Warrior’s Boxing’s revived “Windy City Fight Night” continued its growth u subotu night in Chicago, as the largest crowd yet watched a seven-bout card at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago.
In the thrilling main event, Chicago junior middleweight Achour Esho (13-0, 8 Kos) had to survive a nearly disastrous first round to stop crosstown rival Anthony Abbruzzese (4-6, 3 Kos) in three.
Abbruzzese came out blazing in the first, culminating in a sustained barrage of punches that could have easily led to a stoppage. To Esho’s credit, he survived and walked wearily to his stool.
The fight changed, međutim, u krugu dva, as a miraculously revived Esho bit down on his mouthpiece and started throwing hard shots. One of them dropped a surprised Abbruzzese, who arose on shaky legs, only to be dropped again before round’s end.

Bellator 173: McGeary vs. polja

Hailing from Andover, Engleska, the 34-year-old Liam McGeary (11-1) will make the short trek up to Northern Ireland’s capital for the first time in his career, where he will once again compete in a main event. The former Bellator MMA light heavyweight champion will enter the cage for the 10thtime under the Scott Coker-led promotion, where he has posted an 8-1 record with seven finishes. Following an 11-fight winning streak to begin his professional career, McGeary finally experienced the sour taste of defeat, kada Phil Davis wrestled the title away from him at Bellator 163. Having made his Bellator debut in London this past July in London, Gallagher followed up in December with a submission victory over Anthony Taylor in front of a raucous home crowd at the 3Arena in Dublin. Gallagher now takes on Kiril Medvedovsky (7-3) in the co-main event of the evening.

 

Another top prospect from the famed SBG powerhouse, Sinead Kavanagh (4-0) returns to the Bellator cage against 32-year-old Parisian Iona Razafiarison (1-1, 1 NC) in a 140-pound catchweight matchup “KO” Kavanagh, who fights out of nearby Dublin Ireland will no doubt be looking to collect her third knockout on Veljača 24.

 

BAMMA 28: Parke Vs. Redmond

“Stormin” Norman Parke (22-5-1) from Bushmills, Antrim is no stranger to BAMMA events, as he has been spotted numerous times cornering team mates as part of the Next Gen Northern Ireland fight team. One of Europe’s most sought after free agents prior to putting pen to paper with BAMMA, Parke now goes in pursuit of the coveted BAMMA World Lightweight title.

Paul “Redser” Redmond (11-6) landed a victorious homecoming of his own at BAMMA 26, as Redser took out the double tough Chris “The Menace” Stringer to claim the adulation of his hometown support. Redmond now steps into one of the biggest fights ever announced in Ireland, as he takes on Parke in this hugely anticipated match up.

He became a three-division titlist when he captured the vacant WBC Lightweight World Championship in 2014 with a knockout of Javier Prieto. The 31-year-old defended the belt twice in 2015 with knockouts of Kevin Mitchell and Ivan Cano before being named “Champion in Recess” by the WBC because of inactivity due to injuries. Linares returned following an 11-month layoff to face Crolla in his hometown of Manchester, outpointing the champion 115-114, 117-111 a 115-113 in a back-and-forth and bloody battle. S pobjedom, Linares also earned the WBC Diamond and Ring Magazine lightweight belts.

 

Crolla, Manchester, won the WBA Lightweight Title with a fifth-round KO of Darleys Perez in November of 2015 in an immediate rematch of their 12-round draw earlier that year. The 30-year-old knocked out previously unbeaten Ismael Barroso in his first title defense on May 7, 2016 to set up the showdown with Linares. The close loss to Linares was Crolla’s first defeat in his last 11 borbe.

Born in Paris, Francuska, Yoka began boxing at six-years-old and was trained by his father Victor, a former professional boxer in the Congo. Yoka first made a splash by winning the French Junior National Championship in 2008 a 2009 before claiming a silver medal at the 2010 Youth World Championships. He continued his rise to prominence by winning French National Championships in 2012 a 2014 while also defeating current heavyweight world champion Joseph Parker at the 2010 Youth Olympic games.

NEW YORK (Siječanj 23, 2017) – Boxing journalist Steve Farhood was the special guest speaker at last Tuesday night’s Ring 8 monthly meeting held at O’Neill’s Restaurant in Maspeth, Njujork.
Farhood is being inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame this June. The popular Brooklynite, is the former editor-and-chief of The Ring and KO Magazine, in addition to being a veteran television commentator, including his current role for Showtime’s ShoBox: Nova generacija since its inception in 2001. U 2002, he received the prestigious Sam Taub Award from the Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA) for Excellence in Broadcasting Journalism.
“The members of Ring 8 enjoyed what Steve Farhood had to say,” Prsten 8 predsjednik Jack Hirsch rekla. “He enlightened them about facets of the boxing business many were unaware of.”

Farhood and Duffy are inductees in the New York State Boxing Hall of Fame (NYSBHOF), koju sponzorira Ring 8, while Hirsch is past president of the BWAA.

ST. PETERSBURG, Rusija (Siječanj 23, 2017) – Neporaženi M-1 Challenge prvak u poluteškoj kategoriji Aleksej Kunchenko sada će izazvati kolega Rus Maksim Grabovich, koji je zamijenio ozlijeđenog Shavkata Rakhmonova, Ožujak 3, na M-1 Challenge 75 U Moskvi.
M-1 Grand Prix prvak u srednjoj kategoriji Aleksandar “Oluja” Shlemenko (54-9-0. 1 NC, M-1: 4-0-0),trostruki prvak Bellatora, će naslov M-1 Challenge 75 protiv protivnika koji će uskoro biti objavljen.
Kunchenko (15-0-0, M-1: 7-0), boreći se iz Tjumena, Rusija, je stručnjak za muay Thai koji je u travnju prošle godine zauzeo svoj pojas u poluteškoj kategoriji M-1 Challenge M-1 Challenge 65, prilikom obrane titlista Murad Abdulaev povučen tijekom četvrtog kruga.
U borbi bez naslova, Kunchenko je pobijedio jednoglasnom odlukom u tri kruga Eduardo Ramon na M-1 Challenge u M-1 Challenge 70 prošlog rujna. Njegova prva obrana naslova bila je Prosinac 5 na M-1 Challenge 72, u kojem je Kunchenko u revanšu pobijedio jednoglasnu odluku u 5 krugova nad Abdulaevom.
Grabovich (5-2-0, M-1: 4-0-0), boreći se protiv poznatog Starog Oskola u Rusiji, je pobijedio u svoje posljednje tri borbe, osim što je neporažen u četiri meča M-1 Global. Njegova dosadašnja pobjeda bila je prošlog lipnja u M-1 Challenge 68, u kojoj je Grabovich u borbi s noći pobijedio jednoglasno u tri kruga.
U ostalim najavljenim borbama glavnih karata, Američka lagana Keon “Crni ubojica” Caldwell (11-3-0, M-1: 0-0-0) debitira u M-1 Globalu protiv bivšeg prvaka u lakoj kategoriji M-1 Challenge Maxim Divnich (12-2-0 (M-1: 6-2-0), dok je ruska perspektiva u poluteškoj kategoriji Sergej “Streetfighter” Romanov (10-1-0, M-1: 3-0-0) suočava se s ruskim veteranom Magomed “Bijeli vuk” Sultanakhmedov (18-5-0, M-1: 10-1-0).
