) apresenta seu próximo evento de artes marciais mistas, “NEF 26: SUPREMACIA,” no sábado, Novembro 19 no Banco Androscoggin Colisee. Hoje cedo, Executivos da NEF anunciaram a adição de uma luta feminina amador peso galo ao card da luta. Jessica “A viúva negra” Pagamento (2-2) retorna ao Maine para assumir Brianne Genschel (0-0) com um peso de luta de 135 quilos.

 

Borga fez sua estreia no NEF cage no mês passado contra Rachael Joyce (2-0). Ela viajou mais do que 1500 milhas de Lakeland, Florida para a luta. MICHELLE CORRALES-LEWIS Named New CEO / President of the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame

LAS VEGAS, NV (Outubro 5, 2016) – O Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame (NVBHOF) a non-profit charitable organization which donates to boxing-related causes, is happy to announce Michelle Corrales-Lewis as its new CEO/President. Respected boxing announcer, Rico Marotta, who founded the NVBHOF in 2012, steps down after devoting years of his life to get the organization off the ground.
With a number of boxing greats already inducted, which include world champion fighters, judges, coaches and promoters, the NVBHOF has rapidly established itself as prestigious group not only here in Las Vegas, but around the world. The NVBHOF has multiple fundraising events throughout the year, helping local boxing organizations fulfill their goals to keep boxing alive within the community.
“I took this organization as far as I could and I’m very comfortable where it is at today,” said Rich Marotta. “Michelle is on the scene in Las Vegas, has a myriad of contacts, both in business and with the boxing community, especialmente os lutadores, and is more than ready to completely run the company. Filadélfia, PA (Outubro 5, 2016)–After his emphatic unanimous decision victory over Gabriel Rosado on September, 17th, it was widely understood in the boxing industry that middleweight contender Willie Monroe, Jr. would get an opportunity to face Canelo Alvarez in a bout this winter or next spring.
Now it seems, Canelo’s team, led by trainer Eddie Reynoso, have seemed to do a 180 degree turn, and they don’t want their prized fighter anywhere near the former world title challenger.
“I don’t think it’s Canelo himself, but it is his team. I know Canelo would fight me,“said Monroe. “I think it is trainers who fear that they can’t prepare Canelo for my style.“
Monroe points to pre-fight talk that came from Canelo’s side that the winner of the fight between Monroe & Rosado would be the front-runner to receive the fight with Alvarez.
“If he is a true man, they should stick to their word. The plan was for the winner of that fight to be able to fight Canelo. They thought Rosado would win, and he would just be a guy that would get pounded by Canelo.”
“If the shoe was on the other foot, and it was me who did not want to fight an aggressive fighter, I would look like a punk.”
“They keep putting me on the “B” side, and I just keep on winning. Remember Rosado was the guy who kept saying he was going to knock me out and talking a lot, calling me scared and a bum; I am not that type of guy. I don’t have nine gold chains around my neck or gold teeth in.”

Watch the fight with Rosado. I stood in the middle of the ring with my feet planted in. I was waiting for Rosado to come in, and after I hit him a few times, he looked scared and it was me pressing him.”

Lewiston, Maine (Outubro 5, 2016) – Lutas da Nova Inglaterra (NEF) apresenta seu próximo evento de artes marciais mistas, “NEF 26: SUPREMACIA,” no sábado, Novembro 19 no Banco Androscoggin Colisee. Hoje cedo, NEF executives announced the addition of a professional featherweight bout to the fight card. Aaron “Implacável” Lacey (3-0) has signed on to face Taylor Trahan (6-6) com um peso de luta de 145 quilos.

 

Lacey is riding high on a three-fight win streak to start his professional career. He will be looking for his fourth win in a short seven-month period. It would seem that the Young’s MMA featherweight is on the fast track to the next level of the sport. Lacey knows that to get there he will have to continue to face, and defeat, tough veterans like Trahan.

 

“Taylor is a seasoned veteran who has competed against the best New England has to offer for a long time,” said Lacey. “He has a vast amount of experience that is going to be hard to surmount. Trahan is the definition of veteran. He has competed on the regional mixed-martial-arts scene since 2009. Puetz (14-2-0, M-1: 5-1-0) captured the covered M-1 Challenge light heavyweight title in 2014, when he defeated defending champion Nemkov by way of a five-round split decision. Pereira (16-2-0, M-1: 0-0-0) will be making his M-1 debut. He is a champion in Brazil, holds a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and will be fighting professionally for the first time outside of his native Brazil.

SHATTERPROOF AND RUTHLESS IN MAINE TURF WAR AT NEF 26

Lewiston, Maine (Outubro 4, 2016) – Lutas da Nova Inglaterra (NEF) apresenta seu próximo evento de artes marciais mistas, “NEF 26: SUPREMACIA,” no sábado, Novembro 19 no Banco Androscoggin Colisee. Hoje cedo, NEF executives announced the addition of a professional featherweight bout to the fight card. Josh Parker (4-8) vai assumir“Shatterproof 2.0” Derek Shorey (4-7) com um peso de luta de 145 quilos.

 

Parker is the head of Ruthless MMA & Boxing based in Benton, Maine. A regular in the NEF MMA cage during the early days of the promotion, Parker has spent the last several years competing in the boxing ring. He battled Elias Leland to a draw last November in a boxing bout at “NEF XX.” Parker predicts a finish in his long-awaited return to cage competition.

 

“I want to thank NEF for the opportunity and Derek for taking the fight,” disse Parker. “Estou animado para voltar ao cage. I feel like I have a lot to prove. I will show up this time and I will finish this fight – don’t miss it!”

 

Derek Shorey, founder of the Shatterproof Combat Club at the Outlet in Dexter, Maine, is coming off a huge win in Rhode Island just over a week ago. It was the spark Shorey had been looking for after dropping his last four in a row in the NEF cage. Admittedly, Shorey is filled with both fear and excitement coming into the fight with Parker.

 

“This is a fight that has scared the crap out of me in the past,” declared Shorey. “Ele é um grande, strong 145er that has good movement and boxing. Standing and trading could end horribly for either of us. His strength may be enough to keep my slams in check and I’m not a jits expert, so he can probably power out of whatever I throw at him. It’s a puzzle I’m both excited and terrified to tackle.”
